Bring an orchestra to the classroom every day! In this three-part program, students encounter the instruments of the standard orchestra; learn how the parts of the orchestra fit together; and study an orchestra as it performs five representative works from the Baroque Era to the Twentieth Century. "Inside the Orchestra" boxed readings in the text trace the evolution of the orchestra and provide additional context for understanding the video material. Available to teachers as a 60-minute videotape, and to students as a CD-ROM, bound into each copy of Understanding Music.
