Summary for
In modern times, mankind believes they know all that there is to know about the world around them. Arrogant in their ignorance, they travel through life completely unaware of the other beings in their midst, the other Children of Creation. Celestial Angels and Fallen walk amongst them unseen, while the third beings of creation, the Guardians, live along side them, protecting them from attacks of the Fallen.
Daniella Rossi is a nineteen year old college student who sees the world quite differently than those around her. From infancy, she was aware of the beings that walked among her kind who were not like them, as well as her own personal Guardian who watched over her. Dani always knew she was different, but she never dreamed the full scope of her importance.
Follow Dani as her life takes an unexpected turn when a new Guardian is assigned to replace her lifelong companion and friend. Much older, more experienced, and socially awkward, Nathaniel must learn to adjust himself to fit into Dani’s world in order to guard her without drawing unwanted attention. While the Fallen are determined to capture Dani, she and Nathaniel find themselves developing a bond that goes far beyond that of Guardian and charge. Facing the strains of a brewing war and forbidden affections, will they be ready for the coming battle? Will Dani be able to handle the truth of her existence and destiny?

I don't think it's right to review my own novel, so instead I'll share a few little tidbits and trivia info.
This began as an Entry for the 2010 Original Fiction Contest with The Writer's Coffee Shop. It was simply Titled The Children of Creation at that time. It went on to win the Young adult division.
The climactic scene actually came to me in a dream while staying in a hotel room in Schaumburg. We had traveled to the Chicago area to celebrate my son's birthday and I woke up at 3am reeling from the dream. I sat up for an hour to write that scene and when it came to that point in the writing process there was actually very little I had to change. I had developed more on one of the groups involved that I had to elaborate on, added a character, and revealed some information to my lead character earlier in the story than originally anticipated, but beyond that, about 80% remained unchanged.
The lead male Character, Nathaniel, was modeled after actor Ian Somerhalder in his role as Damon from The Vampire Diaries. Handsome and yet emotionally distant is a role he did well at the beginning of the show, and also as the show developed so did his emotional range.
Another slightly humorous note, the role of migraines in the story actually developed from me having a pretty bad one at the time I wrote the first chapter that discusses it. It seemed like a perfect tool for a bad guy to use to torture the object of their focus, thus the migraine storyline unfolded.
I loved writing this story and really look forward to writing the two sequels. I hope you enjoy it!
Sincerely, J.D. Watts

This book totally surprised me, in a very good way. The prologue had me a bit wary that this would be an overly religious tome, but once I started Chapter 1 I could not put it down.
Orphan Dani Rossi is a very special girl whose life has been protected by Ana, a Guardian sent to look after her by the angels. Dani has the unique ability - but sometimes she sees it as a curse - of being able to see her Guardian and other celestial beings, including the Fallen Angels Lucifer sends to try to harm her. With the threat against her increasing, at age 19 Dani finds Ana is to be replaced by Nathaniel, a much stronger Guardian who is as gorgeous as he is innocent of the human emotions he feels through his bond with Dani. Of course she doesn't like Nate at first, especially as he has replaced her mother-figure, but he starts running his fingers through his hair and... *swoon*
I love a good angels versus demons showdown, and the suspense Watts builds to get us to the finale is very well done. Dani learns how truly special she is and finds the strength to do what everyone expects her to do just in the nick of time. Yes, it does get a bit Christian at the end, but the whole things fits, and of course the slow-burning love story with Nate is just heavenly (pun intended!)
I hope the second book in the series can progress the love story - UST is all very well but sometimes I need a bit of action! - as well as tell us what the bad guys plan to do next. I'm looking forward to reading it.
Convergence was a very hard book to put down. I loved seeing angels portrayed with such loyalty and strength. This is how I picture Angels to be in reality. The author put a unique spin on the typical Guardian Angel. I always thought them to be a type of angel, but in Convergence, they are a separate creation. I enjoyed this new addition to the world of celestial beings. There were many things about this book that flowed right along with my way of thinking, and even the new ideas made sense and fit with the story. I want to see where the love story goes and how Dani grows further with her newly given information about herself. I'm excited to read the second book.
I loved this book! So far I have passed it on to my hubby and two teenage daughters as well as three of my friends. The author is incredibly creative and so descriptive in her writing that I feel that I am right there cheering on her characters. Dani and Nate... what can I say, you want to cheer for them, slap them, tell them to pull their heads out of their.... well you get the picture. And just when you think you know where the story is going... Well read it and find out. Can't wait for more from this author. Will definitely be waiting with baited breath!
This was a really good book. I wasn't really sure how it would match up with my own doctrine, but I didn't really find anything to contradict what I believe. the story is well paced, but I am glad to know the sequel will be out in a few months. I was introduced to JD Watts via fan fiction. She writes a lot if Twilight stories I enjoyed reading si I picked up her book. She is a new author, so her work needs some polishing, but I liked the story and I think she will only improve with a better editor and more experiance.
I was never really interested in books about angels but this is my second time reading an angel book and again I was happy with how it went. I wasn't disappointed at all and loved every moment of it. Though I was surprised by how close this book was to real angels and how they follow under god's rule, well the good ones anyways. The only thing that really bugged me about the book was the fact that there was a part in the book where they went back showing a different point of view. That annoyed me a bit so that's why it isn't a complete 5 out of 5 stars.
Dani is a great character, she's not a girly girl but more of a tomboy type of character. She doesn't like wearing anything to girlish. She's strong and is passionate about her school work. She loves going to College and not even the threat of the fallen angels will stop her from going. She cares a lot of Ana her guardian angel for the longest time. She thinks of Ana as her mother like figure and she was depress when the Master(god) made the change to have Nathaniel take over, who she nicknamed Nate. Nate is a Guardian, a Guardian is a type of angel who looks after human they are told to protect. They protect them from the fallen angels and live close by to be near their charges if anything happens. Now to explain Nate I have to mention that Guardian's are made so that they protect their charges from anything and they aren't given emotions. So he's always stiff and only cares about his job of protecting the human he's in charge of. Though that changes when he meets Dani, and your going to have to see why when you read the book hehe. Ana as I said above is a mother figure towards Dani, she's been with Dani ever since she was born. She loves Dani as any mother would because of how long she's known her. Like Nate she doesn't have any real emotions but with Dani it's different. I do love these characters and they work well together making Dani feel more at home when they're together.
Hardly to no romance in this novel but that doesn't mean there wasn't any chemistry between Dani and Nate. There relationship was slow and took a long time for them to fall in love. Not to mention that Nate also needed to know what he was feeling was love. It's cute seeing how it happen at the end of the book and you will wish for more between them but that's why there is a second book.
The plot is great, I love everything about it, everything is just so exciting to read to see what will happen next. A few twists though that will keep you guessing making it extra great. Not to mention that you learn who Dani really is and why everything is falling apart around her and why she has two Guardians. Not to mention you learn more about angels then any other angel book, well from what I read anyways.
My first opinion on starting this book was Oh My where is this going? I have started reading a lot more of paranormal and angel type books. But Author J.D. Watts has totally put a new spin on things!!
Daniella is such the type of character that you want to stand beside her and say "Look girl listen up and kick butt and take notes". In a good way that is. Author J.D. Watts has took a different look at how we are protected here on earth. The behind the scenes so to speak.
I believe in Guardians, Angels, and that the Lord does have them watching over us. But to actual take and read a book that takes you over to THEIR side of how things are. Well, I LOVED IT!!!
The story line flowed with such twists and turns that I was constantly wanting to know what was going to happen to Dani next. Her true feelings of loss, love, of being afraid not just for herself but for her actual Guardians.
Nathaniel, well... What should I say about Nataniel? So rugged, but softening. The descriptions of this character and his role in this story will, well let us say that you won't regret at all about falling for this Angel!
Okay, there are so many other awesome characters, twists and turns. and things that go on in this book that it will almost raise the hair on the back of your neck to try and say "Are They Real!!!
As usual I am not going to reveal any thing further, I feel you need to Read for yourself... And Believe Me, This one is a MUST READ!!!!
And for those reasons above I am giving Convergence by J. D. Watts a Breath of Life Rating of:
to be honest, I didn't know what I was getting into when I read this and I was so surprised at myself for much I truly enjoyed it. I couldn't put it down, it just drew me in. There are several layers to the characters in this book and the plot. I'm looking forward to the next installment.
