Magic is a dark power, forged by sorcerers from the winds of Chaos. Many use magic, from the scholars of the rich and powerful Colleges of Magic in Altdorf, the Elven high magicians of Ulthuan and the runesmiths of the Dwarfs, to the lowliest self-taught hedge-wizard or most secretive illusionist spy. None are its master; all feel the weight of its fearful shadow. The rewards of magic are tempting - to tap into the endless strength of the four elements, turn lead to gold, or harness the stars themselves and bend them to your will - but the risks are high. The people of the Old World dread sorcery; and its links to dark beliefs, forbidden cults, necromancy and daemonology make its users a target for witch-hunters and exorcists, who seek out unlicensed spell-casters and burn them at the stake.Realms of Sorcery is a complete guide to the magic of the Old World. The book includes in-depth background on magic in the Warhammer world, new careers for human and non-human magicians, higher levels of experience for existing careers, information on the magic of the Orcs, Skaven and Chaos worshippers. There are hundreds of new spells and magic items as well as rules for creating new ones, plus details on the Colleges of Magic, runes, familiars, new magical creatures, and expanded rules for many aspects of wizardry.

In addition to being an excellent guide to magic in the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying world, this book is also a great source of background material and ideas for your campaigns. If you ever see a copy for sale, do yourself a favour and pay the asking price.
