Christian Liberty Nature Reader: Book K

Rate this book
In this first addition to the popular Christian Liberty Nature Reader series in many years, Christian Liberty Nature Reader Book K provides kindergarten students with a well-illustrated animal lesson for each letter of the alphabet. Students who have completed a kindergarten phonics program should be able to read this four-color book with minimal help. It includes a glossary at the back of the book to help young students understand highlighted vocabulary words in the text. (Christian Liberty Press) Text, 60 pages

My 5 year old (and 8 year old actually) loved this book!! It has an animal for every letter of the alphabet and has about 1.5 pages of info about the animal. It’s very simple, but educational (even I learned a few things!). I highly recommend this book and the rest of the Christian Liberty nature readers (I have also read level 1 with my kids). The higher levels are a little better, in my opinion, about being a living science book, but this one was still fantastic and a great intro for kindergarten age kids!

The Christian Liberty Nature Reader Book K was an interesting companion for our year of Memoria Press Kindergarten. While I did not love it enough to jump into wanting the rest of the levels that come after, it was a good introduction to nature this year through the alphabet as well. It was definitely a read aloud to the child reader as opposed to a child reading the reader (early reader), but perhaps she could read it independently next year.

It is a small size, stapled book with no spine, but that doesn't really affect it's usability as long as you can remember where on the shelf you've placed it. I'm glad that MP includes this book in the curriculum and I look forward to using it again with my younger children as they become of appropriate time for MP Kinder.
