This chapbook from Chris was a captivating and sinister little tale of love, hate, envy, bitterness and longing!
Miranda adores her best friend Colleen, to the point where she wants to be just like her, to have everything she has. Yet when they leave college and start to move on with their lives, when Colleen finds herself a new boyfriend, and eventually a husband, house and baby, Miranda realises other feelings for her best friend. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and she will do anything to keep Colleen, and to keep up with Colleen!!
She wants what Colleen has and to hell with the consequences. She's a girl that gets what she wants, whatever it takes! She tries to be nice, she knows what she has to do to be nice, but she's doing those things for all the wrong reasons and karma is about to bite her on the ass!!
When both couples become pregnant, there are questions asked, and the answers cause things to come to a head in the most shocking and hurtful way!
They say imitation is the biggest form of flattery, but not in this instance!! The way Miranda progresses in her sinister, manipulative and conniving ways was enthralling and powerful!
This story was dark, deep, disturbing and delightful and I loved every single word of it! 🖤

Loved this! Love, hate, jealousy and obsession all combined to show what someone would do to have what her best friend has. Fast paced and tense and I really hope there's more to Miranda's story!

This is a quick chapbook that I picked up tonight that quickly built up suspense and action. Chris Miller is a master of suspense and this story was no different.
Miranda and Colleen have been best friends since high school. Although they went to rival colleges, they kept their friendship strong. As time and relationships evolved, Miranda realizes she wants more than what she has. She wants what Colleen has and sets her plans into motion to make it happen.
This is a deliciously devious little story! Definitely worth the read! Check it out!

I grabbed this little ditty after seeing it advertised on social media, and it was the perfect creepy little story to curl up with on a cold New England evening. ‘Think you’ve seen every angle of the jealousy triangle? Think again! Bravo to Miller for taking a well trodden trope and exhaling a fresh breath of life.

Miranda’s jealousy over her obsessive friendship with Miranda builds and things soon spiral out of control.
The story is tense and dark, and the conclusion will leave you reeling. My first, but not last, read from Miller.

This story is so much fun! Fun might be the wrong word, it’s not like it’s a carnival or something. It’s dark and twisted but made light with a flavor of snark and humor that tickles me pink. It’s a great short read with a cruelly delightful ending. Highly recommend!

Really a 4.5. While I read this author's horror, I was curious to see where he could go with this novella. This is much more of a mental thriller. In a snarky way-- it left me even more concerned about friendly people. A very good what if and small peak of what could be going on in someone's mind - that you'd never know. Quick enjoyable read.
