A Hell’s Jury MC romance novel by USA Today Bestselling Author Nikita Slater.
Coyote
I’m walking a tightrope between what the world sees and who I really am. I’m waiting for the day I can release my boiling rage and annihilate my father. In the meantime, I burn with guilt and shame over my inaction.
Then I meet her, Bryce, the catalyst for uncaging the monster inside. I killed a man for her for reasons I can’t understand. And how does she repay me? By bringing a horrific past with her that reveals my secrets and unleashes my fury.
It’s too soon, but I have no choice. I’ll destroy the world to keep her safe, even if that means losing myself in the process.

Coyote is the second book in the Hell’s Jury MC series. Each book in the series is completely standalone and can be read in any order. Coyote is a dark romance with scenes of sexuality and violence. Please read with caution.
Nikita Slater is the USA Today Bestselling Author of action-packed suspenseful romance. She writes dark romance, mafia romance, MC romance, fantasy shifter romance, and post-apocalyptic dystopian romance. She lives on the beautiful Canadian prairies with her son, her awesome dog, and her partner. She has an unholy affinity for books, wine, pets and anything chocolate. Despite some of the darker themes in her books (which are pure fun and fantasy), Nikita is a staunch feminist and advocate of equal rights for all races, genders and non-gender specific persons. When she isn't writing, dreaming about writing or talking about writing, she helps others discover a love of reading and writing through literacy and social work.
What can I really say about Coyote & Bryce? I can say quite a lot actually. Coyote = fiercely loyal, alpha male, protector. Bryce = fiercely loyal, protector, always puts others before her own safety.
Bryce is a professional thief. She got caught doing what she thought she had to do. She thought this was the end. She thought she was going to die, but then Coyote surfaces, kills for her and rescues her.
Coyote has no idea what was waiting for him when he decided to go check out a rival MC. Bryce!! He helped her escape and now things will never be the same.
Two worlds are going to collide. Coyote and Bryce can survive anything as long as they have each other. Right? Lies and deception should stay out of a new relationship, however, there is so much that Coyote and Bryce do not know about each other. This book is a crazy ride and I love every second. Kudos Nikita!! Great Five-Star Read!!
1.5 Stars (DNF @ 75% - Skimmed to the end) rounded up a star
*deep breath* So... this book bummed me out. I didn't like it. 😔😫 I didn't like Bryce or Coyote. I found it impossible to connect with either. And man, I was just sooobored. It breaks my heart to admit because I've always loved Nikita's books but this book was very meh for me.
It took a while to really pick up after the first handful of introductory chapters but somehow even after those it stayed at that same pace all the way up to 40% even. Even up until I started skimming it felt like it was barely moving.
It felt like that had alot to do with the many inner monologues from both MCs. At times it even felt excessive and I was ready to just move on.
I kept feeling as if the MCs, particularly the heroine was simply dissecting and detailing the surroundings and people around them. It felt more analytical than anything with real feeling. And because of that it left me feeling very disconnected from the MCs, but especially the heroine.
And while I understood that that was more representative of how both MCs thought and approached life it just didn't allow me to connect with either. Both felt very cold and disconnected with the world and their emotions, especially Bryce. And while I also understood both had their own reasons for being the way they were I felt like as a reader it didn't allow me to find any sort of connection with either so that I was invested.
This book just didn't have the same energy as book one did. And while I can totally accept the story not exuding a ton of emotion or intensity I still expected more in that regard. Because sadly, this book being about two MCs that are emotionally contained wasn't much of an excuse for why this installment felt so detached and unfeeling.
Tbh by the end this felt more like a detailed study of the life of a biker than an actual romance. 🤷🏻♀️ Because I also just found it difficult to understand what tripped Coyote's trigger when it came to Bryce. The, I wouldn't say insta love but maybe I insta attachment or insta possessiveness that he exuded from the moment he saw her; It just never made sense to me. I never actually felt that they had some special connection, especially from Bryce's standpoint. I wasn't sure how someone like her who was so guarded, contained and cautious would so easily trust this man who was obviously a criminal, a killer and a stranger despite saving her life. As she kept reminding us, she had much more to lose than if she was on her own, which she wasn't. She kept repeating how everything was for her son Sean, that nothing was more important but she never put up any effort to escape Coyote when she did have a few opportunities early on. I found it strange how she just settled in so easily despite knowing she planned to leave him anyway.
And if they had any chemistry I never saw it. I never felt anything from either. They didn't make sense to me.
I also found it sorta made the rest of the guys, and particularly Jess and Rocky, look bad. As in, the way that both Coyote and Bryce detailed their perception and thoughts of them left me feeling bad on the others behalf because whatever they felt or described shaded them in a negative light IMO.
There was one thing that another reviewer (Gina Marie) said for their review of Rocky, which was that the brotherhood between the men of this MC doesn't feel very strong. And sadly I have to agree. After this book, especially from someone like Coyote's perspective, I just do not feel that these guys have any sort of emotional bond or camaraderie with one another. It feels very business like in how they handle themselves with one another and less that they're truly bonded. In the same way I'd imagine being in the military is like: We're a team, and I don't have to like you but I'll have your back when shit hits the fan. Which I'll admit is a big bummer for me.
However, I am going to continue this series. I don't feel like this book was a good representation of what this series has to offer especially from the POVs of two such characters like Bryce and Coyote. So, I'm hoping the next book will change my mind.
This was another winner for me in this series. Picking up a few days after the conclusion of Book 1, Rocky, this one focusses on Coyote and Bryce's story (if you haven't read the first story, you can definitely read this one as a standalone - it gives a quick rundown of the main events already covered to get you up to speed. Quick warning though - there's an overarching 'whodunnit' that starts in the first installment). Coyote is a well-educated trust fund kid, standing out in the Hell's Jury MC due to his upper class, methodical ways as well as his tech expertise. While surveilling a rival MC's property, he sees a remarkable woman scale the house, break in and crack the safe. When she's then ambushed, he breaks his own rules and intervenes, saving her life. Bryce, the thief in question, seems to be everything he's ever wanted for his own so when a threat from her past comes knocking, Coyote will do everything he can to not only protect Bryce, but keep her in his life for good. For those that need the warning, there are a couple of triggers in the book in the form of underage abuse, both physical and sexual. It's not graphic, but it's part of the plot.
This book had plenty to keep me turning the pages: action, steam, romance and a bit of mystery as Bryce's past is slowly revealed and the MC's dramas continue. I'm not usually a big fan of the MC trope, but I love this author's style and her approach to her characters and the MC world she's created definitely ticks all the boxes for me. There's just the right amount of angst and violence to make the story credible without it being over the top and trying too hard to make the gang edgy. Coyote and Bryce were both unusual main characters in that they were socially awkward and stayed apart from the crowd, preferring to keep their cards close to their chest. There's a solid slap of instalove but considering the fast pace of the book and the bang for buck it manages to pack into the story, this didn't worry me at all. For those that have read the first book, there's some great interaction with Rocky and Jess, which I loved.
Even though this is only the second book in this series, I'm loving the Hell's Jury MC. Coyote grabbed me from the first page and I can't wait for the third book to be released. The characters, club world and overarching plot are right up my alley and make an excellent read.
This is Coyote's story. He has, at last, met his soul mate. Coyote had to save Bryce because she is a thief and did a job that went awry. Without Bryce's knowledge, she began to fall in love with him, but she had to stop herself since she needed to return home to her sister and son, who were hiding. However, Hell's Jury MC had other ideas; before she can leave, she needs to complete one more task for them. Little did she know that Coyote had other intentions for her; he had made the decision to keep her, and in order to do that, he needed to locate her son and sister and bring them to them. That opened up a whole other can of worms, and now Bryce had to tell Coyote why she was in hiding with her son and sister. Once Bryce told her story, Hell's Jury MC decided they were going to help her since in the process they were going to also save Coyotes twin sisters and get rid of a scum. In the end Coyote had his HEA. This book is longer but It was great you get meet new charagters and and you get now more about Coyote. I highly recommend this book Nikita Did a great job with it and I cant wait for the next one. Bryce now had to explain to Coyote why she had gone into hiding with her son and sister, which opened up a whole new box of worms. Hell's Jury MC decided to aid Bryce after hearing her story because, in the process, they would also save Coyote's twin sister and get rid of the scum. Coyote ultimately achieved his HEA. Even though this book is longer, it was fantastic since you got to meet new characters and learn more about Coyote. The book is excellent, and I can't wait for Nikita to write the next one.
WOW! Coyote and Bryce’s story is incredibly intense, action packed and highly entertaining. I was instantly hooked on these two and could not get enough of them.
Bryce is a tiny little sprite of a woman, filled with fire and a fierceness that cannot be matched. She’s also a thief and continually puts herself in dangerous situations. Bryce also has some secrets she keeps close to her heart making it difficult to let others in. Her latest job has unfortunately taken a turn for the worse putting her directly in the middle of a dangerous situation.
Coyote, while on a stakeout, spots a thief in trouble and decides to save her. Little does he realize, this fierce tiny woman, will turn his world upside down.
Bryce and Coyote have such fantastic banter that is filled with sarcasm, wittiness, and some sexual innuendos. There was just something pulling these two together. If only Bryce would let her guard down, Coyote could be exactly what she needs.
Really well written story that was filled to the brim with suspense, violence, drama, secrets, betrayal, and twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. It was an incredibly exciting story with some steamy moments woven in.
I also just want to say that not only did I absolutely love this story, but I loved all of the secondary characters too. The twins, BETH and the men of Hell’s Jury MC had me giggling continually throughout and I just fell in love with them all.
One of Nikita Slater's Best MC Books! Read it today! This story starts off with a bang that will keep you on the edge the entire book. Coyote, a member of the Hell's Jury MC, is good-looking, mega wealthy, and totally OCD. All of that makes for a really interesting MC story. Then there's Bryce, a beautiful, tiny, talented thief. And that makes for a totally fascinating story. NOW, put these two people that have mega secrets together and you will not be able to put this book down. I LOVED Coyote and his thoughts and Bryce, she is wound up in a history that is so secretive, you will be holding your breath and reading as fast as you can to see what her past is. These are my favorite MC characters of Nikita's so far. Of course, I say that about all her MC men. Every book that Nikita Slater has written is always phenomenal, so don't miss this one!!! Oh, and I forget to mention BETH, wait until you meet her...
This is the 2nd installment of Hell’s Jury. Nikita hit it out of the park with this book. Strong independent thief Bryce meets her match with Coyote. They fight their attraction to each other from the start. Bryce is hiding a big secret from Coyote and he’s hiding an even bigger secret from his club. Their worlds collide and explodes around them. Each trying to protect the other while trying to protect their secrets. But as one knows, in an MC a brother is always family. Will Coyote figure it out before it’s too late and save Bryce from herself? Can Bryce move on from the past so she and Coyote have a future? I am dying to see what else Hell’s Jury has in store for them in the future. Thank you Nikita for another 5 star read!!
What do you call a 'Meet Cute" that has a body count? Perfect for Coyote and Bryce. These two are a perfect match when it comes to their fierce protectiveness of their loved ones. Bryce was a layered heroine with a dark past, and Coyote was the very definition of complicated. The two of them together was electric and messy and felt inevitable.
There was so much action and plot to this one, and although I enjoyed the energy of it, I read this genre for the characters and the relationship between the hero and heroine. I would have liked more scenes at the end showing the dynamics of this new found family. That is the only thing that kept this from being a 5 star read from me. I still enjoyed this immensely and look forward to the next in the series.
3.5 ⭐ Compared to book 1 this was somewhat decent. I liked Coyote's character, he was not that much of a caveman. I liked how he was protective of his sisters. There were some scenes that had me laughing, mainly because of BETH.
However, I was a little bit disappointed, since he was described as the sniper in book 1, but we never saw any of that.
I didn’t like Bryce at all. She was described to be as short as a ten-year old, while she is 26. Exaggerate much? Also her character was too weird for me, no idea how or what she was supposed to be.
This time we were spared the other woman craziness.
It's actually funny to see, that from Coyote's and Bryce's POV, Jess and Rocky are still annoying, bland and boring.
Some readers pointed it out already, there is no brotherhood-feeling in this club. There is literally nothing between them, no friendship, no bond, nothing, just a bunch of guys wearing jackets hanging around each other.
Trigger's book is next and I'm already disgusted by the guy from both book 1 and book 2. They guy who said never to settle, is growling wife at first sight.
Bryce and Coyote are perfection these two right here are fiercely loyal and very protective of those they hold close to them which makes them a dynamic duo. Nothing these two do is simple nope it messy and just them and I freaking loved every minute of their story! I love how the author portrayed Bryce she is fierce she is strong and she is a woman that know how to take care of herself. Coyote is the definition of complicated and mystery but I think that’s what I love so much about him. The way these two come together is explosive and the new family they build is completely them and I love that! Can’t wait for the next brother to fall in this series!
Nikita Slater's characters come to life with her words, their tragedy, their battles, and their passion are felt across the pages. Coyote is a man to love and boy did I swoon over him. From his inner dialogue, to his bad boy vibes, and his house that is run with a steel hand by BETH. An awesome surprise in this story! Bryce is a young, waif of a girl on the run from something terrible that happened in her past. She finds herself in a predicament with an MC club, and that's how her and Coyote meet, and it was explosive. This story, and series, is phenomenal and gripping, so hard to put down. I can't wait for Trigger's story!
Nikita Slaters latest story Coyote in the Hell’s Jury biker series is rich and evocative, capturing also the darker side of the wealthy classes. It’s a tail that is not only a dark romance but about the corrupting influence and underbelly of the rich and powerful.
I loved how the characters are complex and nuanced, with each representing a different aspect of not only socioeconomic backgrounds but the criminal underworld. While Coyote chose the underworld, Bryce was driven to it.
I really enjoyed the exploration of love, wealth, and the pursuit of vengeance and justice. The themes are both beautiful and haunting.
It wasn't meet-cute it was meeting from your nightmares that turn into something else. Bryce has a poker face and doesn't show when she is scared but Coyote can read her so she can't hide herself from him. I like how when she was in charge she showed her brilliant mind and the job was done perfectly. The story was nothing I expected, it had some surprises that I am not sure how I feel about them. And the Coyote's past wasn't as dark as I thought and that's why the 4 stars only. Saying that I am waiting for book 3 next.
Coyote is the second book in the Hell's Jury MC series by Nikita Slater. As the book opens Bryce and Coyote have a very unusual first meeting. The story pulls you in and doesn't let go. As the story unfolds, you see that they are perfect for each other! Nothing happened as I imagined it would!! The story becomes totally engrossing with twists and turns like you wouldn't believe! Another great read by Nikita!!!😍
Another amazing book in the Hell’s Jury MC series. These men really like to attach themselves to badass women. I absolutely loved Coyote and Bryce’s story ❤️❤️❤️ Coyote needed to learn his brothers have his back and when push came to shove he learnt that lesson. Can’t wait for the next book. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was good. Characters worked and the story worked. Getting a better glimpse of some of the other personalities was nice. Would've been nice to get a little more in depth with Sam and Autumn's story(maybe they'll get a novella). I took a star due to the grammatical errors throughout the story.(honest ARC review)
I always say that you can not cram a good story in a short book. This book has enough pages to suck you in. Yeah! I really enjoyed it. But there are still things that need correcting, like ages of twin sisters and the son- they changed to a year younger in the middle.of the story. Few other things as well- just do another proof read! It should do it
I like a good MC book. This was a good one.Coyote was s typical alpha male but with a big heart. Bruce was a strong mother protecting her son at all costs. I like books that have the characters from the other books in them. But the first 2 were free with Kindle. If trigger is not in kindle unlimited I won't continue the series. Not a fan of this practice.
The second book in this new series is a must read. Bryce is quiet, a silent thief. Coyote is OCD( and loved him for this), jealous and the most important: he wants Bryce,he is obsessed with her. Loved BETH 💓 the idea is great, genius really. Loved every page!
A slow burn this one It took me while to get into this book but once I did it had me gripped I could not put him down I loved the dark nature of the book and can’t wait for book 3
I enjoyed Coyote and Bryce's story. They understand each other. Both are fiercely protective of loved ones. Their first encounter was bloody and unusual. They have traumatic and tragic pasts which is strangely connected. It is a great book.
