Joyce Meyer is a New York Times bestselling author and one of the world's leading Bible teachers. Through Joyce Meyer Ministries, she teaches practically and candidly, openly sharing her experiences and helping millions of people to apply biblical principles to their situations and ultimately find hope and restoration through Jesus Christ. Her book Battlefield of the Mind has been a perennial bestseller, teaching people how to win the war in their minds and “think about what they think about.”
Joyce’s Enjoying Everyday Life program is broadcast to millions worldwide in 114 languages. She has also authored over 150 books, which have been translated into over 170 combined languages, including Battlefield of the Mind, which has sold over 7 million copies across the globe. We’ve also distributed over 43.5 million books around the world.
A survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Joyce discovered how to overcome the emotional pain of her troubled past and experience true joy, hope, and healing by applying God’s Word to her life. Her passion is to help others do the same. For more than 40 years, Joyce has held conferences across the United States and around the world, teaching God’s Word and sharing the message of Christ with millions. Joyce also encourages millions each day through social media and online efforts and resources at joycemeyer.org
Joyce’s passion to help people who are hurting is the foundation of Hand of Hope, the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Each year, Hand of Hope provides millions of meals for the hungry and malnourished, installs freshwater wells in poor and remote areas, provides critical relief after natural disasters, and offers free medical and dental care to thousands through their hospitals and clinics worldwide. Through their Project GRL initiative, they rescue women and children from human trafficking, provide safe places where they can receive an education and nutritious meals, and seek to let all girls everywhere know they are loved and valued by God.
In 2023, Joyce founded Hope Mountain Ranch, an 800-acre refuge in Mount Pleasant, Utah. Inspired by her own personal journey, Hope Mountain Ranch is a place where people can experience the transformative power of God and find hope and healing. It also serves as the hub for Joyce Meyer Ministries’ outreaches across the United States.
I've spent many days upset with myself because I felt that I didn't meet God's expectations. This book helped me to realize that God loves us unconditionally, regardless of our mistakes.
Feeling like I just left therapy 🫂 That's how Joyce Meyer's books are to me! Her writing and life story are always touching, everything is so genuine! The example of the apple of His eyes was so beautiful, I never thought about it like that! I recommend anything this woman writes.
"Tell them I love them"...Do you know whose words they are?...The words of the God of heaven and earth.......He wants to tell us...that He loves us.... The following is quoted from Joyce Meyer "The Lord gave this Word to me as I was preparing for one of my conferences, and I believe He wants me to share it with you. He said:
“So many are in prison because they won't accept themselves. So many are so gifted and talented, but they won't express themselves because they fear rejection. They fear man. They fear what people will think. I want to love My people, but they hold Me at arms length and won't let Me really love them because they have been hurt by others. They fear I will reject them because of their weaknesses—like people have—but I will never reject them. Tell them I love them. Ask them to stop trying so hard to be acceptable to Me and to realize I accept them where they are. Tell them I don't want perfect performance from them. I want them to love Me and to let Me love them." "
Someone really needs to tell Joyce Meyer that when you write a supposedly non-fiction book, there is one thing that is really important:
Having a point.
This is just 74 or so pages of blah blah blah. Perhaps Meyer is pandering to her base. I don't know. Was the point "God loves you"?
As if nobody living in the Western world has ever heard that before?
In between each blah blah blah, there is some deeply disturbing stuff. She keeps reinterperting Bible verses as if she's guessing how the verse appears in an alternative universe. She keeps saying God talks to her and gives her visions -- even while she's driving.
These are usually symptoms of severe mental illness, like schizophrenia.
Then again, Meyer thinks that everything bad comes from the Devil. That's sure to endear her to the Rob Bell crowd.
And then the prosperity gospel and victim blaming crap starts up, such as this gem:
If you really knew how much God loves you, you would have less trouble receiving a healing. You would have less trouble receiving your financial needs met.
Think that was bad? You better be sitting down for this one:
You don't need anybody but God ... He will be your mate if you don't have one.
I don't really pick up a book and believe that there are going to be bad parts. In some cases there are when they are from the flesh but if we are walking with the Lord we are going into a book that God has called us to read and look for what God wants me to get out of it. I'm not always going to like what I am reading especially if it's hard truth to hear. This book was a great one to read because I am experiencing more of God's love for me. The more love I experience the easier correction is for me. Before I just looked for what I wanted to correct and not what God wanted me to correct. I am so greatful that God inspired Joyce to write this and didn't go with what she wanted to write. Thanks Joyce.
About accepting that you are loved with an unfailing, unconditional, profound and exhaustive love.
And alas accepting and allowing it to engulf you is often the hard part. Accepting it and gaining strength, faith and lasting daily joy from the true realisation of it.
A book about the futility of human effort when separated from love.
God’s love.
And the love of other people.
Seeing other people through the prism of the infinite love that God has for them, one cannot help but smile, notice and marvel at the beauty and uniqueness of every single person they meet, and love them unconditionally.
I love Joyce Meyer because she tells it like it is. And this little book about God’s love for us may be short but it is packed full of powerful truths. I am going to re-read it again soon. And then re-read it again. We all need to know and accept God’s love for us.
So much packed into this small book. It is a great read for those struggling with self worth/self image. I highly recommend. Like all her other books, she really reaches into the fragile heart of a woman and shines the Light and Love of God onto all those broken places.
Short easy read about meditating on God’s love and how that could help you learn to love yourself and others, I liked story in chapter 3 about God spending time with us
These words are quoted from Joye Meyer "The Lord gave this Word to me as I was preparing for one of my conferences, and I believe He wants me to share it with you. He said:
“So many are in prison because they won't accept themselves. So many are so gifted and talented, but they won't express themselves because they fear rejection. They fear man. They fear I will reject them because of their weaknesses—like people have—but I will never reject them. Tell them I love them. Ask them to stop trying so hard to be acceptable to Me and to realize I accept them where they are. Tell them I don't want perfect performance from them. I want them to love Me and to let Me love them." "
i liked it, but some things were not explained well or too shallow. Then again, it's only a very short book, so i guess the author couldn't but stick to the basics, but for a deep subject like 'learning to receive Gods love for you' i think a longer book with more in-depth information taking difficult situations into account would've been better. But then again, some quotes i copied were helpful and i was reminded of some great parts of the Scripture which is always a good experience.
