A hostile takeover or a merger of the hearts?

CAROLINE’S SEDUCTION is the fourth book in the Montgomery Family and Friends series. It is a contemporary romance with a strong sense of secondary characters and a happily-ever-after ending. It features a sexy hero who makes his living as a corporate raider, a feisty redhead prepared to protect her heart from a hostile takeover and what could be the most important merger of both their lives!

Caroline Johnson who was introduced in A MONTGOMERY MARRIAGE had her heart shredded by Kyle Wakefield four years earlier. She eventually moved out of state to put more miles between her and his memory. Now through a twist of fate their paths have crossed once more. Caroline discovers that the quiet girl in the back of her classroom is Kyle’s daughter. Despite a fast growing friendship with Sarah Wakefield, Caroline continues to keep Kyle at a distance.

An attempted kidnapping of Caroline and Sarah from the school parking lot is thwarted, but an injury to Caroline results in amnesia. Kyle has been fighting his attraction to Caroline ever since she's walked back into his life. He assumes responsibility for Caroline's safety and moves her into his house. He won't be happy though until she's back in his bed thus Caroline's seduction begins.

Kyle, the supposed H. is a major jerk throughout the story, there is no possible redemption for his asshattedness outside of a demeaning death and eternal torment ala the Sisyphus type (you know the Greek king who continually lied and murdered his way around and wound up pushing a huge rock up a hill only to have roll back down for eternity) see entry here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sisyphus.

Look we all have bad romances and some of us have divorces but that is no excuse to harass, abuse and berate a woman whom you chased and started a relationship with, then accuse her of stalking when you spitefully dump her and she is trying to let you know of impending fatherhood. There is also no excuse for leaving your child stranded at school no matter how important a corporate rip off artist you are. Sadly the only redemption for Kyle I would have accepted at this point was getting shot to death by the attempted kidnapper.

Kyle was nematode dropping scum, Caroline should never have taken him back, to seduce her while she was amnesic was an act of unconscionable callousness and proved that the only thing Kyle cared about was Kyle. The absolute failure of this abusing narcissistic asshat to redeem himself makes an unbelievable romance and the only benefit of this story was to vividly illustrate how a man who is a womanizing chauvinistic player never really changes and should be avoided at all costs.

Writing style bland. Emotionless. Didn't believe the heroine fell in instalove with hero. She knew it was all about casual sex.
I didn't believe the heroine's naivete. She wasn't a virgin. She wasn't sheltered. I just couldn't be angry with the hero breaking up with her. They weren't in love just hooking up.

Bailed early cause the storytelling was underwhelming.

Caroline meets millionaire Kyle while she is a twenty-two year old student. A terrible breakup. A positive test. A miscarriage. Now a teacher and she finds his daughter is now her student. The Montgomery women surround her with love. What will fate do?

I loved everything about this book except for one thing. The storyline was great, the characters were even better. It was all wonderful! Except that the conflict didn't feel fully addressed. They mentioned it and then pretty much just said yeah I love you. I would have liked a little more discussion too finish out the story.
