Rate this book
Randall VanLandingham married the first time for duty. This time he wants much more. Everyone knows his new wife has a past, but he’s the one man powerful enough to stay the gossip while enjoying the fruits of her scandalous reputation. Anne is everything he wants in a woman—insatiable and interesting—but he’s growing damn tired of fending off every man who lusts after his duchess. How does one protect the honor of a woman who has none? How does one win the love of a woman who has shared her love with many?

Pragmatic Anne Porter, a Welsh coal miner’s daughter, learned how to use her beauty and sexuality to lift herself from poverty, and her plan was working perfectly. Until she married the handsome and much younger Duke of Pelham…Until she fell in love…

Hi everyone. Here's my bio but I moved to first person - it's not like I didn't write it! LOL I think romance writing is nearly as good as the real thing. Given my choice of professions, I would have preferred to be a 19th century archeologist, but I am perfectly happy living in the 21st century and comfortably writing about such romantic but inconceivably inconvenient times instead. (Just thinking about being a woman two hundred years ago makes me cringe.)

I love traveling, movies, everyone else’s novels and a good meal out with friends on Saturday night. My greatest flaw is that I believe there is such a thing as true love. Don’t tell me otherwise...please. Maybe that's really why I write to begin with.

Would love to hear about your recommendations for new historical romance writers.

Wicked Temptation is a historical erotica but it's not historical erotica that I particularly find fun to read, as the plot and the psychology of the characters are not imagined or thought out. Instead, we have a pretty basic plot and some basic sex scenes (anal, sex toys, tying up).

I picked this up because I loved the set-up of the older woman with younger man, ever since I read this pairing in Mary Balogh's A Promise of Spring, which tells the story of an "older" woman (30+ lol) who is very beautiful and a younger, handsome, and popular man (mid-twenties).

I don't know if I can describe it but erotic stories like Wicked Temptation lack passion. It had a very good set-up, to be honest. A jealous duke who thinks his wife is so beautiful and unable to settle with one man and is just waiting to have an affair. A wife who is older, comes from lower class, and thinks her husband only wants her as a sex object, doesn't see her as a wife or mother to his children.

Like, we could have had some passionate scenes of conflict from these two! Instead... Idk? The hero is jealous over the heroine's serious suitor. They don't really discuss anything. The hero is a dad to his kids. And then the big finale, which was out of left field.

I liked this hero a lot better than the one in book one but I wasn't crazy about the heroine. The sex was hot though.

In Wicked Temptation by Eliza Lloyd, Randall VanLandingham’s marriage to the sexy and scandalous Anne Porter is based on passion, not love. Anne and Rand are vexed to find that, as their lust for one another grows, so do their feelings.

Anne and Randall are engaging and well rounded protagonists who are not the typical aristocratic married couple. Anne comes from humble beginnings, and she uses her sexuality and beauty to gain financial security through advantageous marriages. She fully embraces her sensual nature, and actively pursues her sexual satisfaction. Her insecurities about the age difference between herself and Rand play a large role in her uncertainty about revealing her newly discovered love for her husband.

When his year of mourning ends, Randall seeks to engage the notorious Anne in a purely sexual affair. To his dismay, he discovers she is engaged to be married and the only way to bed the lascivious beauty is to wed her. Their sex life is beyond satisfying, but Rand is intensely jealous of his beautiful wife and lives in fear she will leave him and move on to her next sexual conquest.

Wicked Temptation by Eliza Lloyd is a highly erotic and unique story. An interesting subplot involving blackmail and kidnapping provide additional tension to this fast paced novella. The sex scenes between Anne and Randall are exquisitely carnal and incredibly arousing. Anne is no shrinking violet and she determinedly challenges Randall to defy traditional roles as both a husband and a father. The emotionally satisfying ending is heartwarming and leaves the reader eagerly anticipating Ms. Lloyd’s next installment in the Wicked Affairs series.

It took me a while to read this one because I found it a little boring.

The Mc's are married, have sizzling chemistry, and although they won't admit it, they like each other a lot. Anne's reputation isn't the best, so Rand is a little unsure of whether his wife won't choose to have a lover. Some dramatic events later, like a kidnapping 🥱, cause them to finally declare themselves.

It's a hot book, but the plot is kind of boring.

I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.
The first was super and this was amazing and breath taking.
The characters are very interesting, married for pleasure only and then they fall in love surprisingly for each other. Surprisingly for them cause i knew in the first book that Anne was already long gone for Randall.
This is a story of discovery. Discovery of new emotion as love and jealousy, fear to lose one another. Also the happiness of being a parent. He will try give a fatherly figure to his children unlike how he grew up and Anne will find love in being a step mother.
The only thing that i did not like is that after what happens to her that is really scary and scarring that she just gives herself to her husband. A woman that just had that situation would not want to have sex right after everything is over.
But for the rest, i'm still loving the book :) reading the third soon :)
Really erotic scenes.

The story begins with an odd and very creative plot: Anne and Randall are already married, but she falls in love with someone she shouldn't. How would her husband react to that? Especially when he's the person she fell for! The reader feels connected to Anne, such a lovely heroine, and starts to see things through her perspective, realizing what's true or not about this mysterious woman. By the end of the book Anne is surprised by a person, and this part can confuse and overwhelm you with information about that determinate character. Maybe it was a too-much-information issue only. Apart from that, I have no other constructive critique about this title. It's a hot and sexy reading with a very unique approach to a historical setting.

A well-written regency erotic romance about Anne Vanlandingham, first introduced in Wicked Desires #1, and her husband, Randall. I liked her character in the first book and she is just as good in her own book, as is her husband, Randel. Using her beauty and sex, Anne has worked her way up from being a poor coal-miner's daughter to marriage to Randel, a Duke, in order to have a safe, secure life. Now that she has it, she and her husband have to deal with her reputation, age difference and their love for each other. Ms. Lloyd does has done a great job in telling a great love story and giving the reader a nice glimpse of Regency England and the ton!

I had just finished another book by a different author when I decided to start this book. (I received a free copy thru GoodReads first reads program.) After 1 or 2 pages I thought I wouldn't be able to get into this book. I had never read a historical book like this one. I put it down and picked it back up the next day and completely changed my mind when I realized I was a few chapters into the story and had no desire to stop. This was an all new experience for me but I do feel I will definitely be interested in reading more books by this author.

There is something about this authors voice that I just really love. I had no idea how compelling an erotic regency romance could be but the obvious affection between the H/H (aside from the bedroom, which was aplenty), coupled with their insecurities and witty banter, made for a very entertaining read!

I bought this one from Kobo using a 45% off coupon.

Really good, Anne owned her sensuality, her husband loves her, starts off as ton marriage, grows, angst but wonderful resolution, characters felt authentic.

I'm looking forward to more books in this series.

I didn't like this as much as the previous one, only because it's a bit more dramatic and less about the internal issues. Not awful, not amazing.
