Life promises for success? In three sections - explaining what success is, then breaking down the elements of success and then lastly the epitome - the heights and ultimate... Promises with meditations from the Word and then illustrated with a rich life of examples and well studied role models from history and actually also from ordinary persons who confronted him in moments of his life. I think the author has a very open mind towards going forward in life using everything he's got. He is also a team player and role model! He uses very rich and simple examples which are user friendly! For example in every section he also ends with a quote from somebody somewhere - one such quote towards the end : "Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible." - St Francis of Assisi. I ask you can you do that? Certainly! It makes for common sense. This inspires me. I can really recommend this book. Don't be fooled though, it is so rich that you have to meditate on some pages to really get the benefit...A good read.

First, let me say... I LOVE this little book. Life Promises for Success ~promises from God on achieving your best~ by Jim Tressel is a keeper.


On the rear cover of this book, Jim Tressel, the head football coach of Ohio State and author, says "If you're struggling with your place in the world, if things have become difficult and you feel like giving up, this little book will encourage you, lift you up when you're wrestling withlife, push you forward, and motivate you to be a better person-and a more vital part of whatever team you serve."

This is one of those books that you want to keep around to inspire and reassure you with quotes, short stories and touching messages of scripture. We all have bad days, sometimes we have more bad days than good. Life Promises for Success reminds us that we're not alone, that everyone experiences the down times and can use some encouragement and words of love.

As you turn each page of this sweet book, you are greeted with a few scripture messages on the left and then encouraging words on the right. The encouraging words are divided into categories like hope, generosity, enthusiasm, attitude and teamwork. You can flip to any page of the book and have a quick boost to your attitudes and demeanor.

I must also mention that the construction of this book just thrills me. Literally, the paper it is written on is beautiful. The cover is padded... PADDED!... and the pages are nearly cover stock weight. This book will most definitely stay with me to inspire me in the coming years.

I would definitely recommend Life Promises for Success for anyone.

Life Promises for Success was a very good, short read. This was a quick era, but had a lot of powerful verses and examples in the book. The reason the book gets a four star rating is because it sometimes repeated verses.
