82 books13 followersMartinus Dwianto Setyawan. Born in Batu, Malang, on August 12, 1949. He was the elder brother of Rm. Sindhunata, who is also a writer.
Since 1972, he had been actively writing children’s stories, detective stories, fairy tales, adventure stories, and family stories. Starting in 1978, he wrote short stories, young adult novelettes, and novels. His works were widely published in Kompas, Gadis, Femina, Kartini, Anita, Bobo, Kawanku, Mode, and others.
In addition to those books, he greatly wanted to create illustrated storybooks and comics, but he felt he could not draw. Eventually, he collaborated with several illustrators, including Slamet Hendro Kusumo, Keo Budi Harijanto, and others. This collaboration produced many comics and illustrated stories (including advertising comics), which were published in book form or featured in newspapers, tabloids, and children’s magazines. This marked the beginning of the formation of DS Group, which later became known as DS Studio.
Aside from writing, he also managed children’s pages in the daily newspaper Surya Hoplaa (Surabaya), and gave talks about children’s reading at various events. He also conducted speaking tours at junior and senior high schools on writing and wall magazines in various cities such as Denpasar, Jember, Surabaya, Pasuruan, and Malang. In addition, he served as a mentor in training programs on writing children’s literature organized by the Book Center of the Ministry of Education and Culture at the Sawangan Training Center (Bogor).
In organizational activities, Dwianto was active in KPBA (Kelompok Pecinta Bacaan Anak / Children’s Reading Enthusiasts Group) and served on the board of INABBY (Indonesian Board on Books for Young People).
In 2000, he was appointed Executive Director at the Surya daily newspaper (Kompas Gramedia East Java). His busy involvement in the newspaper business caused his writing activities to gradually decline.
He received awards in writing competitions held by Gadis, Femina, and Kartini magazines. He also received several other honors in the field of literature.
He passed away in Malang on June 1, 2024, at the age of 75.

Membacakan buku ini untuk anak-anak. Seru! Walaupun ceritanya disesuaikan dengan logika anak-anak, namun keseruannya tetap dapet. Seandainya ada buku detektif anak-anak seperti ini lagi saat ini.
