Golden Man

Rate this book
Steven Marshall is the kind of guy that makes a woman think of satin sheets and steamy nights, of wild sex involving handcuffs and whipped cream—and then brass bands, waving flags, and Fourth of July parades.

All-American terrific, that's what he is; tall and bronzed, with hair the color of the sun, thick-lashed blue eyes, and a killer grin slanted against a square jaw-a true Golden Man. He is even single.

Unfortunately, he is also the President of the United States. So when average citizen Ginny Baxter finds herself his date for a diplomatic reception, she doesn't know if she is the luckiest woman in the country, or the victim of a practical joke. Either way, she is in for the ride of her life...and the man of her dreams.

Don’t get me wrong...I love my husband...but I’ve spent a lifetime caught in a passionate affair. My lover taunts, teases, enrages, thrills, amuses, and ultimately satisfies. His name? Language. Readers, you know what I’m talking about. Whether written, spoken, or sung, words entice me as no other human invention could ever do. Okay, music is a close second; when you put the two together, the result is sublime.

Like most writers, I came to this devilish profession through a love of reading. I’ve worked as a crime reporter, teacher, librarian - challenges all. They culminated in the creation of stories of my own, both contemporary and historical. My wish is that you let them seduce you

I live in San Antonio with my husband, dote on five grandsons, and travel whenever and wherever I can. My photo was taken on the dock in Liverpool, England, in front of a modern sculpture of a “lamb-banana,” the artist’s whimsical cross between a lamb and a banana. This was shortly before an emotional trip to the boyhood homes of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

Steven Marshall is good looking, rich, 30, single and president of the U.S. Regina Baxter is 34, divorced and then widowed, a car shop counter person, and mother to a 16-year-old baseball pitcher who hates government. When Ginnie goes astray on a White House tour looking for a bathroom, she ends up at Steve's feet in the Oval Office by accident. That starts a weird relationship between them - secretive because of his position and uncomfortable because she's very blue collar and not used to dealing with politicians and people who want to exert their power. Their passion, when caught on camera, forces a hasty marriage which starts out poorly. Finally Ginnie and Steve admit their love and come into their own in their marriage and as first lady.

Somewhat improbable situations, but kind of a fun book. Some somewhat graphic, course sex scenes. Parody of Pres. Clinton in some ways.
