Forbidden Steps is a novel that spans emotions and characters such as you have never encountered before. You will be drawn to these characters because they will entwine you with love, lies, murder, hatred, crime and passion. Who will you feel compassion for and who will you come to hate? You will be chilled by this gripping tale that will take you on a journey you never saw coming and an ending so shocking you could never imagine it.

Chad Kipton is a 22-year-old top male model that comes face to face with his fears and suffers the ultimate punishment for his passion. His stepmother, Vivian, has no idea what terror is in store for her when her beloved husband, Frank, dies suddenly of a heart attack and her youngest stepson – 17-year-old Danny - becomes tangled in a web so cleverly woven that he becomes blinded by his hatred.

After the devastating event that took the life of Frank’s first wife, Margo, Vivian made it her goal to snag the love of her life. All was going well until Frank’s fateful heart attack. Just when you think you’ve heard it all, things go topsy-turvy in this unbelievable twist of events.

In 1964 I wrote the top-ten hit song "NAVY BLUE" recorded by Diane Renay and in 1965 I had my own hit single as a singer entitled: "Concrete and Clay". I've written well over two hundred songs and many have been recorded by such artists as The 4 Seasons, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Dee Dee Sharp, Diane Renay just to name a few.

I now have just finished my second novel and it was immediately accepted by the first publisher to which it was submitted. We are now in the editing and negotiation stages.

My interests are writing, music, songwriting, and photography.

Forbidden Steps by Ed Rambeau is a full-throttle, sexually-twisted, wholly unpredictable mystery thriller that will leave you guessing up to the very last chapter. I watch my share of Whodunits on the telly, so I know a thing or two about mysteries, but not once did I guess where Ed was going with this storyline. Just when I felt comfortable and into the swing of things, he threw another wrench into the mix, sending me into hysterics as I devoured chapter after chapter trying to keep up with the murder threads.

Written in what is sometimes called “third person omniscient,” Ed Rambeau gives the reader God’s eye-view of the action; meaning you see into every character’s point of view. Never are we in the dark about what a character thinks, feels, or believes, or the motives of their heart. This is amazingly done, because one of these guys is a killer, and even through this lofty perspective, you won’t know who “dunit” until the very end.

If you enjoy murder mysteries, you will not be disappointed.

Rated R for language, as well as marginally explicit sexual situations, including rape and incest between Steps.

Just finished reading Forbidden Steps and loved every sentence of it! This was a fun novel to read that had my head spinning from the beginning right until the unexpected end. The story is a quick and easy read full of romance, mystery, murder and sex. There are so many twists and turns, I found myself giving up on trying to guess the end and just went along for the crazy, intense ride! As a first time novelist, Mr. Rambeau captured my attention right from the start and held me captive until the very last word, at which point, I honestly wanted more. I had a very hard time putting the book down. One can only hope there will be a Forbidden Steps Part 2 and/or a producer will decide to make this great mystery into a movie. I highly recommend Forbidden Steps and eagerly await Ed Rambeau's next novel.
