Excellent resource that gives explicit directions and examples of how to successfully establish reading/writing workshop in your own classroom. Highly readable, and based on research-proven practices. I really appreciate this book!
Not having a strong ELAR background, this book will help me in so many ways! I appreciate her explicit instructions in her mini lessons and all of her fabulous ideas! I just finished the book in time for a new school year. Never have I been so excited and equipped to teach ELAR before!
While I'd read bits and pieces of this book before, I hadn't read the whole thing cover to cover. Why did I wait so long??? I love the explicit, purposeful teaching that moves students towards independence. It really meshes with my philosophy of teaching and I can't wait to share the best parts of the book at a PD session for my district next week and then share more with my school in August!
Leslie Blauman offers a plethora of practical ideas that are grounded in good teaching practices. This book definitely challenged and pushed my thinking.
