Black and white photographs highlight the steps in making a pizza pie, from the moment the pizza man starts mixing the dough until he serves a slice to a hungry customer.
4/5 1990 Informational K-4th grade I enjoyed this book because it was informational on how pizzas are made step by step! It had a fun twist because it was a man as the character who had his own pizza store, and all the pictures within the book were real pictures on the process to make pizzas! I would read this to my class if we did a unit on order and how to make things sequentially I would tie it into a pizza unit and display this book! It would also be a fun read for students to just look at the pictures and relate it to a pizza shop such as papa johns or Pizza Hut!
Absolutely amazing book. My friends and I discovered this book at our school's library in 7th grade and we absolutely loved The Pizza Man. He looked so sexy with that mustache and with the way he worked that dough. Absolutely scrumptious. We loved him so much that we started a cult at school about the pizza man. We prayed to him every day under the Holy Tree (A tree that we tore the bark off of and stacked sticks around) that he would come down from Pizza Heaven and take our souls away from this subpar pizza world. Once a week, we would read this book and we read it so much it got to the point we had it memorized down the page number. We could recite like how a Christian recited verses, except better. Every pizza day at school, we would treat it like a gift from the Pizza Man and sacrifice one slice of pizza at the holy tree to let him know that we are here and waiting. We are still waiting. Please return, Pizza Man. Your loyal followers are waiting. Farina, liquamen, et caseum.
