This book recounts from f a Congolese native perspective the 500-year history of the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo from 1482 to present day. I only read about half of this book - the rest appears to be analysis on how to move forward. I enjoyed the section I read and have now moved on to read more books on the (so-far) tragic history of the Congo. The bonus of reading this book is that it is written by a native who speaks from experience, rather than secondary observation.
