Questo saggio di Lacoue-Labarth e Jean-Luc Nancy tenta di delineare la genesi filosofica ed estetica del mito nazi. Dalla fine del Settecento la cultura tedesca ha cercato di individuare, ora nella lingua, ora nel pensiero, ora nell'arte, il terreno sul quale costruire la propria identità nazionale alla luce di un confronto con gli altri stati europei. Gli autori mettono in luce il ruolo svolto dal richiamo costante al modello archetipo della Grecia (non solo quella classica ma della Grecia arcaica, dei miti e dei misteri oscuri e violenti) e il modo attraverso cui questo processo ha trovato lo sbocco necessario nella costruzione artificiosa del mito razzista fondato sulla parola d'ordine «terra e sangue».

Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe—philosopher, literary critic, and translator—is one of the leading intellectuals in France. He teaches philosophy and aesthetics at the University of Strasbourg. Among his works translated into English is Typography: Mimesis, Philosophy, Politics (Stanford paperback edition, 1998).

Em tempos em que se retumbam gritos e ovações em favor de uma entidade cujo apelido é "mito", é importante entender as origens desse "adjetivo". Em O Mito Nazista, os autores não somente explicam a construção doas lógicas que fizeram o partido nazista ascender ao poder na Alemanha, como também apresentam uma discussão sobre a etimologia da palavra mito e como os mitos perseveram nas sociedades remontando à Grécia Antiga, mas sempre mimetizando e se apropriando de fenômenos do passado com uma nova roupagem. Esta edição além de trazer o texto O Mito Nazista, também apresenta outro artigo de Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe chamado O Espírito do Nacional-Socialismo e seu Destino.

This remains a fundamental text in terms of a "critique of ideology" (less in the critical-theoretical sense of a critique of ideological actualities, than it is a critique of "ideology" as such - critique of its transcendental conditions, constitutions, as effectuations (which could also be used to critique such critical-theoretical critiques of ideology)). In questioning how mythicization or mimetic figuration is at the ground of, operating as the mise-en-scène of, political ideology in the formation of a nation, a state, a people, Lacoue-Labarthe and Nancy open a question which remains pertinent today. Not only because of the continual simmering of fascism in contemporary politics around the world, but also as necessary critique of the grounds (often blindly and naively accepted) of democracy and liberalism. As Lacoue-Labarthe and Nancy note, these political modes or figures are equally open to critical questioning, as they are equally open to fascistic ideological mythicization. Political questioning must seek deeper than the platforms and programs of parties and the promises and words they proffer and propose - what must be questioned is the figures they pre-sent, what they posit and propose, in terms of the figuration of the political and how this configures identity in terms of the subject. Fascism is fascism, whether of the right or the left; such directional positions are but fictional setting-to-stand of figures for the life of a country, and thus have no more bearing than the myths and figures they propose to promote and inscribe. The demand for thinking the political, for critical questioning (of the transcendental implications of the political), remain before us. We have yet to escape from mythicization, and thus from the real possibility of repeating the same abhorrent potentials latent in such figurations of existence and thought.

Lecture philosophique intéressante qui démontre pourquoi le nazisme fut différent d'autres états totalitaires du passé (ou actuels) et pourquoi le néo-nazisme latent ou déclaré au sein de certains groupuscules ne constitue pas une menace similaire (heureusement!) à la vision créée par Hitler.
La notion de Weltanschauung permet de comprendre la portée de ce mythe nazi et permet de comprendre le processus d'endoctrinement et d'aveuglement de tout un pays jusqu'à sa frange la plus éduquée et cultivée.

La verdad es que es un libro que me gustó mucho. Creo que hay dos cosas que me indisponen a leer cosas sobre el nazismo. Primero, la falta de originalidad y la repetición de argumentos. Segundo, la poca relevancia que tiene para el mundo latinoamericano. Sin embargo, me parece que Nancy y Lacoue-Labarthe sortean exitosamente ese problema. Si alguien tiene esas mismas reticencias a leer temáticas de este tipo por esas razones, creo que lo van a disfrutar.

Texte remarquable sur le pourquoi et le comment de la construction du mythe nazi. Texte qui mériterait un développement bien plus long !
Cette analyse du mythe nazi peut aussi nous aider à comprendre certains enjeux et risques actuels liés à la problématique ( ou la crispation ?) identitaire qui traverse et innerve l'Europe aujourd'hui - laquelle est sans doute une réaction à la crispation identitaire du monde arabo-musulman. A cette aune, il est légitime d'être inquiet.
