She would never know her real dad. And that fact made Noelle Greenwood desperate to connect with his family, even if it meant assuming a false identity to gain their trust. And if she had to hook up with sexy playboy Colin Mayes in a risky game of seduction to claim her birthright—a share of River Oaks, the legendary stud farm Colin co-owned with her grandfather—she would do it. But when Colin sparked real passion in her, Noelle's pretend affair spiraled out of control….
Noelle had turned Colin's world upside down. Then he discovered her true identity. She'd used him to get River Oaks. Furious, Colin vowed to end their relationship. But as hard as he tried, he couldn't seem to get the nights they'd shared out of his system or Noelle out of his heart!
Even as a child Candice Poarch was a dreamer and created scenes in her mind. She quickly fell in love with writing stories centered around families and romance. The quest for love is universal, she says. Being familiar with rural Virginia, she portrays a sense of community and mutual support in her novels, many of which are set in small-town America.
Candice grew up in Stony Creek, Virginia, south of Richmond, but now resides in northern Virginia. She has been married for thirty years and is the mother of three children. A former computer-systems manager, she has now made writing her full-time career.
This is the second novel I've read by Mrs. Candice Poarch and I enjoyed this way more than "Sweet Southern Comfort". This was a fast-paced romantic tale. Couldn't put it down 'til I was finished. I enjoyed the intense passion between Colin and Noelle. The characters were well developed and even the secondary characters were quite memorable and oftentimes added some great LOL moments to the story. George was definitely "good people" and you couldn't help feeling sorry for him, but you also felt his joy when he discovered the truth about Noelle. A sweet, quick, romantic, and humorous read! Definitely looking forward to reading more about Mackenzie Avery's offspring!
