In manufacturing and other business sectors the persons heading the units have not necessarily gone through management course. Such managers normally are those who have come to head the unit rising from lower levels – due to their performance and hard work. They usually learn the management by trial and error, committing mistakes and applying common seance. This book aims at providing such managers tips which may help them make right decisions in various situations and find solutions to the problems faced. The book aims at improving their skills while managing people, time, data, tough situations. The book is also expected to guide them in improving the plant’s/business unit’s performance and reducing the operations cost.
Recently, I got to know about this book and I find out that it's really a great book for everyone. All the important aspects of Management skill has been perfectly written down by the author in this book. Unlike the other informative books, this book does not talk about bookish techniques or skills which are not applicable in real life. Author's life long experience has been reflected in the book clearly. I personally think that it is important for everyone to learn management skill which is the art of dealing with people, motivating them and getting the best out of them - according to the author. In just around 100 pages The author managed to impart his deep knowledge that will be beneficial to its reader. The book is written in a crisp manner so that it can be easily understandable to everyone. The chronological order is perfectly maintained and I feel that these things made the book easy for me to read. Simple words are used to define evey concept instead of technical terms. I like one aspect most in this book and that is at the end of the chapters the author has summarised what we have learnt from the chapter. I learnt so many things from this book special leave from the chapter "Conducting a meeting effectively". To learn this skill in most realist way, grab the book now.
It's quite an informative book on management skills. What liked about this book is that it's not informative in a boring way. It does not take textbook techniques and try to force it on people with properly curated lines to trap anyone. It takes examples from real life that isn't very out of the box and is capable of happening to everyone. I believe in some methods like trusting the gut, it has helped me out of various tough situations in life, only fair to think a good manager would have a good understanding of their gut feelings. Overall, a good read. Happy reading!
