Mara is about to marry the wrong man and everyone knows it. At the eleventh hour, her roommates, Daniel and Jacob, devise a plan to steal the bride and keep her to themselves...forever.
When it comes to books and movies, Brynn Paulin has one rule: there must be a happy ending. After that one requirement, anything else goes. And it just might in any of her books.
Brynn lives in Michigan, where she likes to spoil her children and dogs—not necessarily in that order. She also loves to cook, travel and spend far too much time on social media. She enjoys mentoring and meeting new people and is always willing to chat. Personally, she finds great pleasure in spending time with her family and dogs, as well as volunteering around her community.
First published in June 2007 by Ellora's Cave, Brynn is the author of over 130 books, including the bestselling Daly Way and Taboo Wishes series.
According to Brynn, her writing success can be attributed to an eclectic collection of music, her local road construction crews, a trusty notebook, and of course, the people in her life who’ve finally accepted that everything is research—or will be.
This novel was kind of annoying. So her two roommates, whom she thought were gay, are actually bisexual. The heroine is getting married in a week or so, so she decides to plan a vacation, two hot roommates show up and confess their love for her. She has sex with them, even though she made a commitment to another man, then decides to break it off with her fiance. Then she finds out her fiance is actually gay and using her as a cover. Holy crap this book is just full of morals and values and yes that is sarcasm. For being a novella, it's already short but it wasn't short enough. The book was absolutely BRUTAL!
Since I can't quite choose between a 2 and 3 Stars... 2.8
Mara is about to marry... The wrong (kind of) guy. She's having second thoughts, so she decides to run and hide a bit before the wedding.
That's when her roommates and best friends, Daniel and Jacob show up at her hiding spot to convince her she's making the mistake of her life.
Daniel and Jacob are gays, but also like women (duh, bisexual). Specifically Mara. And they intend on making her change her mind... By talking to her, or fucking the daylights out of her.
Short, sweet and hot!! That was a quick cool read!!
I don't know about you but I love a good runaway bride story and add in a secret crush on her two roommates (and theirs for her) and hello this was a HOT read!
Seriously friends to lovers is one of my favorites to read, add in the fact that it's multiple friends to lovers and SWOON.
Loved the cover, it caught my eye right away and had me doing a double take and stopping to read the blurb.
I will admit that the blurb gave me no idea this would be a MMF romance with a MM love scene, so I may have had a few moments of 😳😳
"We’re desperate men, ready to go to desperate measures.”
Oh this was fun. I need more of this right here. If you like reading MMF books, you need to grab this baby up. No mention of anyone's past with other ppl, no abuse, no cheating, all POV, just an all around great read. I need more just like this. I can't stress this enough. 5 stars...bravo!
A cute little menage short to see out 2012!!! And to help me finish my challenge!! This was actually quite funny, I especially loved the star wars references at the beginning. Anyway hot and steamy, there is some m/m m/f and m/fm.
There’s something to be said about predictability and knowing where you are going in life, following the rules of society. But often when you “phone it in” to your life, you miss out on passion and love. Mara Nelson is finding that to be the case when she has second thoughts about her upcoming marriage to Marco. Mara is a smart and funny woman with the body of Botticelli’s Venus. She has curves and freckles making her feel insecure about herself with today’s society of skinny women. Living with two gay men, Daniel and Jacob, and working in New York, Mara decided that it was time to marry, so when Marco asks her to marry him, she agrees even though she has doubts and doesn’t really love him. Daniel and Jacob have been together as lovers and friends but they’ve been keeping a secret from Mara. They aren’t just gay, but bi-sexual and are in love with Mara. So when she leaves on a retreat to get her mind together before the wedding, what’s two guys to do but prove to her that she’s marrying the wrong man. Stealing the Bride is a romantic tale of a non-traditional relationship. Daniel and Jacob are comfortable with their own needs and in their unique lifestyle but have been harboring a desire for Mara to complete them. Each of the characters have flaws that make them realistic and interesting. They are dynamic and so much like real people that you will find yourself easily connecting with them. I really enjoyed the message of love that prevailed throughout Stealing the Bride. It didn’t matter what kind of relationship you were in or who you loved, it was more important that you felt love and gave love. To imagine having two wonderfully sexy guys at your disposal is every woman’s dream, and Stealing the Bride doesn’t disappoint in that regard. Not to mention the sex is smokin’ hot! I recommend Stealing the Bride for all those true romantics who believe in a “Happily Ever After” no matter what kind of relationship you’re in.
They kept a secret, it could of cost them their future.
Mara has a contract with Marco, a marriage of convenience, she wants babies and stability. Love would be wonderful but doesn't see that as part of her future., their relationship is business. You see she has these two hot, sexy roomates, Daniel and Jacob the issue is they are into each other. A week away from the wedding and Mara isn't sure she can actually do the marriage thing with Marco, she realizes that even though she'd get want she wanted, love would still be non exsistant and doesn't really want that anymore. Marco says get over it, see you in a week at the altar, he takes off for his bachelor's thing in Vegas, she was go go on a cruise, instead goes go the mountains go reflect. So where does this leave Daniel and Jacob? They've kept a secret from Mara for a year, its time go seek her out and tell her the truth, and steal the bride away from the biggest mistake of all 3 of their lives. All secrets revealed, even ones you didn't expect makes this story such a fantastic Happy Ever After.
Not sure I read it's first version, but I loved this one even if it was a minor reworked version with little edits. I really enjoy this author and was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the mfm book :-)
( minor spoiler but more a personal preference reveal: I love mfm books in this genre, but for some reason tend to stay away from mmf's ( although that lifestyle is present and welcoming amongst ppl in my life I love, for some unknown reason I seemed to not gravitate to it in the fiction realm).... Point being, with that in mind , it just shows how much better written this book had to me for that factor to not only fit in to what I liked while reading of the three's relationship, but actually add to what I loved about them, not detract! Brava author!
Plain Mara is set to marry her boring fiance, but her gay roommates plan to stop and at the same time keep with them forever.
I really liked this one. It was very erotic and had lots of hot sex in it--M/F/M, M/M/F, and M/M. The relationship seemed a bit fast but in actuality it wasn't since they had gotten to know each other as roommates for a year prior to this.
It had a really sweet HEA which was my favorite part of all. :)
I love that Mara can love both her men. I love that Jacob and Daniel, while so in love with each other, also have room in their hearts for Mara. This story is perfect in that it doesn't put any labels or judgement on who should be with who. I do feel the author may have rushed this one out because of the amount of editing errors. This is a problem you don't usually have with her books. It is still a wonderful love story.
Another quick, fun read for my late night insomnia. But it was another one that I wish had more of a plot to it. I love Paulin's writing, which is why I want more. The short reads are great, but it'd be nice to see them in a longer formatted story.
