Para pemuda yang terbangun di masa depan, berusaha dengan susah payah untuk menyesuaikan diri hidup di tengah alam yang keras. Mereka berkumpul membentuk komunitas dan mengalami konflik antar sesama dalam menjalin kehidupan yang baru.

i like that we were finally confronted with the necessity of law and order in this new world.

the thing about ango and ryo is i believe they always had this deepened capacity for cruelty, and that was clearly nurtured by their teachers, but the narrative still doesn’t make what they did excusable. their peers went through the same thing, yet they were disgusted by them.

it’s also a reminder that sexual assault is about power, something ango clearly craves as he scrambles to make sense of what was done to him and why. again, it’s inexcusable. ryo’s twisted way of trying to logic his own terrible actions is also punished by the narrative. it’s refreshing. we see two characters who were violently harmed, but where others, still morally grey themselves, exhibited some sort of growth to becoming better, they became the worst version of themselves, and must face the consequences of that.

i think they’re running into summer b is brilliant, not just because of the drama this births, but also because summer b was clearly created with genuine humanity in mind, not just survival. they were chosen because of their imperfections. that is going to be such a jarring wake up call to ango and ryo. it’ll be interesting to see how that forces them to grow in some way and reckon with who they’ve become, or if they’ll chose to dive even further into depravity.

I love how the characters are finally able to address some problematic stuffs like the crimes comitted by some other characters and that they've decided to act upon it. It was definitely surprising, but it makes the whole plot moves forward and I am truly at a loss for words to describe how exquisite the storyline is. >3<

doh... nih seri lama banget baru terbit lagi, sampai lupa cerita terakhir bagaimana, apalagi buku 1-15 jauh dari jangkauan sehingga nggak bisa discan untuk mengingat kembali jalan ceritanya. jadi teringat waktu belum hidup terpisah dengan perpusku di bandung, setiap kali jilid terbaru suatu seri yang lama banget jeda terbitnya (topeng kaca misalnya), seringkali baca ulang dari jilid pertama supaya tambah sip *what a waste of time but i like it*

anyway, begitu membaca lembar demi lembar jilid ini, aku langsung teringat kembali adegan-adegan jilid sebelumnya, menunjukkan bagaimana seri ini memberi kesan yang dalam padaku.

ceritanya semakin bikin geregetan, tapi kalau jilid 17 entah kapan terbitnya, lebih baik menahan rasa penasaran, mengingat manga online-nya terhenti di jilid 13...
