I remember enjoying this book as a child but I did not necessarily enjoy it while reading this time. The illustrations are beautiful and abstract which could strike children's imagination. The storyline doesn't make much sense to me and I do not think it would benefit any child's education by sharing the story!
A little girl keeps asking her father if she can play with him or paint with him in his studio. He does fun things with her during breaks, but the studio is always off-limits. Finally, at the end of the day when his work is done, she can paint a picture with him in that special space. Double spread watercolors enliven the basic story. Good for parents who work from home.
This was a cool book. I felt genuinely sorry for his daughter throughout and I was happy to see her finally get the attention she'd been seeking at the end.
