This is the first book in an exciting new vampire series filled with intrigue, mystery, romance and thrills. Read the reviews, people everywhere are saying how they cannot put this book down and cannot wait until the next book in the series comes out so they can continue to see what happens next. Forsythea Daniels is starting a new life on Long Island in the city of Pellman, and with a job at the local newspaper, life seems to be going her way; but when the sun goes down, she is finding that it is not always safe to walk the streets. While photographing a crime scene on her first assignment, she meets the dangerously handsome Edric, whose convincing lie keeps her away from his community's secrets--for now. Thea's innocence awakens a darkness within Edric, a distraction he cannot afford because he has his own battles to fight. Edric knows what is happening to the children of Pellman, and he has sworn to put a stop to it. For he is the law; he is the judge; he is the executioner. A quest for information entangles Forsythea in a dangerous game she never imagined could exist and, in order to survive, she must come to terms with the fact that there are indeed things that go bump in the night, and nothing is as it seems. Seasoned Detective Joe Gordon is becoming more and more aware that something is just not right in his city. His gut is telling him that the local photographer for the paper knows more than she is letting on. Will Joe stumble upon the REAL law of Pellman? THE EXISTENCE is the first in a series of fantasy novels that grips the reader in the first chapter. It is about a young woman trying to find her place within two different worlds. Caught up in romance, suspense and danger, Forsythea Daniels finds following her heart could mean her life.

A very decent story, nothing too over-the-top. But I do have some issues, mainly concerning the plot of the story.
