Trust a 18-year-old girl to enter into a marriage of convenience just because she´s been expelled from high school and is afraid of facing her parents - which, BTW, had been nothing but supportive through all her previous antics! I´ve read a lot of "marriage of convenience" books - some with good/believable motives behind it and some with silly/stupid ones - but I don´t remember having read one so unbelievable as this one.
BTW, the heroine does redeem herself and acts in a more mature way later in the book, but that beginning was less than exciting and I had a hard time trying to forget it while I was reading the rest of the story.
The good thing is, the book cover does justice to the hero and the heroine. They are really young (he´s 25 and she´s 18) in the story, and the models on the cover look the part.
The threat of losing his children to their grandmother, made Billy Stonecreek desperate. Marrying Cherry Whitelaw seemed like a solution to both their troubles. It was only supposed to be a temporary situation, but fighting the obstacles in their way only made them yearn for forever. Another heart warming lovestory from Ms. Johnston!
sweet story of second chance given to a young women who made more than a bad choice in the past but also faced injustice, and a young widow, father of twin daughters. they helped each othern struggled hard and finaly were able to become stronger and nurtured deep feelings. I loved how they stood to protect each other and how her family voutched for her and her new husband.
Cherry's an 18-year-old with baggage. Billy's a widow who's life is on shaky ground. This amazing story is how 2 messed up individuals came together to make each whole in spite of major past baggage. Add a set of adorable twins and you've got a story you can't put down.
