Inspiring story of a woman's spiritual awakening. Being a widow with young children and working in corporate America the author came to realize she was severed from her natural being. She goes on a quest? I don't know how to explain her search for meaning.
I read this for a book discussion and Anne Hillman joined us for a meeting. She was a very generous woman and shared her insights with us.
It has been a while since I have read books on spirituality, and her book spoke to my condition.
. Especially found her discussion on integrity meaningful. Integrity is a gift not an achievement or an attainment. Also liked the image of the flock of birds, flying together and yet not conforming or uniformly but each flying with the others. Grateful to have read this book

The Dancing Animal Woman was referenced in a daily meditation from Richard Rohr. I looked it up and it got my attention. A wonderful memoir of Anne Hillman's personal journey and how she began to connect with her true self. This is an unusual book in that Hillman connects her personal journey to that of cultural change. The book if filled with poetry and other great references. I personally resonated with Hillman's connection to nature and collective consciousness. An inspiring book of transformation, one that I will return to.
