For beginner and intermediate players Pandolfini's works continue to fit the bill perfectly. While he does not try to overwhelm one with quantity he stays focused on quality. In this work of 202 tactics there are tactical examples for every square of the board. Every example also includes the last enemy move, the primary target, the secondary target, the specific battle tactic, the result, as well as the attack profile and observations. This is and excellent book for beginners especially those under 1400 USCF. I am a 53 year old 1800+ player and just finished going thru it again.
