Published in 1952 in paperback form, the book signatures (a group of folded, nested papers) are sewn together and then glued into the cover (modern paperbacks, the single pages are glued into the perfect binding). I liked novelty of this observation.

Being unfamiliar with the geography of Britain I had to read this while referencing google earth to keep my bearings. And the content matter was quite boring not having any physical contact with the region. Consequently it was a long tedious read.

fairly interesting. would benefit from aerial maps and perhaps more diagrams. seems strange that writing makes up most of the book.
