This could totally be made into a Hallmark movie on byutv or something. Sometimes Kiri has flashbacks into her childhood but the transition into flashbacks was hard to recognize. I feel like it needed a definitive title like x many years ago or something like that. Maybe it's easier to read in actual print. It's very clean.

Remember No More By Pamela Reid
Remember no more is a book written for young adults and teens. The main issue in this book is that Kiri is dependent on her own and doesn't want to let anyone in her life. She doesn't want to let people in because of the physical and sexual abuse she went through as a child. The settings in the story are the cabin, Ted and Winnies house, and Dan's house that he grew up in. The characters in the book are Dan, Kiri, Ted, Winnie, Koro, and Herewini. The antagonist is Koro in the story. The protagonists are all the rest of the characters in the story. The short summary of the book is that Kiri was abused as a young girl. She ran away from home. She became a very dependent girl on her own. she meets Ted, Dan, and Winnie because she is really ill. They love her immediately. She struggles to let people in her life. She feels if they find out about her past that they wont like her anymore. Dan and Kiri soon find that they have feelings for each other. Kiri wont let go of her past. Dan convinces her that she needs to let go and forgive her Grandpa and Uncles for the wrong they have done. When she does this she realizes it is in the past and she can truly spend a life time with Dan.
I liked that this story takes a real life situation and Kiri over comes it. Two quotes from the book are on page 204 and 185. " Kiri you don't have to change you are you.... and you just have to accept that you are a wonderful person..." "You have earned your place in the world through hard work and sheer goodness.... but you are letting the past catch up to you and take over every thing you have to reach to a better place" Theme of this book is " don't let your past predict your future!"
I would recommend this book to young adults and teenagers because bad things happen to good people. It also helps them to be able to forgive and move on. One thing that is really unique is that the story takes place in New Zealand. It also has a map, glossary, and word pronunciation guide. I rate this book a 5 star.

So far I find Reid's stories and characters to be genuine and intriguing and these were no exception. As other reviews have stated, the romance itself was a little trite, but the realistic dealing with and healing from childhood abuse was moving and eye-opening for one who has been lucky enough to never experience that. I was grateful that the descriptions of the abuse were minimal and vague; the author chose to focus on the healing necessary and the pain that leaves when you finally allow the Savior into that part of your heart. I found it hard to believe that she could have moved on so well without any kind of support or counselling, with no more character flaws than extreme guilt and low self-esteem. The character herself was a little too perfect for me, but the effect of the storytelling was masterful. After finishing the book I felt like I better understood people in her circumstances. And that's the whole point of reading, right? Having never personally experienced abuse, poverty, or truly dysfunctional families, I try to read a lot of those plots to expand my empathy and understanding of others' circumstances and feelings. This book surpassed everything I have yet read, with the exception of actual memoirs. I started reading to learn more about New Zealand and its people, but got much more than I bargained for (while getting a lot less out of the romance angle than I expected).

Truthfully, I really struggled with this book at first. I actually just about didn't finish it...several times. I put it down first after reading the prologue. I am not a huge fan of stories about abuse like Kiri went through and just wasn't sure I was up to the drama. I obviously picked it back up and am now glad I finished it. I did read a couple other books at the same time I was making my way through this one. I believe the author handled the story very well and portrayed a lot of emotion that is present when someone deals with such a hard childhood. I loved how she wove the gospel into the lives of the characters. I admit it drug on in some places and I struggled through Kiri's flashbacks. I loved Ted and Winnie's characters and believe there are many good strong people like them just trying to make a difference in this crazy world. It saddens me that abuse like Kiri went through is happening in the world and yet I love how this author portrayed how it can be overcome and that the person can set their own destiny. Especially with the help of a loving Savior who allows and gives forgiveness and peace into our lives. Dan made a great hero and I loved how he treated Kiri! So, overall I am grateful for the perspective this book gave and what I was able to take away from the story but won't be rereading this one.

Set in New Zealand, this book was about Kiri, a young woman who was sexually and physically abused by her family all of her life. She finally was able to escape and make something of her life, but, of course, she was afraid of any kind of relationship. However, she fell in love with Dan and he with her. The romance was rocky, but everything turned out great in the end.

This was an okay book. I liked the descriptions of New Zealand. I thought the romance was a little "cheesy"--the butterflies in the stomach, the heart racing, etc. But maybe I'm just getting too old to enjoy a good romance. I liked the gospel being a part of the characters' lives.

Kiri has tried to put her abusive childhood behind her and move on with her life. But, moving on is hard when she's held back by guilt and feeling that she's unworthy of love and happiness.

The main idea of the story was good, but the delivery was lacking. It was a challenge to finish.

I'd love to visit New Zealand someday, so I enjoyed the tidbits I learned about New Zealand and the Maori people.

Once again she set her story in New Zealand. Some of her characters were from the first book she had written. This one was about a girl being sexually & physically abused as a child. This leaves her feeling she is not worthy of the love of a good man. She struggles with acceptance,& forgiveness. The nice thing about her is her desire to make something of her life in spite of the things that have happened to her.

I thought this book was pretty good. Abuse is just not my favorite story line, however the author did a good job presenting the subject and the main character's struggle to overcome it and forgive. Could be a good theraputic book for someone struggling with their own abuse. The rommance was definately a plus and I enjoyed the way she got her happy ending.

It was a story about a girl that had lived with abuse from her family for years. She got old enough to leave and made a good life for herself. She came in contact with a wonderful family who took her in and loved her and helped her heal.
It is so sad people have to go through abuse and I'm glad it didn't talk about that part too much.

Kiri is befriended by Ted and Winnie (previous characters). She learns from them what a loving family is and that she is worthy of love and happiness. Revealing her horrific childhood and facing her grandfather begins the healing process.

I liked the New Zealand culture depicted in the book, and how the main character Kiri was depicted.

This book was so poorly written that I didn't even make it past the 2nd chapter...I put it down quickly because I was so disgusted with how lame it was.

The book was well written I just thought that the story it's self was kind of sad and just interesting...I am just glad she was able to get over her "problems" and in the end and move on.

This womans books are well written and rather low key. I don't keep feeling that I cannot put it down, but she is an excellent writer as compared to some LDS fiction writers.

If I could I would give it 3 1/2 stars. It was a short book so it made it seem like the issues the characters had to over come were so easy. And thats just not how it is in real life.

This was an LDS romantic novel that tackled some really deep topics, and did so delicately while dealing with the need for love and healing and faith to overcome trials.
