I think in total this book took me about 2 years on and off to complete. But that is also me being slow and taking so many notes and learning a lot!!
I would recommend this book to anyone remotely interested in Asian American or queer studies to read it. As far as I know of, it is the only comprehensive anthology about Queer Asian America that I’ve ever seen. Although it was published in 1998, 25 years later the essays felt as relevant as ever.
explores asian american diaspora + intersections w queerness. dense at times but inspires deep reflection on what it means to be asian American, queer, activist, or somewhere between all of those things.
