The book has been planned to serve as a textbook for undergraduate students of Metallurgical, Chemical and Mining Engineering. It will also serve as a useful reference book for the postgraduate students of Ore Processing/ Mineral Dressing and Applied Geology. The subject matter is updated and thoroughly revised. Various corrections are also incorporated. The subject matter has been arranged in 20 chapters. The first four chapters deal with minerals and background of mineral processing. Next two chapters deal with comminution (crushing and grinding) being an essential step in all ore processing flow sheets. Chapter 7 deals with movement of solids in fluids and classification, the understanding of which is essential in the design of solid-liquid separation and classification units. Gravity concentration methods have been discussed in three chapters.
