National Best-selling author Adrianne Byrd has always preferred to live within the realms of her imagination where all the men are gorgeous and the women are worth whatever trouble they manage to get into. As an army brat, she traveled throughout Europe and learned to appreciate and value different cultures. Now she calls Georgia home.

Looking back, Adrianne believes her passion for writing began at the ripe old age of thirteen. It was also the age when she was introduced to romance novels by a most unlikely source: her fifteen-year old brother. The book was probably given to keep her out her brother’s hair, but it was a gift that changed her life.

In books, Adrianne found a way out of her awkward teenage years and into a world of fictional friends that would stay with her for a lifetime. It wasn’t long before her imagination took flight and she was writing her own love stories. Within a year, she completed her first book, which she vowed would never see the light of day.

Writing remained a hobby until 1994 when a co-worker approached her with an article on Romance Writers of America. Who knew there was an organization of women just like her? By 1996 she sold her first novel, Defenseless, to Kensington Publishing.

Her first release received rave reviews by Romantic Times and fans. Her other novels were consistently selected as the Magazine’s Top Pick. In 2001 Slam Jam nominated, Say You Love Me, for best romance. Her 2003 release Comfort of a Man won Romantic Times Best Multicultural Romance, Romance in Color’s Readers Choice Awards for Favorite Book, Favorite Hero, and Favorite Heroine; Shades of Romance’s Best/Arabesque Romance Book; Slam Jams Emma Award for Favorite Traditional Romance; Romance in Color’s Reviewer’s Choice Award for Author of the Year, Book of the Year and Best BET/Arabesque Book. And lastly Comfort of a Man was a 2003 Georgia Romance Writers Maggie finalist for best Contemporary. In 2004 she released her first romantic suspense novel, If You Dare, with HarperCollins. In 2006 her novel Measure of a Man was nominated for Best Multicultural Romance while her Harper Torch novel Deadly Double was nominated for an Emma. In 2007 she won an eharlequin.com Joey Award.

In 2006 Adrianne along with fellow writer Niobia Bryant penned her first Urban Novel, DESPERATE HOODWIVES, writing as De'nesha Diamond. The book is set for release February 2008 from Simon and Schuster. For more information, visit http://www.deneshadiamond.com.

Ms. Byrd has been featured in many national publications, including Today’s Black Woman, Upscale, and Heart and Soul. She has also won local awards for screenwriting. For the future, she looks forward to continue creating characters that make people smile, laugh, and fall in love.

Adrianne Byrd is 3 for 3 with the King brothers' books! At first I didn't like this one as much as the others. From the night they met, they had sex a lot. There were chapters of it. I was actually tired of it. But I'm glad I didn't quit because I'd have missed out on a really good, surprisingly sweet romantic story.

L.A. screenwriter Leigh Matthews has had her heart broken one too many times by her cheating NBA player boyfriend. During one of their breakups, she crashes a bachelor party put on by Jeremy King's company at a house in Malibu. It was her night to be free and be bad.

After a hot and heavy one-night stand with Jeremy, Leigh leaves him, and they don't see each other again until she shows up at his company to have him organize her bachelorette party (because she and her ex are back together again). Here is where the story really picks up and things start careening out of control. Can you say drama?! I couldn't stop reading.

I can't say too much without revealing spoilers, but I really loved how bit by bit the story unraveled. There were a lot of issues touched on here, including loyalty and friendship. It was also interesting to see how smitten the hero and heroine were with each other even though they'd only known each other for one night. It was a true love-at-first-sight kind of love, because neither of them could forget the other.

The other cast of characters were great: I adored Leigh's mother. She was a hoot. Quentin was his usual hilarious self, and he finally had a break through. I feel really bad for him and hope he can reconcile with his family.

At first I thought he and Dr. Turner would end up together, but the teaser at the end of the book indicates that there is a woman with whom he'll have his HEA. I can't wait to see who the mystery woman is. I hope his book comes out soon.

Another excellent read!

This type of book is a nice little escape when you’ve been reading too many “deep” books or even if you just want a little smut in your life. This was a traditional story of a sexy, handsome bad boy meets mysterious gorgeous woman…falls for her after one night of extremely good sex…and basically, if you’ve read one, you’ve read them all. We all know the formula. We know what happens. There are misunderstandings and truths discovered, and of course they end up together. That is the story of Jeremy and Leigh. They meet at bachelor party, have a great night (no names exchanged), then she takes off. Later he finds that the woman he can’t forget about is his best friends fiancé.

It’s a fun and light read, I read it in 2 sittings. The characters are predictable and likeable at the same time. I did enjoy Ms.Byrd’s writing style. I liked how we got to see the goings on from 3 perspectives. Jeremy’s, Leigh’s and Quentin (Jeremy’s cousin). Let me tell you poor Quentin has some monkeys on his back that he is having a tough time shaking. King’s Pleasure is the 3rd book in the House of Kings series. I was able to read this and get a good idea what happened in the previous 2 books with the other two brothers without having to read them. I’ll probably eventually read the other two books when I want to break things up a bit and read some fun romance. I may save it for my summer reading!

If you take this book for what it is, you’ll enjoy it!

I had gotten this book awhile back. Just had a chance to finally read it and enjoy it.
In the game of love, there is nothing that trumps a House Of Kings. This book is the story of Jeremy, a player who usually holds all the cards in his love life. One night he sees this beauty who grabs his attention. He is fascinated by her. While he watches the other men get turned down & rejected, he decides he wants nothing more than to get with her on the dance floor. He pulls out all his moves and he goes after her.
Leigh is out for a good time. She is "taking a break" from life and has broken up yet again with her on and off again boyfriend. She thinks a good time is what is in order. She crashes a party in the big Malibu house next door to the one she is staying at that belongs to her best friend. She is instantly attracted to Jeremy. One thing leads to another and she ends up having a one night stand.
Leigh goes back to her boyfriend who proposes. She can't shake what happened on their break, but after some convincing from her family and friends, she gets engaged to DeShawn. Neither Leigh or Jeremy know the other one's name, or that DeShawn will be the common factor in this whole mess. When they are introduced at Leigh's engagement party weeks later, stuff starts to hit the fan.
Will Jeremy be with Leigh? Will Leigh be with DeShawn? Will Jeremy and DeShawn's longtime friendship stand up to what will be revealed?

I really enjoyed the story, but can see why others were a bit disappointed in it. Yes I agree Jeremy and Leigh spent way too much time apart, but I do not think it took away from the story, and my over all enjoyment of the book. They were apart for a very good reason. They chemistry was off the hook, and the extremely long, thoroughly enjoyable sex scene that they had really makes up for it all. I did think that there should have been more of a courtship between them, and the ending was a bit rushed, so I hope we get to read more about them in Quentin's story which I am eagerly awaiting. I don't think this is the worse of the King books, I just think it was different.

People often complain about getting the same thing over and over again, but it was nice to see Adrianne switch it up with this book. It wasn't the usually meet and fall in love, it was definitely something different.

The three King brothers have always held fast to their player cards. Easy to do since they own a series of clubs around the country specializing in bachelor parties. But, with his brothers Eamon (King's Passion) and Xavier (King's Promise) setting fire to their cards and settling down, Jeremy gladly accepts that there are now just more women for him. He can't believe his luck when he encounters a woman at one of his parties and the incredible, unforgettable night they share. In fact she's still on his mind when she shows up a few weeks later to plan her bachelorette party.

This is the last in the House of Kings series and I'm going to miss these guys and their paranoid cousin, Quentin Hinton, who takes it especially hard when each one succumbs to their fate. I know his story is coming in the future and I can't wait.

I picked this book up because I enjoy reading about different cultures. In this case, the book features a hero who is African American as is the heroine. I enjoyed this book mostly because it was like learning a whole new language. The slang and actions of the characters was so different from anything else I've experienced. I found myself starting to judge some of the characters behaviour (the way the hero and his cousin talk to female characters), and made myself suspend judgement, since the language seemed acceptable within the culture.

The story has a traditional HEA. The lose ends are tied up and we are left with a good teaser for the next book which features Quentin.

Quibble: although we're told the heroine has a career and is succeful in her own right, we don't ever hear what her job is, how she affords here LA lifestyle. Nowhere in the story does she ever have to work.

To say I was disappointed with this story is an understatement, the series started so well with the first two books but this one did not hold up to my par.  This couple was not to my liking at all and I thought it would be impossible for me to dislike any couple more than Sterling and Alyssa.  I don't think I would call this story a romance, since there seemed to be no romance between teh two at all.  Lust yes, love I don't think so.  I am sure there are many who have enjoyed this story and please do not let my opinion influence you but I do not care for the cheating scenario no matter what pretty words you coat it in.  If not for the last chapter with Quentin which gives me a little hope that his bride has surfaced I would not have found this enjoyable.

Oh my damn. Jeremy King is the best of the series. Jeremy, the ultimate player, is blindsided by the sexiest woman he has ever met and as the owner of a gentleman's club, he has met plenty of beautiful women. Leigh, is not one of the crashers at a bachelor party thrown by Jeremy's company, but she's more impressive than the paid dancers. After one amazing night for the both of them, they part ways thinking to never see each other again. Not so, Leigh's philndeering fiance is Jeremy's best friend but Jeremy still isn't ready to admit defeat. Since this is a romance, you know that there is an HEA, however, the journey to the HEA is the intereting part.

One sexual experience that would leave an impression on your senses for a lifetime. Who would have thought that looking to put your life into prospective would lead to the best sexual adventure of you life in one experience. Well, let me tell you this Leigh got much more than she bargained for in her time to explore her life this one night. Jeremy, like most men, thought he was just going to hit it and quit it, but he got a little more than he bargained for himself. He got an experience of a lifetime and a women he could not forget. Not exchanging names may have been the one mistake that will drive him crazy. This third installment in the Kings was most definitely worth the wait.

This is my first time reading an Andrianne Byrd novel and I was not disappointed. I finished this novel in a day because her writing was fluent and light but suspenseful.

The story gives Leigh Matthews and Jeremy King a strong passionate one night stand that leaves them wanting more. But the drama begins....I couldn't put it down because it was easy to read and follow. This isn't the typical boy meets girl drama either. Yes I can wait to read the other King Novels but I am glad I started with this one first.

And what a pleasure it was to read Jeremy's and Leigh's love story. Friendships are tested all the time and a true friend is definitely hard to find. I loved that Jeremy was not a liar, that he did the right thing, and most of all that he found love when he vowed that he wouldn't. Now that all of the King brother's found true love, Quentin needs to deal with his demons and find true love once and for all! Excellent read.

The last of the King Brother's strikes again! Definitely a pleasurable read! Jeremy is certainly a warrior who was defeated by the love beast! Ms. Leigh, a.k.a "The Good Girl" let her guard down for just one night and was rewarded with passion, pleasure, and a reality check. Great Story! I hope Q Hinton can find love as well. Looking forward to reading more of Adrianne Byrd's series!

Kings all fall down.

Q is now the lone member of his self-proclaimed bachelor for life club as Jeremy falls for Leigh.
This story, at times, had me LOL. But it lacked the interaction between the main characters. But still entertaining due to Q's narration.
I can't wait to read his story. Hopefully it will be more along the lines of the first two in this series.

I enjoyed the story of Jeremy and Leigh. Very sexy and cute. I felt the ending was a little rushed with their story. Of Course Q is very entertaining and we get a glimpse of him and the good doctor. I cant wait for Q's story he is so fascinating to me. Thanks Ms. Byrd.I
