Szydełkowanie i dzierganie na drutach miałam we "krwi" od zawsze - to po mamie i babci, i jak widać, pewne rzeczy chyba rzeczywiście się dziedziczy. Kiedyś poświęcałam więcej czasu na dzierganie, raz była to malutka czapeczka, nawet malusie buciki, jakiś kocyk.... Ale to było dawno. Potem przyszły studia, dość wymagająca praca i na prawie 10 lat musiałam przerwać szydełkowanie. Próbuję teraz do tego wrócić, bo coś ostatnio ten dziedziczny zew mi się odzywa i z przerażeniem uświadamiam sobie, że wielu rzeczy już nie pamiętam, i w towarzystwie tej książki postanowiłam przypomnieć sobie wszystkie zapomniane zasady i nazewnictwo m.in jak czytać schematy i wzory, które w wersji graficznej przysparzały mi najwięcej problemów i jak się robi słupek nawijany. Wszystko jest opisane bardzo prosto, klarownie, z pomocą ilustracji, które dość wyraźnie obrazują wykonywanie wszelkich projektów krok po kroku. Teraz zamiast tylko i wyłącznie czytać, muszę dzielić czas pomiędzy książkę a szydełko a z tym ostatnio nie ma żadnej dyskusji - za każdym razem kiedy staję przed wyborem "książka lub dzierganie", książka musi wywiesić białą flagę....

An easy-to-follow guide for beginners. Good illustrations, for easy first-time projects. I am not a beginner, but hadn't crocheted in years. I needed an easy design for dish clothes.

A VERY good book for a beginner. The first chapter teaches you and numbers the basic stitching and crochet techniques. Then when it goes to the actual projects to make, they repeat the number of the technique you're using. There are also lots of pictures so you can make sure your project is going well.

The patterns are pretty easy to follow. Includes helpful pictures of the crochet process. Does not use US crochet terms so that can cause confusion. All the the stitches/terms are explained at the beginning of the book.

Does it count as finished if the library needs it back? and I've made copies of the projects I'd like to try and I'll probably check it out again when I get brave enough to try bigger projects?
