Drama. Scandal. Secrets. And a whole lot of supernatural goings-on.

I'm not exactly sure when I fell in love with books. Probably on my mother's knee listening to her read Dr. Seuss to me. I do remember that I was barely old enough to cross the street by myself when I discovered the delights of the local library. Could anything be more wonderful than spending summer days surrounded by stacks of Nancy Drew mysteries? Over the years I fell in love with Victoria Holt, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, and J.R.R. Tolkien just to name a few. I read poetry, essays, biographies, and plays. In fact, I read anything I could get my hands on.
Years later (no, I'm not admitting how many) I'm still an avid reader, and my tastes are still as varied as they were in my youth, which I suppose helps to explain why I enjoy writing regency historicals under the name of Deborah Raleigh, as well as my contemporary paranormals as Alexandra Ivy. For now that is enough to keep me busy, but who knows what the future might hold!
I do have a few other loves in my life besides reading and writing, the most important being my unbelievably patient husband, David, and my two sons, Chance and Alexander. Without their constant support and belief in me, I never could have been able to follow my dreams. They are truly my heroes.
Werewives, they are rich, live in posh communities and get furry with the moon...
These are urban fantasy and not romances for the most part, I liked Ivy's story the best by far ( and gave the whole shebang an extra half star for her story), Fox's was prettty good and the other two were just ok.
Where Darkness Lives, a Guardian's of Darkness connected short by Alexandra Ivy – Sophia is more than capable of taking care of herself but when threats against her escalate, her unwanted – and sexy and very alpha – bodyguard is going to come in handy - Wow Sophia was one hot 'mama'. The not so maternal mother to the female 'were' quadruplets who have been the leads in most of the last few Guardian's of Eternity books, is sexy and sassy. I really liked her, she's prickly but the story added a nice amount of vulnerability which softens the 'Queen Bitch of the Universe' persona that she has had through the series. And I liked that she gets to benefit from a positive shift in life for the 'weres' which has come about as a result of some significant events in the series. (I liked it)
Angie Fox's Murder on Mysteria Lane - a werewolve with 'truth' powers is tapped to aid in an investigation among the rich and snooty werewives, a case that is going to test her powers – and her fashion sense- when she goes under cover posing as husband and wife with a vamp investigator - this was cute and looks to be a series starter. (It was pretty good)
Werewolf in Chic Clothing by Tami Dane – Moving into her fiance's fabulous home is a dream until the neighbors share their suspicions about the death of his former wife, making her wonder how well she knows the man she met on the internet - This is a slowly unfolding mystery that I just didn't find it that engaging when I read it and honestly I had to go back and take a peek at the last page to write this because none of it stuck with me. (it was ok)
What's Your's is Mine by Jesse Haines – A woman's past may effect her ability to join an exclusive club – um, er, well pack. - The beginning of the story was cute, but the excessive name dropping loses its charm as the story goes on, and the middle really dragged. The only thing keeping my interest was the question, “will she or won't she (turn 'were' or complete her own hunt)." It did have a cute little twist at the end though. (it was ok)
I got this book solely for the Alexandra Ivy story as I am a huge fan of the Guardians series.
I really liked the story and would have preferred it to be longer but then that is because I do love the series and just want to read more. However I did find Sophia's character to be strange. In previous books Sophia has always been portrayed to be a nasty self serving slut and now all of a sudden she is almost being portrayed as sweet and picky about her men which is really weird as in previous books she would sleep with anything that had a pulse! She was also previously portrayed as not caring about or having a good relationship with her daughters and now all of a sudden she is a proud mum and grandma to be!
I know that when writing it is impossible to give the reader all sides of a character and that maybe we are now seeing different sides to Sophia because this is her story but I just felt that the difference was too far apart to reconcile.
Having said all that it was a great story, I enjoyed it and I would read anything written by Ms Ivy and cannot wait until the next installment.
The common theme to this anthology was well to do were-women. Alexandra Ivy had the strongest female lead of the collection, as well as the best structured plot with her story, Where Darkness Lives. Tami Dane’s Werewolves In Chic Clothing was good, although I was expecting a bigger surprise ending. Murder on Mysteria Lane by Angie Fox might have been better if the story was longer. And I’m sorry, but Jess Haines What’s Yours Is Mine was pointless to read with such a weak storyline.
I love the title of this book! This was such a fun anthology, and even though I don't follow the series, if any, I was able to have enjoy and maybe be more into trying out the actual series. That's what anthologies are meant to do, right?
"Where Darkness Lives" by Alexandra Ivy - 5 Stars
I've only read one other novella in the Guardians of Eternity series and I didn't enjoy it as much as this one. This story rocked! And yes, it's my favorite in the whole anthology. It has one hell of a hot alpha male, Luc, who will make you drool all over yourself, especially when he's wearing his speedo by the pool. But not just that, I loved the heroine. Yes, Sophia is the Queen of Bitches, but I think she's a cool cat...or ... err.... wolf. She's had four daughters but thanks to being a werewolf she's still a hot and sexylicious blonde who is very confident and strong. After she realizes someone is trying to kill her she hires a bodyguard. Enter sexy Luc. And while he's doing his job keeping her safe, while keeping the secret of his identity from her, they realize they're mates. My only complaint... I wished it was a full length story!
"Murder on Mysteria Lane" by Angie Fox - 4 Stars
This was my first Angie Fox story. Actually first time I heard of her. In her paranormal world, Heather McPhee, the outcast werewolf who has the ability of getting inside people's mind and making them tell the truth, gets to go undercover into Vampire County, aka Malibu, where all the trophy wives live. Why? Because her alpha's sister was murdered and they have three days to find the killer. She's partnering with a hot vampire, Lucien Mead. From the get-go she's not the type to fit in but I liked seeing her evolve and come out of her shell even though she was completely out of her element. And how cool that she's basically a truth serum? I want her ability! Although it takes a bit of time for things to heat up between Heather and Lucien they do end up steaming up the pages, even though I thought their first time was a bit awkward-timing.
"Werewolves in Chic Clothing" by Tami Dane - 3 Stars
Not so hot about this as a paranormal story. For most of this story there are no paranormal creatures really, maybe just a hint. As a murder mystery type story with a hint of humor it did keep me entertained. I thought the fact the hero's name is Jon Stewart was pretty comical. So the basic idea of the story is a girl moves in with her long distance boyfriend, whom she met online. Turns out she's moved into the replica of Stepford Wives, oh and by the way, her fiance is the suspect or murdering his ex wife. Oh and can I just complain about the "fade to black" sexy moments?
"What's Yours is Mine" by Jess Haines - 2.5 Stars
Maybe a bit harsh, huh? But I just really didn't care much for this story. There's a bunch of were women that are recruiting to turn other powerful women into weres. They set their sights on Tiffany, but she's keeping a secret and they need to find out about it before they present her with the contract to become a were. I didn't know all this paperwork was involved into being turned! There's no sex in this story or even really a mention of it.
Whilst the quads mother, Sophia, is a strong werewolf, she is being targeted and decides a bodyguard is a good idea, rather than moving in with her son-in-law, the King of the Weres, Salvatore.
Her mate shows up for the job, but neither of them is prepared to believe it, or want it.
Drama. Scandal. Secrets. And a whole lot of supernatural goings-on.

I requested this book for review. I met Jess Haines at AAD Philly and she kept talking about this book that she wrote with Alexandra Ivy, Angie Fox, and Tami Dane. The title alone grabbed me! All I saw was DRAMA in the paranormal community! ((HOLLA))
In the first story we meet Sophia… Queen Bitch of the Weres… In Where Darkness Lives Someone is stalking her and when she hires Miami body guard… Luc she is not sure what to think… He’s a distraction to herself and her wolf.. Everyone in the neighborhood could have it out for Sophia.. There is a Nymph and her Cur then the vampire down the block.. Who knows who is trying to kill her… Then again it could be Luc with his killer body and eggs rancheros…. I enjoyed the chemistry between Luc and Sophia and when the sparks fly oh do they fly! Bodyguards can be very protective of your body, but in devilishly good ways!
In the story Murder on Mysteria Lane Holy chit batman but the Vampire Detective Lucien Mead was hot! And Heather and her tomboyish ways… Its was literally like the movie Miss Congeniality with Sandra Bullock only this chick was a were.. and well she was no walk in the park… The women of Mysteria lane know there is something strange about Heahter… but the one thing all the women have in common is they are all married to Vampires, and they are all weres of different classes. There is a Tiger, Vulture, and Omega Were. The story itself was great. There was a lot of mystery.. I couldn’t figure out who the bad guy was. There were many suspects and major players in the game, but I still was amazed by the turn of events and the reason for the murder of one of the werewives. Definitely want to read this story! It was one of my favorites!
In Werewolves in Chic Clothing… This was a great murder mystery possible suicide and all the clues lead you down a trail of who done it… Was it Jonathan in the kitchen with the fishing wire? Or perhaps it was the neighbor next door with the screaming children with a lead pipe? My second favorite story in this anthology! Christine just moved in with her new fiancé Jonathan and his son. On her first day she gets a visit from the women in this lush community. Things are not what they seem as the women all mention Jonathans late wife, and how they believe Jonathan is the murderer!
Christine doesn’t want to second guess her finance but… they haven’t really known each other long. There is the one fact that he is never home during the day works really long hours and he pops up out of nowhere scaring her in the dark… Could he be the murderer?
There are so many clues that take you on different paths.. but let me say this.. The Murderer will surprise you! I was definitely surprised… This neighborhood is filled a biting dog that doesn’t look like a dog.. Murdered cats at the door step… Yellow eyes in the woods at night.. And a neighbor who plays with really huge dogs at Midnight! And lots of Necking.
What’s yours in Mine was interesting tale of being part of the Inner Crowd. Still Waters is a gated community only it houses one of the largest werewolf packs in their state. Tiffany Winters moves into the community following her divorce. The women of Still Waters wants her to be a part of the pack but before they make their move they have to make sure she is right for them.
I was sometimes confused as I read the stories when going from one point of view to the other. There were some things that I had to go back and re-read to make sure that I understood. Tiffany has secret's of her own and once I figured out what it was, it sort of made sense. I did understand her motive but the logic behind the motive was just strange. But strange can be good. I did enjoy the ending and how it was kind of like, she got her comeuppance in return. She wanted to be part of the pack was even willing to black mail them, and in the end she got what she wanted… But not the outcome she was hopping for.
Over all I enjoyed reading this book… It took me a while but that was due to illness. I definitely recommend this book! Alexandra Ivy rocks! I was able to be introduced to three more new Authors which is a bonus for me. I will definitely be looking to read Tami Dane and Angie Fox And Jess Haines books. Actually I have Blood of Eden by Tami Dane now… It comes out in December so look for the review late November!

When done well, a tongue-in-cheek paranormal romance can be both laugh out loud funny and über sexy in the same instance. Kensington put together four great examples of this type of writing in 'The Real Werewives of Vampire County.' With heavy hitters like Alexandra Ivy's 'Where Darkness Lives' you won't be disappointed with this anthology. The only author I had read before was Ivy and now I have three new authors to "catch up with." 'Where Darkness Lives' by Alexandra Ivy
A tiny addition to her 'Guardians of Eternity' series, Ivy introduces us to Sophia, pure blood were and known as the 'bitch of all bitches', mother of the four were sisters in her series. Attempts on her life have forced her to hire a bodyguard, she goes outside of her family because she wants to have control. Like most PNRs, she doesn't plan on going gaga over her über hot new bodyguard and especially not having him force his way into her life and take control, but it happens. Sophia is constantly being referred to as the 'bitch of all bitches', so there is a lot of prickliness in the book and drool worthy scenes between her and were-stud Luc, who is your typical alpha. I thought for a short story, Ivy did a wonderful job of flushing out plot, backstory, characters depth and transition along with romance. It was really well done. You find out Sophia's history and it explains her present behavior. There is even a lot of drama between the two characters. I've only read one of Ivy's 'Guardians of Eternity' books, but I think I might have to visit with this series from the beginning. “Murder on Mysteria Lane” by Angie Fox
This one was probably my favorite of the four. Heather McPhee is a freak "lie detector" werewolf who has gained the distinction of the pack pariah. She is called in to investigate a werewolf's murder in an exclusive community because of her ability. She is forced to partner up with Lucien Mead, whose vampire contacts will get them into the community with little suspicion. Heather is immediately distrustful of the vampire, but cannot deny his hotness. The reason why I found this one the most entertaining was because of the comedy of the whole thing. Heather's interaction with the other trophy wives of the community was hysterical. It was just one big hot mess of a neighborhood. Not to mention Heather herself was a great character. The fact that she had to get one of the neighbors to put stickers on her clothes so she would know what to wear was hysterical and also the fact that she would strip down to her panties to get out of the restricting clothes the moment she got in her house was also funny. It was just an enjoyable read. Just don't delve too deep, entertaining yes, mystery make much sense? Not really. But, you'll get that from the beginning - if you wanted to kill someone why would you drop a chandelier on their head? “Werewolves in Chic Clothing” by Tami Dane
Where the first two novellas knocked my socks off, the second two were just so-so for me. Tami Dane takes us to "Stepford" in this tale of a New Yorker that meets a man on the internet, doesn't really know him, but decides to get engaged with him and move in. On her first day she meets the perfect women that live around him and learn that Jonathan's first wife might not have committed suicide — her husband or someone close might have killed her. This one just didn't go over well with me, because for one, Christine had an established "internet" relationship with Jonathan, so the romance just wasn't there. Next, on the first day the neighborhood women immediately warn her that her fiancé might have killed his former wife. Ok ladies, if you were so close to said dead wife, why did you wait for Christine to move in to start investigating? Next, Christine, really if you saw a picture of the former wife and she could have been your doppelgänger, doesn't that throw up red flags?? And then finally in the reveal it was just one of those "oh ok" moments. Fell flat. Cute idea, entertaining read, lack-luster implementation. “What’s Yours is Mine” by Jess Haines
Jess Haines addition to the pack was of a bunch of very unpleasant werewolf women. Tiffany Winters has moved to an exclusive gated community not for the ambiance, but for the wildlife. But, to become part of the pack she has to get in good with the other women which she finds a little problematic. I like the back story of this one but the ending kind of left me feeling silly. I think it should have ended differently. I think it was mainly because the characters were not likable and I felt no affinity with Tiffany. Again entertaining story but when I got to the end it was just so-so for me.
Overall the the four books were a welcome distraction from my usual reads. I got through the book quickly and felt for each new novella I got into I had to hurry up and finish because all were compelling. Yes, I did like the first two much better than the last, but I did enjoy all of them and look forward to reading more from all of the authors.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Recommended for paranormal romance and urban fantasy fans. There is sexual interactions in most of the novellas so for adults only.
Like this Like That

Where Darkness Lives" by Alexandra Ivy
Having read most of Ms. Ivy’s Guardians Of Eternity series, I was thrilled to see we would get an up close and personal view of the self proclaimed Queen Bitch Of The Werewolves herself-Sophia. All her daughters are now safely married ands he gets an unexplained urge to move closer to them, but not everyone is happy she has moved into the neighborhood. When too many close calls has Sophia hiring out for a bodyguard, she is unprepared for Luc. A gorgeous alpha werewolf who wants to do alot more then just guard Sophia from harm. The fur starts flying when Sophia is kidnapped and finds out that Luc hasn’t been completely honest with her.
A fun fast paced story with plenty of action and steamy loving to keep you thoroughly hooked. Sophia and Luc generate so much sexual tension you practically have to towel off while reading.
RATING: B
Murder on Mysteria Lane" by Angie Fox
When Heather McPhee’s alpha’s ex wife is murdered, he commands her to go with sexy vampire detective Lucian Mead and pose as his trophy wife to solve the crime. Talk about opposites…Lucian is a magnum of Dom Pérignon and Heather is a Papst Blue Ribbon beer. The woman of Mysteria Lane remind me of supernatural Desperate Housewives. Each has a secret and they are sure Heather is there to out them. As Heather and Lucian work to clean her up and solve this “who dun it”, they find that opposites do attract and maybe this fake marriage isn’t all that bad.
An enjoyable mystery with a dramatic flare that has you rolling your eyes and laughing at these crazy diva trophy wives and their penchant for alcohol. Engaging mystery that kept me guessing till the end.
RATING: B
What’s Yours is Mine" by Jess Haines
When Tiffany Winters moves in to the exclusive gated community of Stillwater following her divorce, it’s not because of the view. She knows it’s home to one of the most dangerous werewolf packs in the state and she wants in. The werewives want her too, but something about Tiffany is wrong and until they figure it out, no one is biting. When Tiffany’s secret comes out, the Stillwater pack finds out that sometimes a dog’s best friend is man.
Loosely, very loosely, based on Jess Haines’s best selling H&W Investigations series. In here we find Ms. Haines trademark snark and humor as Tiffany conjoles, wheedles and outright threatens a very diva and dangerous group of werewives into accepting her…or else.
Smooth writing and great characterization had me laughing at their antics. I admit that Tiffany’s reasons for wanting acceptance seemed strange in beginning but the ending wraps it up nicely and leaves you with a surprised chuckle.
RATING: B
Werewolves in Chic Clothing" by Tami Dane
Christine Price thinks she has found her Prince Charming with fiance Jonathon and his son. She moves to his home and soon finds herself accosted by his late wife’s best friends. Best friends who think Jon killed his wife and made it look like suicide. As Christine begins an informal investigation, she finds more then she bargained for with insane cats, demon children, and midnight dancing neighbors.
Fast pacing and multiple eccentic characters has you scrambling to keep up with all the twist and turns in this supernatural “who dun it.” I got a little lost here and there with the fast scene and POV switch ups. Plenty of laughter and off the wall antics keep you in stitches as you and Christine wander through this Monte Python version of the suburbs. The ending comes and clears up the confusion and the murderer is someone I never would have even suspected.
This book has four anthologies in it. It’s theme is The Stepford Wives or Wives of Orange County, which is a bunch of rich women who think they are all that and that they must have the latest fashion.
As for The Real Werewives of Vampire County, to me it is not worth buying. I suggest borrowing from the library if you want to try it out. I only picked this one up for Alexandra Ivy’s novella, since I’m enjoy her Guardians of Eternity series. I did try to read the others and you can see my individual reviews below.
Where Darkness Lives (Guardians of Eternity #8.5) By Alexandra Ivy
~ 3 Stars ~
This one was about Sophia, the mother to the four werewolf daughters in the series. Sophia, I have never been a fan of. She is a total bitch and drop dead gorgeous, though the author did try to give her a more softer side and explain why she is such a bitch. Luc, is a purebred werewolf as well, drop dead sexy, and alpha to the core. These two have an instant attraction and with the werewolf magic coming back and mates being found it works. They don’t give in, but fight the attraction until they both combust with some intense sexual encounters. Their is also a mystery and I did not see who the bad guy was until it happened.
Where Darkness Lives is a good read.
Murder on Mysteria Lane By Angie Fox
~ 3 Stars ~
I was a little confused at the begging on what was happening, but soon figured it out. We get a verity of supernatural creatures from vampires to a verity of shifters. This one is a murder mystery with a werewolf who does not fit in with her pack, but has a very rear ability that is needed. She ends up having to team up with a Vampire to find the murder and they uncover something deeper and more sinister going on. It’s got the Wives of Orange County thing going. The relationship was interesting and we get a few hot and heavy scenes.
Murder on Mysteria Lane was a good read.
Werewolves in Chic Clothing By Tami Dane
~ DNF ~
I ended up DNF this one at Chapter 4. I could not figure out what was going on nor could I get into the story. Felt no connection to the characters or plot.
What's Yours Is Mine By Jess Haines
~ 2 Stars ~
This one is more urban fantasy and has no romance. It’s a women with a past looking to secure an advantage for her future, but it does not turn out as she hoped. We get rich and catty house wives, who are werewolves. I really should have DNF this one too. It just did not work for me.
What a fun anthology! I'll break it down into the 4 novellas for you guys:
"Where Darkness Lies" by Alexandra Ivy-5 flames My favorite in the anthology. Sophia is the biggest bitch of them all, if any of you have read Alexandra Ivy's Guardians of Darkness series. She's a fun heroine who has just opened up a strip club for the ladies ;) Hottest male weres around. But unfortunately she's being attacked. She hires a bodyguard who isn't what he seems, and might be her mate.
"Murder on Mysteria Lane" by Angie Fox- 4.5 flames Think of this one like "Miss Congeniality" except with werewolves and vampires. I loved the voice and the feel to the writing. The mystery was great.
Werewolves in Chic Clothing" by Tami Dane- 3 flames This was a bit confusing as the first page is all in italics, talking about Michelle's life. But Michelle is not the heroine, she's the hero's dead wife. Once I realized what was going on, it was a pretty good mystery, and I was way off on who dunnit. The only thing I didn't like was that Christine believed the worst in her fiance so easily and was so quick to judge. She befriended the neighbors and believed them over Jon, her fiance.
"What's Yours is Mine" by Jess Haines- 3.5 flames This one doesn't have a heroine/hero as it's not a romance while all the others are. BUT it does have 5 female main characters who could give those "Real Housewives" on TV a run for their money. The more I think about this story, the more I feel Jess Haines captured those "Real Housewives" to the T. Don't expect a romance or a heroine, but think of it like a half hour reality show with bitching, shopping, conniving, and back-stabbing.
The only redeeming short story in this anthology was Alexandra Ivy's. The rest of the stories irritated me to no end, and I wanted to slap the other women in the other short stories. If not for Ms. Ivy's SS being included (I give it 4 stars), I would have given this book 1 star. I would not recommend buying this book - just get it at the library and only read Ivy's SS.
"Where Darkness Lives” by Alexandra Ivy No one’s more surprised than Sophia when she’s struck by an unfamiliar maternal urge to move near her daughters. But instead of being greeted by a welcome committee, she’s targeted by kidnappers…and saddled with a gorgeous bodyguard on a mission to protect—and seduce
Heather's Notes This story was obviously part of a series, but it was not bad on its own. You could follow the plot and I liked Sophia and Luc. They made a good couple. I may go back and read the series they are in.
“Werewolves in Chic Clothing” by Tami Dane Ever since Christine Price moved in with her fiancé, Jonathan, and his twelve year-old son, she’s worked hard to fit in with a cadre of local women whose lives seem picture-perfect. Except no one in Jon’s upscale neighborhood is quite who they appear to be. Least of all Jon
Heather's Notes This book also felt like part of a series, but I don't think it was. The little italics part at the beginning and the end made no sense, but the overall story was good. I liked that Christine and Jon actually talked. I would have enjoyed reading more.
Murder on Mysteria Lane” by Angie Fox When a werewolf trophy wife is found dead in Vampire County, Heather McPhee goes undercover to investigate. Heather’s never been a mascara-and-manicures sort of girl, but she’s willing to learn. Especially with sexy vampire detective Lucien Mead posing as her husband…
Heather's Notes I also liked this story. Heather (really liked the name) was an interesting character. I would have enjoyed learning more about her and her power. Lucien was also nice but he played a very minor role in the story.
“What’s Yours is Mine” by Jess Haines Still Waters is like many other exclusive gated communities—except that it’s home to one of the largest werewolf packs in the state. But Tiffany Winters isn’t frightened of her big, bad new neighbors. In fact, she intends to take her place among the pack…
Heather's Notes I did not care for this story at all. There was no romance, none of the characters were really likeable, and the story felt pointless. This book brought done the entire book. I would have been happier not reading it.
I enjoyed reading the stories in this book about the werewives.; even though I liked all 4 stories, I found What's Yours Is Mine, a little hard to swallow. What's Yours is Mine, by Jess Hanes, was more about a woman who wanted to become a werewolf to save herself from her ex-husband and his group of hunters. She thought being a werewolf would solve her problems and give her a long life and help her heal faster. Werewolves in Chic Clothing, by Tami Dane, was good; although I felt a little disappointed at who the killer was, but the storyline was good. Where Darkness Lives, by Alexandra Ivy, was about a werewolf, who needed protection and fell for her protector. Murder On Mysteria Lane, by Angie Fox, was my favorite. Heather and Luc only had 3 days to solve a crime, or there would be a war between werewolves and vampires.
I received The Real Werewives of Vampire County from the fantabulous Jess Haines (thanks, Jess), and couldn’t resist the quirky charm and humor of these upper-class denizens of the supernatural world.
Where Darkness Lives by Alexandra Ivy – No one’s more surprised than Sophia when she’s struck by an unfamiliar maternal urge to move near her daughters. But instead of being greeted by a welcome committee, she’s targeted by kidnappers…and saddled with a gorgeous bodyguard on a mission to protect – and seduce.
Alexandra has a lot going on in her life and she’s made more than a few enemies. You’ll probably find yourself working the mystery alongside Alexandra and Luc as they try to discover who’s behind the attacks, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I was looking at the wrong person.
Murder on Mysteria Lane by Angie Fox – When a werewolf trophy wife is found dead in Vampire County, Heather McPhee goes undercover to investigate. Heather’s never been a mascara-and-manicures sort of girl, but she’s willing to learn. Especially with sexy vampire detective Lucien Mead posing as her husband.
Mystery and humor come together perfectly in Fox’s contribution to the Werewives anthology. Lucien Mead is cool and totally in control, always the perfect picture of sophistication… and Heather McPhee is not.
I think this one had me laughing the most because Heather is totally bad-ass when she straps on her knives and gets down to business, but put her in heels and a sundress and she’s completely lost. Seeing her try to blend in with her new high-class neighbors was a riot.
Heather might be a totally tough werewolf but that’s not what makes her stand out. In addition to being able to get all furry, she’s like a walking truth serum. Let her lock eyes with you and the truth will be known. Of course, every power has its limitations so solving the mystery isn’t as easy as Heather originally believes. In addition to Heather’s endless challenge of fitting in with the neighbors, there’s a healthy dose of comedy injected into the story by Lucien’s assistant, Vinny. What can I say about the guy? He has a sharp sense of humor and the ability to change his shape, so you never know who you’re going to get when he walks through the door; it might be the stereotypical French maid or you could be greeted by Alexander Skarsgård. He definitely keeps you on your toes.
I would love to see Heather in other adventures… but only if Lucien and Vinny were tagging along too. It just wouldn’t be the same without them.
Werewolves in Chic Clothing by Tami Dane – Ever since Christine Price moved in with her fiance, Jonathan, and his twelve-year-old son, she’s worked hard to fit in with a cadre of local women whose lives seem picture-perfect. Except no one in Jon’s upscale neighbourhood is quite who they appear to be. Least of all Jon.
Tami’s story packed the most mystery for me as Christine is reminded of that old adage – if it’s too good to be true then it probably isn’t. She’s given up her entire life to be with the man she loves, and now she’s not sure that was the smartest thing to do. Her new neighbors have suspicions about Jon and Wife #1, and if they’re right, the situation might not be too good for Wife #2.
This one had to be a one-sitting reading because there was no way that I was going to put this story down before finding out what was going on. Tami did a great job of stringing me along and I didn’t mind one bit. Werewolves in Chic Clothing will keep you guessing until the very end.
What’s Yours is Mine by Jess Haines – Still Waters is like many other exclusive gated communities – except that it’s home to one of the largest werewolf packs in the state. But Tiffany Winters isn’t frightened of her big, bad new neighbors. In fact, she intends to take her place among the pack.
The previous stories had the ladies sharing the spotlight with the men, but Jess’ tale of the suburban supernatural is all about the women. Sure, there are guys here too, but the women have ways of getting what they want. Wow! Those werewolves sure can be a randy bunch. LOL
If you’ve read Jess’ H&W Investigations series, you know about the Others, so you’ll be familiar with how things work in this world. The White Hats sort of make an appearance, too. However, there’s no Shiarra in this adventure because the story belongs 100% to a few members of the Diamondfang clan.
Meet Cassandra, Vera, Alexis, and Heather. These ladies are good at getting what they want, and what they want is new blood. They set their sights on newcomer Tiffany, but they don’t realize Tiffany has set her sights on them. If you’re looking for some good ol’ fashioned cat-fighting, What’s Yours is Mine will give you what you want… with a werewolf twist, of course. I loved the snarkiness of Cassandra and her cohorts, laughing regularly at some of the verbal sparring that went on between the ‘ladies.’ This is a group of wolves that don’t have to whip out claws or fangs to draw blood because they’ve raised acting superior to everyone else to the level of being an art form.
If you like your paranormal action with just a touch of humor then you need to give The Real Werewives of Vampire County a try. The stories inside are just as great as the title implies.
Alexandra Ivy's story was great. I liked it so much I'm going to delve deeper into this series. The other three were just blah to me. So an overall 3 stars, but a 5 for Where Darkness Lives.

This anthology is a fun read. Each of the stories take you into a different area of people’s lives. I think it’s even better then television. Where Darkness Lives:
Sophia thought that moving closer to her daughter would make things better. She’s got her own business to run, a nice home in a gated community and all she wants is to be on her own and take life one day at a time. Why someone would want to kidnap her is beyond her understanding. Now she’s stuck with a bodyguard with a body to die for and an attitude she could certainly do without. How this little play runs its course is just something you’ll have to read on your own. LOL I thoroughly enjoyed this section of the book and will certainly keep an eye out of more of Alexandra Ivy’s works. Murder on Mysteria Lane: Heather McPhee is both honored and feared in her pack. Her gift is used for their benefit and her own. When a werewolf trophy wife is found dead she is sent in by Finnegan the Alpha of her pack she is not a happy camper. She is paired up with a Vampire Detective and expected to go undercover to find the killer and she’s got only three nights to do it or her pack goes to war. I love Heather’s character, she an uber tomboy on steroids. She’s also got a very dry sense of humor that just seems to click with me. I hope she will be making more appearances in the future. Whats Yours is Mine: There’s a new hottie in the neighborhood and unfortunately she’s single. Chain up her husbands ladies. Cassandra Sachs thinks that “Tiffany” will fit right in with her group. A group of Werewolves. Little do they know that Tiffany has plans of her own for this group of women and their families. Too bad that in their zeal to bring in someone new it could all come back to bite them in the rear. This little story is about the ladies of a werewolf pack who think they can find new talent better then the boys can. I thought it was humorous and fun to read. Werewolves in Chic Clothing: Christine Price has her life packed into her old junker and a rusty U-Haul. She’s leaving the city to move in with her Fiancé and his twelve year old son. She’s excited and extremely nervous. Is she doing the right thing? Will this all work out for a “Happily Ever After”? Arriving at her new home she sees Jonathon standing in the driveway wearing an extremely happy face. He opens the driver’s door before she even puts the car in PARK and is sweeps her into his arms. This might sound like your everyday fairy tale where Mr. Wonderful does everything in his power to make his lady happy and welcome. But Jonathon’s got secrets. The whole neighborhood has secrets as she finds out when she meets the neighborhood ladies. I was waiting for Christine to pack herself into her car and head back to the city by chapter 3. The world she is entering is like the Twilight Zone compared to her past life. This story is for anyone who enjoys intrigue and romance all balled up in a comedic paranormal romance. FTC Full Disclosure: I received and ARC of this book from the publishers who only asked for a fair and impartial review.
Where Darkness Lives by Alexandra Ivy Favorite Line: "It's all that testosterone rotting your brain." (p. 28)
If you are unfamiliar with Alexandra Ivy's Guardian's of Eternity series you may have difficulty connecting to the characters in Where Darkness Lives. Four of the key characters in the Guardian's of Eternity series are Sophia's (the heroine of Where Darkness Lives) daughters. I've read most of the eight full length books and one of the two (other) anthologies set in the Guardian world, and I still felt disconnected from the characters.
I'm not sure there is any way Ivy could have made me like Sophia. Sophia gave birth to quadruplets as part of an experiment to save the werewolf race. She is regarded as an ice queen and that characterization followed her into this short story about her finding love. Sophia is a hot number. She dresses in low cut tops, high heals and miniskirts. She also runs a male strip club. Her love interest Luc is an alpha male who's not afraid to express his desire for Sophia.
The attraction is instant and page burning, but the story is light-hearted despite the attempts to murder Sophia. I was surprised by plot beneath the would-be assassination story line, but overall I felt BLAH about the novella.
Murder on Mysteria Lane by Angie Fox Favorite Lines: "What did the guy want? I'd kept my red thong. God, I couldn't wait to get back to the pack where I could run around naked in peace." (p. 127)
Murder on Mysteria Lane is the best short story included in the anthology. It's quick to anger heroine Heather is hilarious. She acts/reacts so honestly there is little doubt on how she feels about those surrounding her. For a woman blessed/cursed with such an awesome ability (in addition to being a werewolf) it was surprising to see how innocent she was.
Her hero Lucian is described as a beautiful piece of eye candy, but he's also a man who knows what he wants and with the patience to wait for it. He didn't steal the novella. Nope, it was a secondary character named Vinny. Vinny is irreverent and capable of great feats. (Ha, wait till you see what he can do. Consider him the X-Man of the group.)
Murder on Mysteria Lane is a paranormal romance that made me laugh. I didn't know who the murderer was right away, as those women in the gated community were pretty much all vicious manipulators. It was a cute story that ended with not true love or mates for life, but hope of a happily ever after. *Happy sigh*
Werewolves in Chic Clothing by Tami Dane Favorite Lines: "I just want to have sex. Who would have thought that would be such a problem." (p. 204)
I was not impressed with Werewolves in Chic Clothing. It's a paranormal mystery with a hint of romance. The couple was already in love via the Internet. They spent plenty of time together prior to sharing a home, but the heroine was not told about the paranormal ties until the very end. The reader knows it's a paranormal story despite the story being told in the first person from the heroine's POV. The heroine never considers the paranormal until she is told about the paranormal. I don't think it adds to the story. This is a story that could have easily had the paranormal removed without losing much.
Werewolves in Chic Clothing is slightly entertaining, but the conclusion felt forced and left me wondering why I wasted my time reading it. I didn't like any of the secondary characters and the hero had so little page time that there was never a chance of my connecting with him. I'd skip it if I were you.
What's Yours is Mine by Jess Haines Favorite Lines: "So did I. Until he started telling me how much I reminded him of his sister." (p. 315)
What's Yours is Mine is in no way, shape or form a romance. It's a piece of fiction filled with paranormal creatures or an urban fantasy without any hint of romance. I didn't particularly care for it because it confused me. The blurb made me think it'd be a short story focused on Tiffany, and in a way it was.
However, What's Yours is Mine is told in the third person and follows the machinations of several characters. It never focuses on just one person. The actions of all the characters culminates in an ironic ending which may be funny to some people, but left me irritated. I bought into the idea of a paranormal romance anthology and this story is not a romance. I won't be re-reading it.
Where Darkness Lives – Alexandra Ivy. Sophia is a revered among the werewolves. She was one of the few females in the past centuries able to bear children. She is the mother of the four purebred females, one of whom was the current Queen of the Weres. But someone is trying to kill her, and she is forced to hire a bodyguard. Enter Luc, a gorgeous, purebred alpha male who wants to do more than just guard her body. Together they try to keep Sophia alive and feed their mutual desires before time runs out.
Usually I find that short stories feel rushed or the romance feels forced. I am happy to say this story was perfectly paced, and story was quite enjoyable. This is not the first time we have met Sophia in the Guardians of Eternity series, but you do not have to be a fan of the series or know the other characters to enjoy this story. We meet Sophia for the first time in Darkness Everlasting. In that story she is cold and selfish. I am happy to say that although she is still a bit self-centered, her character seems to have grown.
Very enjoyable story.

Murder on Mysteria Lane – by Angie Fox. Eternal Life Estates in Vampire County (or more commonly referred to as Malibu) is where the elite of the supernatural world want to live. And there is no hotter trend for the up and coming vampire, than a werewife. But when one of these werewives turns up dead, the vampire counsel send vampire, Lucian Mead, their best detective, to investigate. But Lucian needs help from werewolf Heather McPhee, who has the power to get into your head and pull out the truth. Although blending in with the locals may be hard since Heather’s idea of high fashion is something with a lot of pockets for all her weapons. Together they go undercover as the new mixed couple on Mysteria Lane to find out what happened before the werepack declares war on Vampire County.
This was a great story and I am sorry there wasn’t more to it. I loved the characters of Lucian and Heather. I have no idea what Vinny is, but I love him. He’s awesome! Ms. Fox – Any chance you want to continue the supernatural crime fighting adventures of Lucian and Heather? I, for one, would follow them.
I enjoyed this so much, I have already downloaded Love Bites and Gentlemen Prefer Voodoo by Angie Fox (both downloadable at B&N for $2.99, as of today that is) and will be getting to those in as soon as I can.

Werewolves in Chic Clothing by Tami Dane. Christine Price quit her job, sold her apartment and is moving to Maryland to start a new life with a wonderful man who she met online. Jonathan Stewart is her Prince Charming and she is looking forward to her happily ever after. Except strange things are happening in her neighborhood, her new neighbors are…odd, and what happened to Jonathan’s first wife, was it suicide or murder…is her Prince Charming really Jack the Ripper.
This was a very intriguing and well written story. Not the usual fare under paranormal romance. It had a very Twilight Zone feel to it. You knew nobody was quite what they seemed, but you really weren’t sure who to trust, or even who was what. Couldn’t put this story down, and I certainly wasn’t going to bed until I finished.

What’s Yours is Mine by Jess Haines. When the women of Still Waters the exclusive, gated community in NJ saw Tiffany Winters they not only wanted her to join their yacht club, they wanted her to join their pack. The Diamondfangs want to increase their numbers, but only with the most elite people, and they think Tiffany might have what it takes. The question is, is Tiffany all she appears to be.
This was a well written story and it kept me interested until the end. Since I was not familiar with Jess Haines’ series, I was not sure when I was reading it if I was supposed to be excited for the werewolves, or be afraid for Tiffany; did Tiffany want to become a werewolf, or was she a spy for an organization to take down the werewolves. I did look up Ms. Heines’ HGW Investigation Novels which are about P.I. Shiarra Waynest, although this story doesn’t include Shia or her boyfriend Chaz. I am certain I would have enjoyed it more if I was familiar with the series and whether or not the weres or vampires were the good guys or the bad guys.
The Real Werewives of Vampire County - Anthology * I received a copy of this book from Kensington in exchange for an honest review*
"Where Darkness Lives" by Alexandra Ivy Sophia is an alpha female that is used to taking care of herself. She is the owner of a local bar and has recently bought a house to be close to her daughters. When her life is threatened, alpha werewolf Luc steps in as a bodyguard to find out who is trying to hurt her.
Sophia is a strong character that knows what she wants but is willing to accept help when she needs it. She hasn’t had an easy life and has a hard time trusting people, Luc is no different. She is devastated when she finds out his secret. Luc has avoided relationships and finding his mate but there is something about Sophia that calls to him.
Overall this was a strong story in this anthology. The ending was a surprise that I enjoyed. I would definitely pick up other books by this author.
"Murder on Mysteria Lane" by Angie Fox Heather McPhee is the pack investigator and her expertise is needed in suburbia to help solve the murder of a werewolf. She has a unique ability that with a touch, people have to tell the truth. Lucien hopes to use her talent to help solve the murder while convincing Heather to give him a chance. Sunny’s murder turns out to be more complicated than they ever imagined.
I loved seeing Heather when she first showed up in suburbia, she was too funny. She obviously didn’t fit in with their fancy ways and needed help to blend in. Throughout the story we see her transformation not only physically but mentally as well.
Although this was a short story, it definitely didn’t lack on the drama, intrigue and adventure. It kept me guessing until the very end. I love Angie’s books and this was no exception.
"What's Yours is Mine" by Jess Haines The pack is looking to expand their pack and their new neighbor Tiffany looks like she will be the perfect addition. They just have to convince their leader to sign off on it. Tiffany isn’t what she seems and Vera is the only one that sees through her. Can Tiffany persuade the other’s that she is perfect for the pack?
The women of the Diamond Fangs are smart women that have it all, beautiful houses, sexy husbands and all the money they could possibly want. Their pack numbers have decreased and they are always looking for the perfect candidate that is willing to sign the Notice of Mutual Consent.
Tiffany is their new neighbor and she seems to fit right in with the women but there is something about her that isn’t right. Tiffany was a fun character; she has a history with weres that she is trying to hide from the women. She isn’t proud of the things she did in the name of love and wants to change her life. She is smart and conniving and knows how to get what she wants, I loved that about her. The ending was fabulous.
"Werewolves in Chic Clothing" by Tami DaneChristine has left her life to move in with her finance Jonathan. He has given her everything she could possible want, including her own studio in the basement. Strange things begin happening around the house and the neighbors try and convince Christine that there was more to the death of Jonathan’s first wife than meets the eye.
Christine doesn’t know what to make out of the neighbors. They start showing up before she gets moved in good and they all want to be her friends. They suspect that Jonathan’s first wife was murdered and try to convince her to investigate it. Things are not what they seem and there is more to the story than even they realize.
After things start happening to Christine she begins to question her decision to move in with Jonathan. In the end though she trusts her instincts and everything comes out.
Overall this was a great set of short stories that blend well with each other. I would definitely read other books by these authors and give The Real Werewives of Vampire County 4 Flaming Hearts.
The Real Werewives of Vampire County Paranormal Romance Anthology –Nov. 1st, 2011 4 stars
Where Darkness Lives by Alenxandra Ivy Sophia is a pure blooded werewolf, a renowed tough chick, and a revered figure in the were community. But lately, things have not been going well for her. Her youngest daughter, Cassandra, has mysteriously disappeared, and Sophia herself is being stalked. When she hires a new body guard, she is dismayed to find a sexy, full-blooded were, Luc. Luc makes her blood tingle in a way it never did before. Can she resist his seduction?
Sophia is definitely tough, maybe a little too much in the beginning, but I like how she slowly softens up in the end. The chemistry between her and the Mr. Perfect Luc is red-hot! Together, their banters and the constant “will she or will she not yield” makes this story a sexy and solid read! 4 stars
Murder at Mysteria Lane by Angie Fox When the ultra tomboy werewolf, Heather McPhee, is recruited by her pack leader to investigate the death of a werewolf trophy wife, she never expected to be in this much trouble. First, she has to go undercover, disguise herself, and somehow fit in the posh, snooty neighborhood of Eternal Life Estate. Second, she has to pose as the wife of the sexy Lucien Mead, the vampire investigator. Can Heather find the murderer before this case kills her? This is a fun story to read! Heather is a hoot. I love her transformation from the tomboy to the Stepford wife and her numerous misadventures. With such a fun heroine, it is a bit evitable that Lucien pales in comparison. Thankfully, the rest of the supporting characters/trophy werewolf wives are equally entertaining and kept me in suspense as I tried to figure out which one of them is the murderer. A fun, fun, fun read! 4 1/2 stars
Werewolves in Chic Clothing by Tami Dane Christine Price packed up her belongings and moved across the country to be with her fiancé Jon and his twelve years old son. But despite the swanky neighborhood and her great romance with Jon, Christine feels that something is not quite right. When her three neighbors hinted that Jon’s first wife was murdered, Christine is spooked and determined to find out how she died. Is Jon who he appears to be? Are her three new neighbors really innocent? This is a solid, whodunit read with a cute twist at the very end. I enjoyed this story a lot because it’s so gripping! Can we trust Jon? Is he really innocent? Christine is independent and smart, and you can’t help but worry that Jon is the next Bluebeard. I like how she and her three new neighbors teamed up to “investigate” the mystery behind Jon’s ex-wife’s death. Definitely an exciting read!! 4 stars
What’s Yours is Mine by Jess Haines Tiffany Winters is looking for a place to belong, and she will do anything to achieve her goal. Even though the residents of Still Waters are not what they appear to be, Tiffany is pulling out all the stops to charm the queen of the group, Cassandra, and her clique. But what happens when they discover Tiffany’s past? This story is less of a romance, but more of a cliquey drama with a Mean Girl vibe. While the premise is rather interesting with a shocking twist at the end, I can’t help but notice that the characters are unusually catty for a bunch of werewolves. I dislike the constant jockeying and bitching for power. Still, it was a pretty sweet moment at the end when Tiffany achieves her goal only to realize that it might not be worth it after all. 3 stars

"Where Darkness Lives" by Alexandra Ivy (Guardians of Eternity #7.6)
I’m not fully versed in the Guardians of Eternity series, but this novella feels very much like it’s connected to other stories with numerous character references and plotlines that aren’t included here. Not that the story is confusing, it’s not. The story is about werewolf Sophia, prized among her community for her fertility (she has four full grown daughters who I’m guessing had their own stories previously in this series) who reluctantly hires a bodyguard when numerous threats are made against her life. The lust is instant and almost just as instantly declared to be love for no discernable reason that I could see. Sophia is prickly and waspish, but we are constantly told how hot she is, so that proved good enough for the equally hot, stereotypically alpha Luc. Everything felt tired in this book. The characters, their thoughts, the romance. I’ve read basically this exact story a million times before, and I’m afraid it hasn’t improved over time. Sexual Content: One graphic sex scene Rating: 2/5
"Murder on Mysteria Lane" by Angie Fox
This was my first Angie Fox story and it was great fun. Sexy when it should be, funny when it could be, and smart and clever everywhere else. Heather McPhee is a werewolf with the rare ability to extract the truth from people. She gets ‘loaned’ out to vampire Lucien Mead to investigate a murder. The undercover operation forces them to pretend to be married, a storyline which actually didn’t get taken advantage of as much as I had hoped, but I loved Heather’s Pretty Woman/Miss Congeniality transformation from tomboy to trophy wife, and the genuinely sweet way Lucien and Heather fell for each other. This story was over much too soon and I really hope Angie considers writing a series about these characters. Sexual Content: One sex scene Rating: 4/5
"What's Yours is Mine" by Jess Haines
I’m a huge fan of Jess Haines’ H&W Investigation series, so I was psyched to learn that this short story would be set in the same world. Unfortunately, apart from the twist ending, I was completely underwhelmed. The story has no real strong character to connect with, rather there is a group of pampered, catty, elite ‘werewives’ prowling for a suitable new woman to join the pack, which they find—with much disagreement—in Tiffany Winters. The writing itself is fine, but the sharp characterizations and killer dialogue I’ve come to expect from Jess was noticeably absent. Sexual Content: A scene of sensuality Rating: 2/5
"Werewolves in Chic Clothing" by Tami Dane
The Burbs meets Desperate Housewives in this surprisingly fun mystery. When Christine moves across the country to move in with her fiancé Jon in his posh, gated community, the welcome she receives from the other wives in the neighborhood is overwhelming…especially when they tell her that they suspect Jon killed his first wife. Christina was a likeable, fully fleshed out character with a wonderfully unique ‘voice’ and pragmatism that was kissed with enough curiosity to get her in and out of one crazy situation after the next. The supernatural element is light, and almost superfluous, but the story entirely enjoyable. Sexual Content: References to sex Rating: 3/5
My favorite story and the sole reason why i got this book was because of Where Darkness Lives, by Alexandra Ivy
After reading all of Ivy's Guardian of Eternity novels you know that Sophia the mother to Regan, Darcy , Cassandra and Harley is one of the toughest and nastiest she-wolves around , but it is funny to see Sophia's 'maternal' side when she moves near her daughters especially with the youngest daughter Cassandra missing and Harley is about to bore her first litter of pups .
But when she moves in to town she welcomed by kidnappers and danger lurking around the corner her life is put in danger , and Luc is her gorgeous body guard she discovers her strong attraction to her fierce protector and awakening the mating urges within her that has been asleep for ages .
I love this story it is funny to see a soft side to Sophia than her tough side and it was extremely hilarious when she learned that Luc is her son-in law's right hand man , the same son -in law she always had an argument with when she first moved in town .
Those who know me will probably be able to guess I wanted to read this book because it has a story by Jess Haines. Luckily her story wasn't the only gem in this anthology. I will give my thoughts about each of the 4 stories.
"Where Darkness Lives" by Alexandra Ivy I strongly disliked Sophia, the lead character. The plot was largely evolving around a romance and not liking one of the two people involved in the romance isn't a good thing I think. So this story didn't work for me. Maybe I should try something else by Ivy as the writing was decent.
"Murder on Mysteria Lane" by Angie Fox This story was fun and enjoyable. I really liked Heather and Lucien and wouldn't mind reading other stories with the two of them in the lead. The story did feel a bit chaotic and rushed at times though. I most probably will read more by Fox in the future.
"Werewolves in Chic Clothing" by Tami Dane A really cool story. The atmosphere, setting and pacing of this story were all great. The characters ranged from weird to mysterious and from cooky to likeable. The story was clever and fun and if it's any indication as to the quality of other work by Dane she might become a must buy. I'm putting her upcoming book 'Blood of Eden' on my wishlist in any case.
"What's Yours is Mine" by Jess Haines This story is very different in mood and setting (although set in the same world) as Haines H&W Investigations series. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely not! I loved this snarky story which in my opinion fitted the title of the anthology the best. I could easily see this story play out in an episode of Desperate Housewives (if there were werewolves in that show). It is fun, catty, snarky and as with all good stories: much too short. I dont think I need to tell you I'll definitely read Haines upcoming books.
Conclusion: I enjoyed (if not loved) three out of the four stories and will pick up more books more by at least two of the three authors I didn't know yet, which is a great score I think.
Darkness Eternal Temnotou navěky uzavírá tuto knihu Spolu v temnotě povídkou o Urielovi, členu Viktorova klanu, a o Katy, čarodějnici a matce Layly.
Since there is four authors here, two new-to-me and two familiar, I always read my favorite author first. That would be Angie Fox.
Hearing the basis about the story left me a bit hesitant. This is quite the departure from her Demon Slayer books, and yes, vampires really are not a "favorite" of mine.
However, like with the Demon Slayer books, Angie never lost her unique, fun humor voice.
Heather, the main heroine is a were-wolf, and she was down-right humerous and FUN! All that I associate with Angie's stories. The entire story had engaged my humor. I did smile at Heather's run in with a biker witch and snorted in laughter at the rough time.
Now I do have to say I like Heather's unique gift and the role she played in the Pack. Totally different.
5 Stars - And I really hope Angie considers doing a spin off with Heather and Lucien. The two prove to be so much fun.. And Vinny! He was a hoot and we never really learned WHAT he was.
Alexandra Ivy - Quite behind on this series; however, I had read the book where Sophia was first mentioned. Yes, in the book she came off as a cold hearted bitch. There were reasons. In this story we see beyond the facade, what she doesn't want the rest of the world to see. It really made her character redeemed.

Jess Haines - New to me author. I do have one of her books in my to be read pile. I felt this was the best way to give her writing style a try, to see if I would like it.
