Just home from a mission for the LDS Church, Sid "Doc Halliday" Soloman thought it would be easy to take up his life where he'd left off--get back with the band, cut a record, maybe even go on tour. And after years of corresponding with Emily, he hoped to finally marry her. But the music that had once come so easily seemed to be dead, and Emily seemed to be so caught up in her own life that she was rushing out of his. All Sid feels is a grim hopelessness that doesn't fade even as he forces himself through the motions of living. His sister, his band members, his best friends all wish they could reach him, but ultimately Sidney has to find the music for himself.
This book took me back to my early teens when I was so into LDS romance novels. If you think about the story elements in thoes kinds of books this one has them, the return missionary, the girl that didn't wait, the struggle to fit back in, finding another girl to fall in love with and marry within days of meeting, and the non-member friend or family memeber that gets converted. But the main character had some depth and it is an enjoyable read.

This is a great book that takes the time to explore creativity and intimate relationships. It's very introspective though, and I just never picked it back up to finish it. I didn't realize this was part of a trilogy when I started it, so maybe that explains the lack of explanation for some of the characters.
LOVE Kristan Randle. This is one of her first books and is LDS based. It is the 3 book in this series. The first is Home Again and the second is One Song for Two. This book is mostly about Sidney and the struggles he faces with his life. It is a very thought provoking book that really had me feeling all kinds of things with this young man.I feel like I have been on the journey with him. It makes me so thankful I am where I am in my life. I love the way the author explains things and the dialogue between her characters. This is the hardest to read of the three books because it is such a hard journey but well worth the read. Very Clean book. Re-read- april 2012 Still love it!
This is the sequel to Home Again and One Song for Two and it was so disappointing. I hated what happened with the main character from the previous book. I mean really? She turned out to be such a flake.
