Jerome James is a young, star football player for Jamaica's national football team. He is beloved by the public for his heroics on the pitch and adored by scores of women for his natural good looks, magnetic personality and star athlete status. Jerome meets Angela, a lovely physiotherapist, and unexpectedly falls madly in love with her. Life is grand but Jerome has serious issues. His penchant for life in the fast lane and his chronic addiction to having sex with multiple women regardless of the consequences has his life spiraling out of control. Will Jerome be able to fight his demons and save his career, his new-found love and his life...or will he be ultimately doomed by his self-destructive behaviour?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I can't wait to see what happens in part two as the saga continues. It was a welcome break to read something Jamaican. I don't know what it is with Jamaican writers/authors though. They always seem to overuse and/or incorrectly use ellipses and semi-colons and it is almost guaranteed that there will be typos. That aside though, I enjoyed it. It was a bit more sexually graphic than I am accustomed to but it was not at all off-putting.

There was only one part of the book that I didn't really like and that is when Laura called the doctor who she chose randomly from the directory. The doctor is Lenky's friend. That is too much of an unlikely coincidence so much so it reminded you that the story was fictional. Also, what are the odds that the very willing air hostess is the sister of the woman Jerome loves?
