This is a big soap opera of a book. It follows the major character, Gwen Harcourt di Marineo (born in Sicily of Sicilian and English descent) from Sicily to Australia in her quest for a great love like that of her parents. It is peopled with an array of characters, some crazy, some sane. It's good for a holiday read.
