Pablo (From Til Death We Do Part) is still fighting to come to terms with the excruciating loss of two wives, but in his ongoing frustration, he starts to resort to violence, something he has formerly eschewed his entire life. He is a strong and powerful man, and seems to be in control to start with, but even so, he is conflicted within himself and seeks the help of a psychologist to help him understand and control his urges. However, the law of unforeseen consequences visits him with devastating effect, and he soon finds his actions snowballing beyond anything he intended or could have imagined and before long, he shockingly finds own life in the balance. Can fate send him a surprise guardian angel to salvage him from himself and his own folly?
This is a short, easy, fast paced, enjoyable read. I particularly liked that the main character, Pablo, was not only flawed, but also introspective. It was nice to see a manly man realized that therapy is a good thing. The excitement builds up throughout the novel and is filled with suspense and tension. The way that Beaches intertwines each of the characters’ story line was simply artful. I have not read the first book in this series, but I never felt like I was missing out on anything. In fact, had I not read that in the synopsis, I would have never known that this was a series. While most read books for entertainment value, there’s a lot to be learned in this book. Bravo to Beaches on a successful book.

Plot Summary: This is a story of Pablo Pinkerton who is a retired police officer and trying to deal with the tragic loss of his two wives. He decides to seek therapy and starts meeting his psychologist , in an attempt to find balance in his life. He is a strong willed man, who does not want to resort to violence. However he often finds his conscience coiled into situations where he cannot control himself. After all he has the skills and the moral reasons behind it. While he is trying to balance between dealing with his emotions, and controlling his urges , the consequences of his own actions throw a curveball at him.
My review: My brain has been spinning in circles ever since I finished this book. This phenomenal book has all the elements of a thriller. Twists, secrets, conspiracies, sudden turns and the ability to keep you at the edge of your seat. I bet anyone in a reading rut can pick this book and would have a hard time walking away without finishing it. It is absolutely unputdownable.
The character of Pablo Pinkerton is outlined at a great depth. He is a retired police officer, dealing with intense grief, yet he is responsible and strong willed enough to take control of his mental health by seeking therapy . The sessions with the psychologist help him channelize his anger and agony into something productive. The sessions sometimes get intense and are very well written. Despite the therapy, Pablo's character keeps turning towards the dark side and his conscience forces him to get into situations where violence is the only solution (according to him). After all, he has the extraordinary skills and the moral reasons behind that. But with every situation, he is compromising his safety and putting himself in danger. Throughout the story , the reader empathizes for Pablo and roots for him, while he keeps dealing with the ramifications of his own poorly made decisions. The reader wants Pablo to come out of emotional turmoil but his character finds it hard as his morals are forcing him to explore the dark side.
There are a bunch of other characters as well that are perfectly placed and written to support the story and make it more vigorous. Each character plays a significant role in Pablo’s journey as he delves for mental peace, and redemption.
The highlight of this novel is the plot driven approach taken by the author which keeps the reader engaged with the story. The heart pounding sequence of events are monumental, yet they are introduced with the same accelerated momentum that keeps you connected throughout the story. The second half specifically gets really eventful and power packed with action sequences that get graphical, painting a vivid image of the horrific situations. Readers who love to read action scenes, would really enjoy this book.

My Final Thoughts:
Even though the book is for entertainment purposes, it does dole out some valuable lessons which we all can learn from. Firstly, it tells us how even though there are times when we feel like simply giving up would be the easy way out, we should keep going, just like Pablo did, as there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

This was an amazing series with a great flow to it. Instead of taking an independent story the way all series books are connected is amazing.
thanku to the author for sending this over to me ! 🩶 i sat and read this book in one sitting, i found the premise of the story really enticing. pablo is ex-police so knows exactly how they work which aids his new life “venture”. the text adopts the vigilante trope with pablo taking his own life frustrations out on the wrongs of society and those who have not been punished. upon starting the book i was instantly intrigued by the dedication which heralds thanks to a humanist psychologist who he had spoken to alongside writing the book in order to evoke realism into the life of pablo and his experience in therapy. this in itself shows dedication of time and thought that bruno has put into writing this book. pablo is a morally grey character with a capacity for introspection , i don’t love nor hate him, and he’s neither good nor bad - however i did feel frustrated with him at times. in terms of plot and reading experience i did feel a bit thrown when i hit chapter 5 as new names and characters were thrown in. whilst i understand characters have got to be introduced some how, i do just feel as if it was disjointed and ruined the flow that had developed by this point. then at other parts of the book i felt like as the reader i was experiencing narrative whiplash as i’m quickly moving between lenny and pablo and back; i often found myself a bit lost and confused. also felt as if certain things were just thrown in, like pablos reconciliation with a past girlfriend (i do understand pablo features in another book, so perhaps this would be more relevant given more context of his character) the book ends on a clif hanger! as things are not necessarily resolved and chaos remains. despite the issues with the plot, i did read all of this in one sitting so i was hooked; i definitely put this down to the idea of where or what the main character was going to do next as he was dishing out his own sense of justice - i kinda wish this was explored more! however, i did enjoy this read!

Consequential urges
By Bruno Breaches
There's no way around it: breakups are hard. It's completely normal to feel sad and alone, even if you broke things off yourself. But although you feel depressed, sad, and alone, you're allowed to wallow and grieve. Take some time to miss that person, cry over some sad quotes, watch a sad movie while downing your favorite junk food if you need to. When you're feeling up to it, talk things through with a trusted friend or family member.
If none of the above sounds like the right way to go, consider that this could be a time of self-reflection or even a fresh start but never choose a wrong path.

Overall, "Consequential Urges" is a gripping and thought-provoking novel that will stay with readers long after they have turned the final page.
Highly recommended for fans of psychological thrillers and character-driven dramas.
My mind dances in joy now a days whenever I see a new book from the best selling author Bruno Beaches. I find all of his works captivating to keep your mind away from the daily chaos of mundane necessities. His new book 'Consequential Urges' is no exception. It has enthralling plot twists with amazingly scripted story that can entertain you for sure. The characters and their in depth sketching that always have foot in reality, leave no stone unturned to make this read a phenomenal time pass. Like always this time too Bruno delivers quality dialogues to level up the quality that never bores the reader.
'Consequential Urges' represents the character Pablo from 'Till death we do part' who is now torn with his inner turmoils and angst after loss of his two wives. The agony is chewing up his mental peace and pushes the troubled man towards violence that already has enough damage done in his pained life. Pablo seeks a refuge from this trauma urgently and finds a psychologist who came like an angel. Now the story revolves around Pablo's violent refute from his life's problems and how he finds his mental sanity. Providing a wholesome thriller isn't an easy task and believe me it's one of the best. As always Bruno Beaches again delivered another masterpiece to keep you hooked till the very last page. This one is literally a prized possession for any Thriller fan.
Consequential Urges was a book of redemption and self discovery for Pablo. I’d rate it 3.5/5 stars. Pablo is going through life still trying to recover from the trauma 2 divorces, his work as a police officers and trying to figure out what to do with his future. He has become a “curiosity to himself” and in order to solve the mystery that he is he seeks the help of a professional therapist. However, what he doesn’t tell his therapist is how he has been getting increasingly more aggressive, destructive and has become quite the vigilante! For an indie author I thought this was a nice book. I really enjoyed how Beaches used his own life experience as a police officer to make the story believable. I really was impressed that Beaches recruited the guidance of a real psychologist to get a better understanding of the therapy process and to create a realistic atmosphere between Pablo and Cynthia. I did however feel that the dialogue between many of the characters wasn’t realistic. I felt the men said “bro” and “mate” way to frequently and it took away from their conversations. I know this story was about overcoming the darkness inside of Pablo but I really enjoyed him as a dark vigilante angel! I know if justice went unanswered for my loved ones I would want to get that justice for them!
Another excellent and very thrilling book by Bruno Beaches. Pablo was such a well developed character, not only did I want to follow his frightening experiences, I also wanted to get to know him as a person. What I particularly liked about this book was how it left me questioning my own thoughts about what is morally correct. Pablo plays anti-hero. He is not some pyscho who only thinks violence, he just wants revenge on people he truly believe deserves it. On people who have hurt someone innocent. This makes you wonder: do they deserve it? Should Pablo have taken the law into his own hands?!
Of course there is underlying reasonining for his extreme anger and desires, which we find out through his counselling sessions. These were so interesting and I'm sure some people may even find them helpful to their own life.
Pablo finds himself down a dangerous path from his actions. This was so gripping to follow! I powered through the second half this evening.
The book is smart, interesting, gripping and is a proper thriller which leaves you wanting to know more. The characters are well developed and memorable. Despite some tough topics, there are also funny and witty moments too.
Overall, a great book and I highly recommend if you love thrillers but also want a lesson in life!
I had absolutely no idea that this was a series but I feel like it didn’t matter that I hadn’t read it because it didn’t impact on my experience.
I really love how this book discussed male’s mental illness, it’s a topic that I feel like isn’t discussed enough in literature and it always makes me happy to see it get the attention that it deserves.
Pablo was such a refreshing MC - I instantly liked him and wanted to know more about him. I loved how he was flawed but he wasn’t afraid to show his flaws, he was quite open about them and he did want to be a better person. I loved his relationships with Lenny and Rebecca and quite liked both of them as characters too. I also liked Harry but he wasn’t in the book as much. There were characters that I certainly wanted to know more about and I did find myself often get confused about who some of the characters were, as there was quite a lot of them.
I enjoyed the writing style. It was quite a fast paced, short read which had a lot of action going on. It was easy to picture what was going on as it unfolded in the book. There were parts that seemed a bit unbelievable for me and I wish they were expanded upon a bit more to provide closure to the book, unless there’s another book to come that addresses it?
Despite it being a brief mention, there was also derogatory language towards people with substance use disorders where they are addressed as “drug addicts”. This kind of language adds to the negative bias and stigma associated with people who have a substance use disorder. It also isn’t person first language, which is encouraged when discussing people with substance use disorders. There was also a description where a Black person was described as being “as black as the ace of spades”, which shouldn’t have been used as a descriptor as it’s racist and is so unnecessary to describe a character’s skin colour in that way. Similarly, I don’t think “not special like you, you know, special needs” should have been included either as this is ableist.
⚠️ CWs: mental illness, derogatory language, physical assault, blood, torture, violence, medical content, injury detail, confinement, kidnapping, alcohol use, cursing; mentions suicide, suicidal ideation, cheating, masturbation, rape (off page), attempted murder, drug use, person with alcohol use disorder, prostitution, sexual content, child death, ableism, racism ⚠️
Another intriguing thriller book by Bruno Beaches. Bruno knows how to write a unique story and engage the reader flawlessly.
This novel revolves around the protagonist named pablo.
Pablo is highly dealing with all the miseries of his life, After losing his wives, suffering mentally, he is lost in his agony. In order to survive, he attempted violent acts, and it made all th difference in his life. The other characters were amazing too, Authors character building is very well as always, it is his third book i'm reading and i literally became his fan.
It was quite unexpected for me to read the protagonist's character from a good nature consisted person to a trauma filled one. He is a strong person by personality but he is conflicted within himself and seeks the help of a psychologist to control his urges. The message of the book was really an important one. After completing the entire book i was just like "WOW" What a read!!
If you are a thriller lover then consequential urges is the perfect read for you. Language was lucid, cover page was catchy, and a well written thriller read.
Firstly I would like to say the plot is well paced, with enough twists and turns to keep the reader hooked up. One thing that was absolutely attractive was the addition of a psychologist as a supporting character, made it more tempting, and along with that it highlighted the point of seeking help while struggling with mental health issues.
Pablo the Protagonist of the story still struggles for the agony of losing his two wives, but out of frustration, all of a sudden he begins to use violence. Which was something he hated and avoided for this entire life. However the law of unforeseen consequences strikes him with devastating force, he soon realised that his actions have a bitter impact that he could never ever anticipate.
The characters in the stories are powerful and flawless. Many parts were relatable as well. The suspense was built successfully by the author. The stories are written in a straightforward manner but still the language is reader friendly.
Overall consequential urges is a gripping and thought provoking novel. It's a type of thriller that will make you realise how our mind and anger plays a part in destroying our life when we are broken. I would love to recommend this to you all out there.
