"Sí, se puede," was a phrase that became synonymous with this historical, impactful labor-rights activist. She was the co-founder of the National Farmworkers Association. This biography treats readers to her life story, including details of her birth, early upbringing, formative years and influences, and the accomplishments of Dolores Clara Fernández Huerta.
So, for what it is (juvenile non-fiction), I think this book does a fine job. I'm glad it didn't shy away from some things (such as being beaten at a protest by a POLICE OFFICER and sustaining horrific injuries), but was still craving more information than I should expect to find in an 85 pg book designed for middle schoolers.
Don't worry. I have the documentary, "Dolores" at home waiting for me :)
