Cedric Reeves has just been sidelined, and the bad-boy pro footballer suddenly finds himself without an agent or a prayer of getting back in the game. What he needs is someone pulling for him…someone like gorgeous go-getter Payton Mosely.
A media-hounded celebrity like Cedric is just what the ambitious up-and-comer Payton needs to jump-start her career. That's why she's waging a no-holds-barred campaign to land the Saber running back as her first client. But how's the NFL sports agent supposed to keep things strictly professional when Cedric pursues her with a passion no sane woman can resist? Could this sexy bad boy be good for her after all?

I *really* enjoyed this. I would happily have spent another 100 pages with Payton and Cedric. I have my issues with American football (concussions! exploitation! double standards for players vs cheerleaders!) but this is a lot of fun and does at least touch on some of the problems of the sport. I was worried about the idea of a relationship that was breaking work boundaries - which would reflect worse on Payton than Ced, but it actually all worked out nicely in the end. Really good.
Another winner in the New York Sabers Football series! I loved this, partly because Payton thought the attraction between her and Cedric was 'forbidden' due to their professional relationship. The chemistry between the two was off the charts, though, and I loved how they really did try to keep things professional only...
Payton and Cedric’s book is so awesome! I love her and how strong yet vulnerable she is with her career and her heart. And he’s just perfection. This romance is just really good, and I can’t recommend this series and author enough!
Sport themed romance with a cocky jock-y football player with an ambitious woman who was a lawyer but now wants to be a sports agent to Pro Football players. Cedric Reeves is in trouble his bad boy player rep that was so cool in college is no longer anything but a black stain on his crumbling career. He needs help, he needs a good agent but his big named agent just dumped him. So when the sexy and stubborn Payton Mosely shows up, he doesn't take her seriously until she shows him that she really knows the game and the players. I really like Payton, she was a heroine that I could back although I'm not sure that I would have forgiven her when she jumps to the wrong conclusions with Cedric where he is found in a 'fight' again. That was really a huge lack of loyalty and I would have to serious reconsider my friendship with some one that doesn't have my back (even when I'm wrong, although in private I would hope that my friend would tell me that I was wrong, but not in public!) Fun American football themed romance which was really more about the politics and background sponsorships then about touch downs or anything too boring which would have lost me right away because I just don't get Pro sports in general. The Olympics are the best so I'm not totally sport-phobic... 224 pages and kindle freebie 2 and half stars
As I've stated in several reviews, I truly appreciate books that are grammatically well written. I'll Catch You was definitely that and made for an easy read. I enjoyed getting to know Payton and Cedric and understanding what made them tick. There was a slow build up to their relationship which worked for this particular storyline. However, Payton's hot and cold attitude, especially after they'd already crossed the professional line with each other, grew tiresome. Also, there wasn't a lot of dramatic elements to make me feel as if I HAD to keep reading the book. I wouldn't say it was boring but it wasn't always exciting either. The first real bit of drama occurred more towards the end and was resolved quickly and too easily, in my opinion. Cedric was devastated enough to halt their relationship for weeks with no communication or any indication that he planned to even see her again and all it took was him calling to say he loved her and all was fixed.
There was a lot of repeating of information that made certain parts drag a bit. Overall I did enjoy it . . . enough to read another book from the series. I'd rate I'll Catch You 3.5 because I did like the characters and found the NFL angle interesting.

Farrah Rochon has become one of my favorites. I can depend on her stories to be sexy and interesting, even with a little bit of funny. This particular story is about Payton Mosely, a wanna-be agent who's been "stalking" pro football player Cedric Reeves. Reeves has a bad rep in the league, and Payton feels if she can change the way he's viewed by the media and get him endorsements, he'll help her launch her business as an agent. The only problem is, there's a strong attraction between them, and Payton doesn't want to get involved with a client because it would threaten her credibility. Needless to say, they hook up (this is a romance, after all), and it's hot and heavy.
They both had sweet back stories - Cedric's about his twin brother and Payton's relationship with her deceased father. And the details about football add another dimension to the story. It was kinda cool to see a female lead who knew the game so well. This was definitely another winner from Ms. Rochon.
I love a strong woman lead such as Payton. Fun tug-of-war romance. An honest love story and realistic. Can't stand that bed jumping megalomaniac books with self destructive, bad language and far fetched unrealistic gang bangers.
Cedric and Payton with the vibes from the start! Payton was adamant about starting her career as a sports agent, but she needed to get her feet wet to show she had what it takes. So she basically stalks the one person she knows needs someone in his corner because things aren't looking too good for Ced. His reputation has lost him endorsements and an agent, plus he has a contract coming up and literally NO ONE wants to get into business with him. He is resigned to take Payton on, but she has him smitten. Then she starts to turn things over in his favor so he sees the plus in his decision. Not trying to mix business and pleasure, Payton fights with her feelings for Cedric constantly. When she finally realizes that you can't always fight the feeling, her assumption of a situation involving Cedric puts them at odds...for a minute or two, but not all is loss. I enjoyed this book. I want to say he falls first, but it was a fight on both parts from the jump.Cedric was definitely entranced by Payton because she stimulated his mind, body, and soul. Give this one a spin, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Happy Reading Y'all!💋
What a relief to read a wonderful sports romance! Not only is the football right—and I really care about the accuracy with this sport more than others because I know more about it—but the characters are engaging, relatable, and layered. The writing is simply outstanding, and the pacing moves along perfectly—until the very end, in which everything is wrapped up a little quickly and a few lingering questions left unanswered. However, this may be a legacy of the Harlequin word limits, and I would only say I'd love to see an expanded version of this story put out by the author someday. I would definitely read it again!
To make it to the NFL one needs to possess grit, determination, tenacity, and skill. To stay there one needs discipline and a helluva an agent! Payton is determined to break into sports management as new career field because more than some of the guys on the field, she lives for the game of football. Once she signs him as her first official client, the question becomes will she risk everything to mix business and pleasure? Excellent novel, highly recommended. Fast paced, engaging and very believable. When the character happy you share in their joy but you also shoulder their hurt as well. Great job!
I'm a sucker for a sports romance and this story did not disappoint.
Payton was true lover of football. She spent many days and nights by her father's side as he coached, teaching her the ins and outs of the sport. There is no doubt if she was born a man she would've played football. When her father died she had to find a way to get close to the sport, because she thought it would bring her closer to him since he loved football so much. She decided to take her skills as a lawyer and become a Sports agent. She bet on herself and started her own agency. She set out to find a client, that would jump start her agency.
Cedric was a great running back. He had a gift, but his off the field antics were jeopardizing his future. Truth was he was tired and he realized that more than anything he needed football. After his agent dropped him, he thought he would easily replace him. However, his reputation was off putting. He found himself with very little options and one willing agent that happened to be extremely beautiful offering to take his career to a new level.
Together they are able to take his career to the next level. Cedric takes her advice and gets rid of fake friends. He focuses on the sport he loves. She creates opportunities that put him in a positive light and help his brand. The connection they have though is problematic. Literally on fire. They do everything they can, but it's inevitable. Payton has found a client that not only jump started her agency, but her heart as well.
This is my second time reading this book. And I still loved it. Book no. 2 in The New York Sabers' series introduces us to sports agent Payton Mosley and running back Cedric Reeves. Peyton needs to be taken serious as an agent and Cedric who is up for contract negotiations needs to leave his wild reputation the past. Both are attracted to one another but a relationship with the star player would have a more detrimental effect on Payton and her career. But the two are unable to ignore their chemistry. Rochon's background knowledge of football definitely is a plus in this book.
Love this book in the series. Payton and Cedric's story is wonderful. I love sports and Payton is elbowing her way into the male dominated world of Sports Agency and she holds her own all the while falling for her client but not letting it interfere with the job. The story is very well written and flows beautifully and there are some heart-wrenching moments that'll make you wanna give Peyton a big ole hug.
I like this story of Cedric and Peyton. Cedric gets the reputation as a bad boy in the NFL his agent dropped him. Peyton approaches Cedric and ask him to let her be his agent. This is the beginning of many first for the two of them and it's nice to be along for the ride.
I like that Payton was so persistent with signing Cedric as a client and she went hard for him from the beginning. She hit the ground running to rebrand his image and succeeded with him doing his part. They flowed so good together in business and pleasure. I can't wait to read the next book.
Cedric and Payton make a great power couple, even though she never wanted to go there with him. No mixing business with pleasure for her. But Cedric ran away with her heart as easily as he ran a football. The author also did a great job incorporating the actual game into the story and even weaved in a chronic health condition. Learned a little something.
The third book in the New York Sabers Football series is nothing short of delightful. Illustrating perfectly the Shakespearean quote that "the course of true love ne'er did run smooth," the story of Payton and Cedric leaves you cheering one moment, and groaning the next? Do they get their happily ever after? Read the book to find out!
I loved this book. Read it in one sitting it was a fun read and the characters are amazing. This is my first by Farah Rochan and Harlequin and i must admit it wowed me, Can't wait to read more in their Kimani series/category.
I read this story years ago and never reviewed it. Now that it has been rereleased I decided to reread it. Cedric was a typical bad boy, sexist athlete that needed to be put in his place and Payton was the perfect person to do it.
This is a great book for someone who needs to know that you stop at nothing until you reach your goals. If love happens along the way don't fight it, embrace it. Payton and Cedric are a perfect match.
I enjoyed Cedric and Payton's story. They shared a love for football and found love with each other. Assumptions almost took them out but love won out. Payton's negotiating skills were fierce.
This story was about more than football and romance. It had a lot of different situations. Familia, love, sexist, helping the community and most of all love! Gotta red the next book!
Though Payton had me yelling at her in aggravation a couple of times, this was a very well-written romance between two unlikely people. I loved her no-nonsense attitude and Cedric was a charmer throughout. Great, HOT romance!
It's been a while since I read the 1st book in this series so I had to skim through it before jumping into this one. And it didn't disappoint. It can be a stand alone but for someone like me it's good to take a peek at the past characters.
"I'll Catch You" is the second book in the New York Sabers series and is even better than the 1st one. The chemistry between Payton and Cedric is incredible! I found myself rooting for them both as individuals and as a couple.
The pacing was incredible and this was an overall great story to read.
I enjoyed this book more than the first one. I thought Paige and Torrian's relationship would be hard to top. But Payton and Cedric did exactly that. Im happy Farrah added the epilogue in this book because it allowed the book to end properly. 10 of 10 recommend.
What I love most about this series so far is these men know what they want and they are going after it! I was about to be mad at Cedric for leaving when it all was well, but he held it down, loyally. Cute series, my faves, football and romance!
