Smith gives the incredible but relatively unknown story of the suffering of Christians in Madagascar in the mid-1800s. Hundreds died as the evil queen sought to exterminate the baby church and the newly translated Bible. Many stirring accounts of suffering, brutality, love not revenge, and faithfulness to God are given. The story has been made into a movie and translated in several languages. Actually I read the French version: Vélona: le Triomphe des Martyrs malgaches.
