Of course, well in excess of that oddly low number of copies of the VU's roiling, era-defining records have been sold in the more than 45 years since Lou Reed first swaggered up to a microphone in New York City in the mid-1960s. But the gist of Eno's observation rings it cannot be denied that the Velvet Underground--sardonic and loud, intense and cool, and legendarily influential--occupies a nonpareil status in the history of rock, art and art-rock. Ignacio Julià, the creator of The Velvet Legend, Truth first saw Lou Reed play in 1975 in Barcelona. The concert had a life-changing effect on him, but rather than start a band, Julià proceeded to follow the band's career, interviewing the members over the years, and publishing the first edition of this volume in 1986. This reissue of Julià's long-unavailable book has grown into this revised and expanded edition, packed with rare pictures and memorabilia, and including exclusive interviews with Lou Reed, John Cale, Moe Tucker, Doug Yule, Nico and the longest interview ever granted by Sterling Morrison.

Feed Back es un sueño hecho realidad: el de Ignacio Julià, un muchacho que en algún momento de su vida escuchó una canción titulada 'Venus in Furs' y se preguntó qué demonios era aquello. No lo sabía muy bien, pero le encantó. Tal vez para investigarlo se convirtió en crítico musical y, con el tiempo, llegó a conocer a sus ídolos, a los miembros de aquella banda que había cambiado su vida.

El libro está escrito desde esa perspectiva del crítico adorador, como debe ser, dejando que la experiencia vital que le ha supuesto la música quede impresa con pasión en las páginas de su obra. La primera parte resume brevemente la historia de la Velvet Underground, con apuntes personalizados por el gran Sterling Morrison. A continuación, Julià recolecta los artículos y entrevistas que ha ido escribiendo a lo largo de los años en diversas publicaciones musicales, siguiendo las carreras de los músicos tras la diáspora o simplemente rememorando a la inigualable banda neoyorkina, pero siempre contando con ese privilegio que son las opiniones directas de los protagonistas. Editado con mimo, en tapa dura, con un formato cuadrado reminiscente del vinilo, con abundante material gráfico...un caramelo para la legión velvetiana.
