Gary Demonte Chapman is an American author and radio talk show host. Chapman is most noted for his The Five Love Languages series regarding human relationships.
Sometimes the entries are powerful, sometimes they’re very sweet, other times I scratch my head at how they’re relevant to the Bible verse with which they’re paired.
Chapman gives a little advice on studying the Bible in the conclusion that would have been way more helpful in the introduction for those who want to learn how they can study the Bible devotionally. I recommend reading that little advice before going through the book, and then, instead of reading just the single verse that Chapman pairs with his entries, go and read the whole chapter in which that one verse is found (or at least the section of the chapter).
I don’t usually read devotionals for my quiet time, but this one was a gift and so I wanted to honor the gift-giver. In the end, it did help me to be reflective on how I am living a life of love for God and for others. Because of that, it was valuable.
Read this one two times and counting. The short messages provide bursts of Hope and inspiration...just enough to infuse optimisim and positivity into my mornings.
