I enjoyed reading these short stories with the bright illustrations. I think that it taught me quite a lot about Sikhs and what they believe and how their religion has formed.
A collection of short stories about different Sikh gurus. Each is a teaching story with a lesson learned at the end. Begins with a very brief introduction (1 paragraph) to the Sikh religion, so those unfamiliar with its tenets/beliefs will need something supplementary.
These stories are the perfect length for small kids, i.e., not too long, and use appropriately simple language. A very nice touch is the combination of photos and bright illustrations which accompany the stories. And what made it 5-star is the addition of various facts and historical information in the form of a Glossary and "Did You Know" text boxes.
