Get ready for some serious science fun when the Friz takes on the most attractive topic of Magnetism!
Hi, I'm Carlos - one of the kids in Ms. Frizzle's class. I know Ms. Frizzle thinks of some weird ways to teach about science, but challenging Mr. O'Neatly's class to a science contest was her craziest idea to date. Mr. O'Neatly's class always wins everything!
The contest topic was magnetism, and we hadn't even started our unit yet. The Friz said she thought we'd have a natural attraction to the topic, but nothing could have prepared us for what happened next. Wait til' you hear about this!
This book was amazing, but It got boring a little bit but I powered through the book. It has a lot of information in this book, if you like magic school bus the you will like this book. This book is a stand alone so it doses not mater the order you read it in. I learned a lot from this book about magnetism. I am glad I finished the book. This book was like the show but no intro. I recommend this book if you like the show or if you like to learn about magnetism.
Loved it. Read it with my 4th and 5th graders and they for the most part really enjoyed it. Any time they didn't enjoy it it was just cos 5th graders are extra melodramatic lol. It's actually extremely informative about magnets. I will always love Ms. Frizzle, she's definitely goals in terms of teaching.
The story itself is not the most gripping, but there is lots of good info about magnets and how they work. There is a bit about videotapes--you may have to explain what a videotape is!
well done. does a great job of explaining magnetism and manners it fun. i know my nephews will be particularly interested in the magic tricks at the back of the book.
Ms. Frizzle and her class are learning about magnetism as a scavenger hunt against the other fifth grade class. Will they gather all the clues before the other class?
Everyone loves Ms.Frizzle and her magic school bus and in this episode(book) she teaches her class all about magnets. The students learn all about north and south poles as well as attracting and repelling, things they may have not done at their old school(Carlos).
We've read all of the Magic School Bus picture-books that we can find and now we're working our way through the Magic School Bus chapter books too. We just love the Friz and her class; the characters feel like old friends to us.
This story takes us on a trip to learn about magnets. I thought it was interesting that Ms. Frizzle's class is in a competition with the other third grade class and that they seem to always lose when they compete. It shows that the class is special, but not perfect, and I like it. The subject matter is interesting and we all learned a little bit more about the principles and applications of magnets.
We enjoyed reading this book together and we will certainly look for more of the books in this series at our local library.
Little above Riley's level. He likes them, cuz he loves the idea of a shrinking school bus, but the lessons are a little over his head. This is probably our last Magic School Bus book until Riley is a few years older.
I liked it. Teaches more about magnetism. But seriously, I'm still a little lost. Maybe it was because I missed a few pages in the beginning that my husband read instead.
