This was really cute but parts of it were repetitive. Also the ending could have been longer it felt kind of abrupt.

I wanted to read this book by Nell Dixon because I really liked her other book Blue Remembered Heels. Animal Instincts turned out to be good, but somehow I like Blue Remembered Heels better.

I like the characters, especially the sister, Imogen and wished that the book told more of her story too. Why can't a book have two heroines, right? The main characters Clodagh and Jack's story is quite turbulent, as both of them have issues from the past that makes them who they are at present. This fact is the base of the storyline most of the time. It gets a bit tiresome after a while, but not enough to stop me from reading, though.

If you like a light read of romance, maybe this could be your choice.=)

Randomly picked this book from the library during lunch break cos I like the cover. So far the cover has not failed me yet. It's truly a chick-lit; lots of dramas making it easy and fast to read.

Clodagh Martin runs an animal sanctuary Rainbow Ridge. She's been struggling to manage the sanctuary and has a shortage of funds. To top things off, her celebrity half-sister Imogen ("Immi") has turned up unannounced after an embarrassing escapade on live television. Then there is Jack Thatcher, the handsome property developer who has been extremely interested in Clodagh lately. She's not sure if he is interested in her or the land her animal sanctuary is on. She can't help but be attracted to him but she has her own issues after being burned badly from a previous serious relationship. After a surprise development, there are increasing acts of vandalism. Will Clodagh be able to save her livelihood?

This book was great! As an animal lover, I loved reading about an animal sanctuary. I also loved how Nell wrote such great characters. You've got two very different siblings, Clodagh and Immi, who love and care for each other. I couldn't also help but be intrigued by what was going on in the book, whether it was regarding the intrigue or the romance. The chemistry between Clodagh and Jack was great and it was interesting to see each of them handled their hangups. And it wasn't until very close to the end that it became somewhat clear as to who the saboteur was. Well done Ms. Dixon!

I loved this story. Clodagh Martin warms your heart with her determination to keep her animal sanctuary in business. Nothing ever sways her, not even the increasingly sinister goings on, and she fights never to give up on her vocation to care for her menagerie of unwanted animals.

I enjoyed getting to know all the characters, from Immi, Clodagh’s celebrity sister, to Marcus one of the paparazzi who’s looking for an exclusive. There are many hilarious moments complimentary of the foul-mouthed parrot and the romance between Jack and Clodagh shows both characters’ believable back-stories and takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride.

Animal Instincts has everything I love in a romance. Fab characters, engaging plot, humour which works and lightens up the more serious moments. Everything about this story is believable and will have you engrossed from beginning to end.

Animal Instincts is Nell Dixon’s second Little Black Dress book and she is fast becoming one of my favourite writers.

This is the third book I have read by this Author.
Clodagh Martin runs an Animal Sanctuary she is having problems as her is no money in the business and thinks someone is after her.
Her Step-Sister Celebrity Sister Immi turns up unannounced drunk with no suitcase saying she’s in big trouble and wants to say, Clodagh is not impressed as she has enough on her plate.
Jack Thatcher a local property investor has been showing lots of attention to Clodagh but is he after the Sanctuary or Clodagh? Also after Jonathan could Clodagh ever trust a man again?
This book was funny especially the Parrott and Immi, I loved this book from start to finish; it is a lovely read I would definitely recommend this book.

The book was a simple, pleasant read, never diving deep into characters. It offered sweet moments but the ending came together in a bit of a rush.

A bit too repetitive at times but overall a very enjoyable chick-lit.
