Reading about Ghandi's life from Ghandi, is VERY different from watching the movie "Ghandi". He accomplished marvelous things, but in his own words he comes across as pathologically introspective. His account is obviously a little self serving and justifying. On the other hand, perhaps it was his sincere concern for how to live properly that made him so powerful. There isn't much of that kind of care about living "right" in today's world. I suspect few modern readers would appreciate this book. I couldn't live his way for many reasons, one of which is that I don't believe in some of the things he did. But I am glad I read his story.
