This reminds me of Jack and Annie. If children are looking for a similiar type series. This book is a good introduction about ancient egypt for children and mummies.

Independently read and rated by Kate. "Peril at The Pyramids" is the second book in the new "Secret in the Attic" series by L.A. Peacock. Brother and Sister Josh and Jess find a magic time-compass in the attic that can transport them through time. In this book they are whisked back to ancient Egypt. It was a quick read, but Kate enjoyed it.

Didn't like this one as well as another in the series, maybe because of all the gods, but it is historical fiction. Re read this forgetting I already had. The last part the kids were not to tell anyone of their travel adventures. Much talk about the afterlife steeped in superstition and falsehoods without telling the truth to its readers.

This was a good children's book to read. I can actually remember reading it when i was younger but I didn't like how short it was.
