DEEP DISCLOSURE written by Dee Davis
Book #4 in the A-Tac Series
09/11 - Grand Central Publishing - Mass Market Paperback, 368 pages

If no one knows me, do I still matter to someone?

Living your life hiding in plain sight was stressful and draining for Alexis Markham but she had it perfected after all these years. She had been running from someone, who lurked somewhere, trying to get back something she has, and yet knows nothing about. Alexis only knows one fact everyone in her life that she has ever cared about is dead over this unknown item she does not have. When she survives yet another attempt on her life, her salvation comes to her rescue in the form of Tucker Flynn. Alexis wants to believe he is on her side but everything she has been taught tells her to keep her guard up and her few possessions close.

Tucker’s story makes sense when he says the words to her but Alexis has his stats run, and even though everything checks out still she is not sure. She believes he is too good to be true because white knights do not just show up and save you, do they. Alexis question's how a man can have a connection to her that knows how to shoot, hot-wire a car and keeps her one-step ahead of the force that is behind the intent to kill Alexis.

All these things are true enough because Tucker is part of an elite organization known as A-Tac a secret, fringe group of the government and he knows all about black ops and trying to stay alive just like Alexis. Tucker and A-Tac have the capabilities to make anything appear to be something it is not and once Tucker gets close to Alexis he discovers he wants to stay there for more than professional reasons. She is not weak or frail but completely battered and worn down by the life she is forced to lead. Tucker is determined to be her salvation and in perhaps she can help him out as well.

Alexis knows better than to get comfortable or to relax because that is when another bomb will go off or a body show up bleeding to death on her floor. She wants to trust Tucker, but can she truly, after all these years think someone may have answers to her questions when the seeds of doubt and the hint of lies are planted. Alexis runs and tries to escape from this nightmare but again Tucker turns out to be the answer to her prayers and maybe she will believe in fate. This horror runs very high up and the secrets that come out of the darkness finally make Alexis choose whom she will believe.

I have loved this series from the first book and felt from that point forward that there could never be enough books in this series. I am grateful that this series continues and with each book, Dee Davis shows how great a scary mind can work!

High Octane Action
She didn't know what a normal life was, being born while her family was on the run after her father's job with a top secret government project long ago blew up in his face. Alexis Markham, of course not her real name, has lived a lifetime in the shadows, staying as far off the grid as possible. Especially after that night when she was seventeen, the night her family's house blew up with her parents and older brother inside. She's been on her own ever since, her only connection to her tragic past being one old family friend who just got out of prison.

Then he, too, is killed and her identity compromised. Just like that, Alexis Markham's life is under fire. She is forced to acknowledge that whatever her father did to bring the wrath of the government down upon her head long after his death, they won't stop pursuing her until she's as dead as the rest of her family.

Former A-Tac deep cover operative Tucker Flynn is no longer too high on the idea being retired from the dangerous job in which he excelled. In short he's bored, cranky, and not a little surly about the inactivity. Or he was until his late morning coffee ritual turned into a truly explosive experience.

One of the lucky ones, Tucker was able to drag himself out of the rubble of what had been his preferred coffee shop with nothing worse than ringing ears and a few cuts and bruises. The bomb had been under the table of an older man he had seen sitting in the back and almost took Tucker out as well, but what really made him suspicious was the beautiful young woman he'd watched argue with the victim before storming out in a huff.

He didn't know if she responsible for the bomb. He had no idea who she was or where she went. And Tucker had no idea just what he'd landed smack in the middle of. In fact, Tucker knew only two things: he would find her...and he was no longer bored.

Never let it be said that Davis can't write pulse-pounding action. The pace of the plot starts fast, the story hits hard, and there is little in the way of down time before the final page. I was struck several times as I was reading by the thought of just how easy it was to imagine this book made into a summer blockbuster movie. One of those bullets-flying, car-crashing, life-on-the-line thrillers that would draw in the masses.

It was also very much like a summer action blockbuster in that it didn't exactly stay close to realism - for all the bullets flying, bombs exploding, and cars chasing there didn't seem to be many cops, firemen, or other emergency personnel around. Not even any nosy neighbors despite the populated urban areas of some of the scenes. Maybe I'm weird for noticing, but some of it was so obvious and incomprehensible in its absence that it pulled me out of the story, like when a massive shootout at a residence doesn't draw any police scrutiny and the house isn't a crime scene when the owner returns...only to engage in another shootout.

Davis did a great job setting up Alexis as a completely sympathetic heroine. I could easily empathize with her solitude, loneliness, and fear, but enjoyed her strength and willingness to jump in and help her situation in the face of dire threats and dangers. Tucker, too, was a solid action hero-type male lead. He played the truth fast and loose, true, but was a good guy even with some murky motivations. They worked well together.

What I wasn't completely sold on was the romance thread. With such a fast plot, there just wasn't enough time or attention given to the relationship evolution for me to really embrace and enjoy the intended chemistry between them. I also wasn't convinced that Tucker had truly resolved his issues with his past relationship before he suddenly was claiming deep emotion for Alexis. The lack of development in the romance just didn't provide the necessary evolution of Tucker's emotions for me to really believe in their HEA.

I haven't read previous books in the series, so it's entirely possible that I would've understood more about the enemies of A-Tac and been more engaged in the danger they possessed as they moved in the background of the narrative. That lack didn't prevent me from enjoying the primary external conflict of Alexis' storyline, but I think I missed a lot of the significance of the characters working against them all. It's just a feeling I got while I was reading.

The resolution to the primary external conflict was jerky and abrupt, and the end was heavily laden with an emotional resolution between Alexis and Tucker that I don't think was supported by the story. I can't fault the action that pounded throughout the book, though.

The action is top notch, the plot had a few issues, the story lacked some plausibility, and the romance didn't work for me. All in all, the book had its good points and its less good points, but for me it all boils down to this: a romantic suspense can only work for me when both the romance and the suspense work, or if one is so superlative that I'm more forgiving of any lack in the other. This one didn't quite fall into either category. Part of that is probably the fact that I haven't read the preceding books in the series. A small part. The rest is what it is.

Compared to the last book, this was definitely weaker. I actually found myself skimming the sex scenes so I could get back to the plot. That's not a good thing when it comes to romance. You want it all, story and smut. I did like seeing Tucker get his own book though. He's a great character who can carry his own. His love interest, who's name I've already forgotten, was kinda annoying. But they compliment each other and I'm happy with their happy ending.

***original review posted at Romancing Rakes***

From a sleepy little town in California to the plains of West Texas to a bank in New Orleans to a cabin near South Fork to an office of a man bent on finding the formula for aerosolizing biotoxins in Montreal to a liberal arts college that is a front for A-Tac in New York, I was taken through a dangerous high octane adventure of flying bullets at every turn, buildings getting blown up worthy of a Michael Bay production, betrayal, attraction, adrenaline pumping action, twist and turns you don't see coming. Good grief! I couldn't put this book down.

Alexis Markham has been on the run since the night her whole family died in an explosion due to her father's involvement with creating something that could tip the scales in chemical warfare. She should have died in that explosion but due to her sneaking out to go to a game instead of the library, she survives. Her father's friend George takes her away and gives her a new identity so everyone will think she also died that night.

Tucker Flynn, presumed dead in Colombia when an undercover operation went awry, is rescued by his brother. Betrayed by his fellow operative and losing the love of his life to the hands of his traitorous operative, he's a scarred and closed off man.

From the moment Tucker sees Alexis walking into the cafe where he's having his customary cup of coffee and caramel roll, he's intrigued. He observes the her and her older friend talking, laughing and having an argument. Alexis storms out and the booth she was previously sitting in with George gets blown up. Tucker realizes that something is off. He throws himself into the investigation, going as far as introducing himself to Alexis as an old friend of George.

With the help of A-Tac, Tucker's back story regarding his history with George is implanted into the system in case someone goes snooping to confirm it. Alexis asks a friend to look Tucker up and confirm who he is. At first, she's leery of why he's helping her but the attraction between them starts to grow. Thrown into the mix is resident computer hacking guru Harrison. He helps with Alexis and Tucker's flight from the unknown bomber as they race against time to prove that neither George or Alexis are trying to selling the formula to the highest bidder. Alexis becomes suspicious as Tucker and Harrison are able to obtain get away vehicles, top secret information and anything else to help them get away from the men trailing them.

Alexis's past resurfaces and her world come crashing down. Everything and everyone she has known aren't who they seem and the worst betrayal doesn't come from Tucker (who she realizes is with the government and not a friend of George's from prison) but from her own family.

Alexis goes from not trusting anyone and running, always looking behind her to finding a group of people who automatically accept her as one of their own. At least the ladies of A-Tac do. Tucker can't believe this woman has gotten under his skin. He's willing to stick with her come hell or fire power. As the stakes get higher, the chemistry gets hotter and a jaw dropping secret is revealed, Tucker and Alexis must put aside their doubts, stand together and find their happily ever after. All while trying to stay one step ahead of 2 factions wanting a go at the formula for aerosolizing biotoxins and dodging gun toting hired muscle.

FAVORITE QUOTE:
"Alexis felt as if she'd been dropped into some kind of fractured fairy tale where the evil king captures the prince and demands the princess give him up in order that he could live."

OVERALL: Um, Dee Davis, where have you been all 6 months of my romantic suspense reading life? Heart pounding action, cinematic worthy explosions, car chase scenes that Michael Bay would be proud of, betrayal, danger, a sizzling attraction that even flying bullets and bombs can't deter. Now this dear readers is how you get the blood pumping and the page turning faster and faster. From the first page until the last, I couldn't get enough. This was a series I jumped into and boy howdy! I'm going to have to pick up the first book for some back story.

How I got this book: NetGalley

When I first read the short novella from Davis in her A-Tac series, I knew this would become another suspense author to watch out for. I went out and bought the first two books in the series, and although I haven’t been able to read them yet, I immediately jumped on the chance to read Deep Disclosure.

Tucker is trying to adjust to a normal life, but when he is witness to a bombing, he quickly gets sucked back into the A-Tac world. Tucker puts himself in the position to earn the trust of the beautiful Alexis, the woman who seems to be at the center of everything. But Alexis has problems trusting people, and when she finds out that Tucker has been lying the whole time, will she still want him around?
Alexis has been running her whole life, and now her past has finally caught up with her. When everyone around her starts dying and her family’s ugly past rears it’s head, she knows that her father’s previous works has something to do with it. But when the killer’s identity comes to light, will Alexis and Tucker be able to walk away with their lives, and their love?

I’ll admit that while I love the whole “covert black-ops, hiding in plain sight” is a favorite of mine. However, the thought of special black-ops agents acting as University professors is just out of my range of believable. I don’t know why… I can buy a lot of stuff, but for some reason the professor thing just doesn’t work for me. But thankfully, we didn’t focus much on that aspect of the job in this book.
That being said, I really enjoyed this book. I loved Alexis’ character, and as each page turned, I wanted to wrap her up and give her a huge hug. This poor women was beaten down emotionally, chased and almost killed, then found out the family she had put on a pedestal was far from perfect. The character growth from page one to the end was brilliant and great to follow along with.

Tucker had to go through his own growth, but I didn’t find myself connecting with him character as much as I did with Alexis. I enjoy Tucker’s extreme Alpha ways, but on an emotional level, I felt like he had a little bit more to grow before he could fully commit to Alexis. It was obvious that he wasn’t over his fiance at the beginning of the book, and I didn’t get a good sense that he was totally over her even at the end. It was never really worked out enough for me to believe that he was suddenly deeply in love with Alexis.

The suspense part of the plot was fantastic. I love the whole overall series arc with the Consortium and can’t wait to see how that all works out. I loved the mystery of who the “other” villain was, and was completely taken by surprise when all was revealed. I was not expecting that, and it blew me away, I loved it!

All in all I really enjoyed Davis’ 4th A-Tac book. While I had some problems with Tucker’s lack of page time in dealing with new love and loosing his old, I also felt like he and Alexis fit so well together. The suspense was done well and the mystery kept throughout the book. This is a series I will definitely be sticking with!
I give Deep Disclosure a B-

My opinion:
WONDERFUL! As soon as I had my hands on this book I was drawn to it so much that it didn’t even last in the TBR pile. I had to discover this author… I can sound strange because I’m usually not listening to my instinct that much especially since this title is in fact the fourth in the series and I ‘m more the reading in order kind of reader.

Really, yes having read precedent books could have been great as this one kind of give spoilers but in no way it’s a necessity. It was my first try at this series and even at this author and I completely fell in the story without any trouble. I could understand the story perfectly and even the general background, it’s very well done

The action is immediate in the first few pages and there is not a moment when the tension drop, I couldn’t stop turning the page even if I had some strong suspicions (and I was right!!!) about the culprit. I was completely hooked and caught in the never ending action. The romance is there as well and well done, the characters are attracted to each others but take the time to build some kind of trust before acting on their feeling which make the relationship even more believable after what they both lived in the past.

Alexis is a strong Heroine and she has difficulty to trust since she nearly had no one to rely on while living off the radar since a teenager. She is loyal and is ready to fight for what she believes; I really liked that about her. Yes I did want to shake her as well when she didn’t trust Tucker after everything but I really appreciate her.
Tucker had to stay years in a Columbian prison for nothing and no one could live that without being affected for a long time. As soon as he sees Alexis his interest is there, he doesn’t understand why or how but his instincts are telling him something which saves his life. No matter what the rumour is he can’t accept that Alexis could be a terrorist and thus protect her fiercely. He is so courageous despite years of suffering. Really I would love to see what happened exactly in Columbia, we have glimpse of it we learn the results but this book just made me want more.

The investigation is not 100% original but is written in such a way that you can’t put the book down. I liked that we had some closure even in the background there is a bigger investigation, a red line which seems to be developed along the series. The big, really big villains are not caught yet but the team learn slowly more about them (they crossed way with them in precedents books as we are told but they are still a mystery) and it’s good. It’s not really a cliffhanger, I’m not on edge for the next tome. However I really enjoyed the story and writing style so I can’t wait to get the precedents books to catch up on what I missed even if it’s perhaps darker than this story.

If you want a good romance suspense to enjoy this summer (but not only) this could be the book for you. You can start this one if you just want one or start from the beginning if you prefer.

Score: 5/5

Tucker Flynn is taking a much needed break from the CIA, living a peaceful if dull life in small town California, when one morning his favorite coffee spot is literally blown up right under him. Alexis Markham has been on the run all her life, her Uncle George, fresh from prison asks to meet her, they argue and she leaves in a snit. Just after she leaves, the coffee spot they were meeting in blows up, killing Uncle George. Tucker noticed the meeting between Alexis and George, was intrigued by Alexis and after the explosion decides he needs to find out more about her. With the help of family and friends in the A-Tac team Tucker tracks Alexis down and goes undercover as a friend of her Uncle George. Now someone is after Alexis and Tucker and friends must do everything they can to not only keep her safe, but find who is after her and discover what they want.

Ms. Davis manages to grab your attention from page one and continues to hold it all throughout the book. Packed full of action, intrigue and the hot attraction between Tucker and Alexis, Deep Disclosure is a page turner. Tucker is a damaged soul, not bad on the eyes but not classically handsome, he can handle a gun and woman with equal skill. I liked him from page one and as the story progressed, I fell madly in love with him. Alexis also has her share of problems, she is unable to trust anyone and has a special dislike of the government. She is strong, tough, and vulnerable all at the same time and poor Tucker just doesn’t know what hit him. She is my hero and I want to be just like her when I grow up. Members of the A-Tac team are scattered throughout the book and work well into the story.

I enjoyed the heck out of this book, I didn’t want to put it down once I picked it up and resented every minute that my job and life insisted I do so. The action is smooth flowing, there are explosions, gun fights, fist fights, car chases and more sexy CIA men than one can shake a stick at. The heat that builds between Tucker and Alexis is slow burning and once ignited, is steamy as can be. There are a number of bad guys, I didn’t figure out who was after Alexis until the end, and was surprised by the ending. This is the fourth book in the series and can be read as a standalone. I have not read the first three but rest assured they are on my to be read list now. Keep them coming Ms. Davis; you’ve got a fan in me.

Overall thought: While I found my thoughts wandering from time-to-time, I still found Deep Disclosure to be a very satisfying read and a true reminder of why I find romantic suspense to be one of my favorite genres.

My thoughts: From page one Ms. Davis draws the reader in with action and just when things begin to lull there is a well placed action-scene. She is a master at this. I enjoyed Deep Disclosure and getting to know Alexis and Tucker and seeing members of the A-TAC team. You don't need to read the earlier books in this series to understand this book (I haven't) but I am sure you will find enjoyment if you have read the books as the previous couples are in this book from time-to-time.

Alexis and her backstory were the most interesting to me. The fact that she has been off the grid her entire life was fascinating. Her instant attraction to Tucker was great also. I love those kind of attractions and I really felt the attraction and heat between these two. It didn't feel off, it really felt believable. I also liked Tucker, who hasn't had an easy life either, and he's trying to decide what to do when the situation with Alexis falls into his lap. He's pretty much decided he's going to be alone for life as well so I liked that he found his soul mate in Alexis.

Of course the relationship has it's bumps, it wouldn't be a romance book without them, but I won't tell what happens, I also won't give up what happens with the suspense plot. It's interesting and while a little out there at times, ultimately it does seem believable, scary yet believable. My interest level did wane at times, but honestly I think that was me more than the book, because truly there was enough action, romance and suspense to keep any reader interested. I definitely want to go back and read the earlier books and look forward to Harrison's story in the next book. He played a definite role in this book and I'm interest to learn more about him in the next book.

Ms. Davis has a way with characters and action and her books are definitely worth reading. I look forward to reading more in the future.

Alexis Markham knows life in the shadows but now those shadows are getting deeper. With the death of the only person who knows the real her she needs to dig herself deeper into her life of deception. When Tucker Flynn shows up out of nowhere and offers help it’s hard to trust, but she has no one left to turn to, so on a leap of faith she turns to him. Tucker Flynn has lived his life in the shadows of black ops and covert operations so when he’s assigned by A-Tac, a CIA covert organization, to get close to Alexis and discover the truth about her, he’s all for it. But things change when the feelings they have for each other go into dangerous territory. Can they depend on each other for security and can they keep this attraction they have for each other at arms length while they try to solve this mystery.

Dee Davis takes us into her world of unbelievable crimes, criminals and the ghost operative good guys who make the world safer right under our noses, these aren’t the tales you’d read in the paper unless of course the CIA has it’s own version of the New York Times. She does this with her spook-speak of the agents and bad guys and with her descriptive dialogue that make it easy for us mere humans to follow along, yes sometimes the plot gets thick with suppositions and twists but if you read carefully you will be able to follow the convoluted story line. Her characters are made up of not everyday people but folks pretending to be everyday people while living double lives and keeping us safe from the baddest of bad guys, and remarkably she does this by making them believable in their un-believability. Her hero and heroine of this escapade are likeable and inspiring. The romance is doomed from the beginning, so to find out if that all elusive HEA is possible for them you’ll have to read for yourself. The love scenes are descriptive but not overly explicit.
If you need something to remind you of the heat of August in September, you’ll find it here in your must read category of Autumn.
This reads well as a stand a lone, but for the back stories of all the other characters you’ll meet in here read the others in the series too.

My review is cross-posted courtesy of Wit and Sin: http://witandsin.blogspot.com/2011/10...

After his release from a Columbian prison, black ops agent Tucker Flynn took to the quiet life. Just when things are about to get boring, an explosion in a local coffee shop leads him to cross paths with Alexis Markham. Years ago, Alexis’s father developed a biochemical weapon and Alexis’s entire family was murdered to keep that formula a secret. Now Tucker must protect her, without disclosing his true identity.

Alexis has been on the run for thirteen years, trying to escape those that want her father’s formula. She’s been taught to trust no one, especially the government. So when Tucker appears and appoints himself her bodyguard, she’s understandably suspicious. Even so, Tucker manages to work his way past her defenses and soon she’s falling for her sexy bodyguard and the safety he promises. But if a killer has his way, Alexis and Tucker’s burgeoning relationship may end before it can truly begin.

I’m a hard sell when it comes to romantic suspense, but I was taken with Deep Disclosure . Dee Davis keeps the action going almost nonstop and adds a few twists for good measure. I enjoyed the suspense part of the book even more than the romance, which is a rarity for me. That’s not to say that Alexis and Tucker are boring; they aren’t in the least. Both of them are survivors, and I respected that. Their relationship was the weaker of the two storylines, but I liked watching them fall for each other nonetheless.

Deep Disclosure is the fourth book in Ms. Davis’s A-Tac series. Having not read, Dark Deceptions, Dangerous Desires, and Desperate Deeds, I can safely say that Deep Disclosure can be read out of order in the series. Still, Ms. Davis definitely made me want to go back and read the first three A-Tac books. In fact, I’ve bought them already. I can’t wait to read more A-Tac books and I am already dying for the sexy A-Tac commander, Avery, to get a story of his own.

Davis's Deep Disclosure was an exciting read that I was lucky enough to win through Goodreads. It was the first book that I read by Davis, and I really enjoyed it. Deep Disclosure is part of Davis's A-Tac series and while it would have been nice to have read the other books in the series first I was able to follow what was going on just by reading this book. Alexis Markam, the female lead, is unfamiliar with the A-Tac team as well so the reader is able to get an introduction to this convert group as she gets hers. Tucker Flynn, the male lead, is the character involved with A-Tac and we get to learn more about his team through his interactions with his team members. Alexis and Tucker have both been living secret lives unable to really let anyone in since they are both haunted by their pasts making them a perfect pair. Davis does a great job at making you care not just about the two main characters but the secondary characters of the A-Tac team as well. I liked the pacing of discovering the truth of Alexis's past and the buildup of her romance with Tucker. I definitely plan on checking out the other books in the series. Overall this was a great read, and I would recommend it if you enjoy action, adventure, and intrigue with your romance.

I'm always a fan of the male lead being in an agent or in an ops department related which definitely swoon one over with their calmness in stressful situations and being protective over the female lead. I think the attraction between Tucker Flynn and Alexis is seemingly acceptable in the settings of protecting the female lead from possible threats.

Tucker Flynn, a former black ops agent whom experienced a betrayal which led to his Fiancee's death. Though not much development on his past, but I think his past background was sufficient to learn of his issues in the trust department. Going on to Alexis Markham, who is forced to survive and live under radar at a young age seems painful. I admire Alexis character, though she may be shocked at whatever threats she’s encountering but she don’t cower but faced it head on; a very nice character development by the author.

Overall, the story line was superbly planned though I felt that the numeral antagonist was a little confusing as the story proceeded but there weren’t any moments which deterred me from not wanting to continue finding how the story develops. I would definitely give this book a 5-stars and to read the rest of A-Tac series.

Alexis Markham has spent the last decade running from her father's secret. Once a scientist for the government, her father developed a biological weapon. Then his team was killed, and he took his family into hiding. Alexis was the only one who survived when the government found them. And now, it seems they've found her again. Tucker Flynn is in charge of protecting and secretly investigating her as a member of A-Tac (an elite CIA unit masquerading as Ivy league college faculty). He has his own past he's trying to overcome. But they quickly ascertain that nothing is as it seems. Can Alexis let down her guard to finally let someone help her?

I've read all the books in this series, and loved them. Davis' fast-pace and emotional conflict make for an enjoyable read. Just when you think you've got this figured out, she throws you another curve. Though I liked the previous books, Tucker has got to be my favorite hero of them all. Set mostly in New Orleans, Davis sets the scene like a pro, drawing you into the Cajun south with a flourish. The array of secondary characters adds to the story nicely. If you've followed the books, this won't disappoint.

Deep Disclosure is by far the best book in this series. It even surpasses Annie and Nash's story and I didn't think that was possible.

I've always admired the author's amazing attention to detail and I think she's truly outdone herself in this book. The plot is thought out in detail and amazingly well written. It's fast paced and there's not a dull moment anywhere in this book. The book is action packed to the maximum and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

The romance between Tucker and Alexis is beautifully written and their love story is my favorite one of the series. They’re both very strong characters, Alexis’s courage and strength is especially admirable. She held it together even in the most dire situation. Even though she was never completely helpless and was able to manage a difficult situation, she was still able to accept help when it was offered.

Deep disclosure is a thrilling addition to the series and I’m looking forward to reading Harrison’s story (and apparently Hannah’s too) in the next installment.

Ahh the long awaited book of Tucker's story... And this book not only starts out with one bang but two.. Our heroine Alexis as a teenager witnessed her home with her family in it being blown up. She goes off the grid for 13 years with the help of a family friend. Tucker is now living in the town he and Drake grew up in basically bored out of his mind but at loose ends with his life since his rescue. He is sitting in a coffee shop when Alexis comes in to meet with the man that helped her as a child. After she leaves - the diner blows up killing her friend.

There are many more explosions through out the book and tons of suspense as there were three different groups of people trying to kill Alexis.

One on the reason I like this series is the author always has all of the characters from the previous books back in each book like a tight knit family. As always I enjoyed the book from beginning to end and look forward to the next one as there were still things left unresolved.

Deep Disclosure - A-Tac #4 - (Tucker and Alexis)

After spending years in prison under deep cover, black ops agent Tucker Flynn joins A-Tac, an elite CIA unit masquerading as faculty at an Ivy League college. Nothing can shake him-except a vulnerable young woman marked for death.

DUAL DECEPTION

When Tucker is assigned to protect-and secretly investigate-Alexis Markham, he expects a routine mission. But this mysterious beauty has a past even darker than his: her father created a horrifying new biochemical weapon-and was murdered to keep it secret.

Alexis has spent the last decade racing to stay one step ahead of the shadowy operatives who will stop at nothing to possess her father's formula. She can trust no one, not even her handsome new bodyguard. But the heat that flares between them is impossible to resist. Will giving in to passion bring her the safety she's always craved, or will her love for Tucker draw him into a killer's sights?

The usual action book with a bit of romance. Honestly, the idea itself isn't original, I didn't like the writing and it seemed too long or maybe too slow.
I don't know why I picked up this book. I'd read it on my phone in epub format, I didn't check out about what it is or even if it's first in series. Guess I shouldn't have done that, because actually this book is very predictable, with a "meh" plot, but I think with a strong female character (at least she isn't a fucking coward, saved her bf, lived quite awhile alone off the grid, and didn't really freak out about all that shit that happened when bunch of idiots tried to kill her)
I don't think that I would recommend it to my friends or other people, but maybe some like to read predictable and slow paced books, so this one is just for them.

This is the 5th book in the A-Tac series. I am not sure how Ms. Davis can top this one. The book has it all. Bad guys coming from each direction, even so far as to kill each other, you have a formula that everyone wants, but no one knows where it is. There is an amazing love story that seems so fragile yet so meant to be. Then you have all of the A-Tac players back and helping keep justice, still reeling from their own betrayal. When I first started reading, I was SURE I knew who done it, but I was completely wrong. I was also SURE I knew what the key was to the formula, and again....wrong. I love when I find out along with the team, makes the book more enjoyable to me. I really can't wait for Hannah and Harrison's book, coming April 2012.

3.5/5 - Enjoyable, nice relationship between Tucker and Alexis. It's been so long between books, I had a hard time remember who was who, and what their stories were. (bad memory and too many other rom/sus stories in between!)

But overall I liked their story and I'm really drawn to Harrison...good thing because he's up next!

I really enjoyed this book! If you enjoy suspenseful, government cover-up type books with a little romance thrown in, then this is the book for you! It was a page turner! I would read it before bed each night, and every morning, I couldn't wait to get up and ready for my day so I could read some more! I highly recommend it!

I won a copy of this book through Goodreads.

I like adventure tales, but the combined romance/suspense doesn't really interest me. That being said, if I skimmed past the steamy bits, I enjoyed the non-bedroom action quite a bit. This wasn't a bad read, but I probably won't seek out more in this genre or in this series. I think this will appeal to my wife more than it did to me.

The latest A-Tac romantic suspense (see Desperate Deeds, Dangerous Desires and Dark Deceptions) is a deadly delightful CIA thriller in which the heroine's secret as well as who wants her dead make for a compelling tale. The story line is action-packed from the first fire until the fiery finish as the engaging romance supports the intrigue

Yeah for Harrison getting out into the field. I know this was supposed to be Tucker's book and it was but I loved Harrison.
This series is definitely getting better and for the first time I didn't feel the need to smack some sense into the heroine! Alexis seemed just as annoyed by people too stupid to live as I am and had honest to God common sense.

Another good read in the A-Tac series. The only complaint I have is that this series seems to follow a formula. Good guy with baggage works for A-Tac. Girl with questionable motives is in trouble. Guy falls for girl and saves her from trouble. It's not a bad formula and works in the novels in this series, but sometimes it becomes tedious when reading the entire series all in a row.

This was an ok read for me. I enjoyed the romantic aspects of the story but found my mind wandering at times throughout the rest. I maybe would have enjoyed it more if I had read the rest of the series, but this was the first I had read.
