What more could an innocent man behind bars want but a conjugal visit from a sexy stranger? A get out of jail free card, maybe?
Undercover agent Meredith DeView is offering Steve McCade a deal: work with her in a secluded safe house to crack the smuggling ring at his old tech company, and the FBI will guarantee he never has to return to prison.
Sounds good...if he can only keep his hands off the hot agent who’s rescued him.
Meredith is sex and salvation all wrapped up in one for McCade, but there’s a dark truth that’s driven her to seek him out. By getting him to the safe house, Meredith ensures that McCade goes free, even if she never comes clean.
When McCade finally learns the truth, will he hate Meredith, or will the truth set them both free?
As a teen, Angela Claire worked in a graveyard, mowing lawns. She thought it was the worst job she'd ever have. Unfortunately, she went on to practice law. Once free of that horror, she turned to writing. Her stories always include a sassy heroine because she doesn't know any other way to write them and a hero who's to die for. When she isn't writing, she'd rather be. She has published over 20 books with Entangled, Siren Bookstrand and Ellora's Cave. Her latest is Tempting the New Boss, out from Entangled. She is represented by Kerry D'Agostino at Curtis Brown, LTD.

The mystery led for me, but the resolution of it seemed rushed and shoved to the side for the romance. The romance flailed at the beginning. Kinda took off and then honestly it was so close to rape I wanted to put the book down. They lost me at that point. These two characters did NOT have enough history or bond with each other or me to make me believe they could get it on and be ok with each other after what happened. I figured the mystery out by page 2 of the second chapter. The surprise came in the way they were caught.
I give it a "meh" rating. Certainly not bad in any way, but not stellar either.
