Perhaps the most famous magical Order of all time is the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Now you can partake of their magic and mystery every time you use Sandra Tabatha Cicero and Chic Cicero's Golden Dawn Magical Tarot.
Included in the protective slipcase is a box with the complete deck of seventy-nine cards (there is an extra one, as described in the Order's documents) and a 192-page book the same size as the deck. This makes it convenient to carry in a pouch or purse.
The deck is unlike any other deck avilable! It uses the magical flashing colors of the Golden Dawn as well as the color scales of the four worlds to add to the beauty and power of the images. Many of the images will be familiar while others will surprise you with their depth and symbolism. This was the secret deck used by A.E. Waite, Aleister Crowley, William Butler Yeats, and Israel Regardie. And now, you too can use it for divination and magic!
You are going to love the accompanying book, too! It has a complete introduction to the Qabalah, so you can access the deepest recesses of the cards' symbolism. Then it describes the meaning of each card and how to interpret them in a reading. The book goes on to reveal several Tarot card spreads, including the complete Golden Dawn system. Also included are several rituals ó including ones for protection, divination, and for consecrating your deck. Even the secrets of using the deck for astral projection are here. This is a deck you must have.
This specially designed tarot pack with accompanying instruction book is not intended for the casual user or for those whose interest in tarot is restricted only to divination. This is a pack specifically intended for use as a ritual tool in magical workings based on the system of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. The tarot holds a central place in the symbolic universe of the Golden Dawn, and the cards are used as the basis for meditation, astral projection, and magical rituals, which are all aimed at the spiritual advancement of the practitioner. To be sure, the cards are also used for divination, and instructions for that are given in the manual, but this pack is meant to be engaged with as part of a larger magical education and practice, and you should be aware of that if you're considering acquiring it.
If you do have that interest, then this pack is just what you're looking for. The Ciceros are adepts of the Golden Dawn, and the pack's images were executed by coauthor Sandra Tabatha Cicero in order to support those magical uses. The images are often striking, arresting, and provocative. The universe is a big place, and this pack is a kind of ladder to its highest reaches.
These cards feature very simplistic/cartoon-like/childish artwork; I really couldn't connect with them. They seem redundant with so many more interesting and better drawn decks around. One has to wonder why she bothered?
